The Cupcake Shoppe

This place produces some amazing tasting cupcakes.

The cupcakes at The Cupcake Shoppe are fair, not spectacular, but good. If I had not run into Baby Cakes at the Saint Matthew’s Farmer’s Market, then this would be my number one in the area, yet again — Louisville does not have a great selection of cupcake shops to choose from.

It was good! The cupcake was great, but the topping was kinda dry. Give it a try! Some visits are good, and some are okay.

Don’t buy from this place my friends living social deal expired she tried to use it their words…“sorry about your luck”. Nice

This place is awesome! I went here yesterday to grab some cupcakes for a party and ended up trying a few while I was there. Heather, the owner, is great and extremely helpful in choosing what flavors to choose and tell you about their detailed baking procedures. The shop itself is really cute inside and a great place to meet for an afternoon treat with your girlfriends (or guyfriends!). Definitely up there for me with favorite dessert places in Louisville.

I went to Cupcake Shoppe about 3 times. My first time, we ordered a dozen for a birthday. And I also went twice with my son. Their frosting is delicious. I really wish I could just take the frosting and transport it to another cake. Their cakes are SO DRY. It is almost hard to eat them. If you order a cake, and dont eat it that moment (Ie: if you wait until the next day) it will be inedible. We have tried. My last visit, I ordered a smores cupcake and it had a marshmallow drizzle. It was supposed to have graham and marshmallow baked in. It was a plain chocolate cupcake. Nothing more. And having nothing to counter-​act it, was awful. I even took the cake up to the clerk and showed it to her, saying there is nothing in this but dry plain cake and she «assured» me it is there. Just baked in. HAHA. No, it really wasnt. Extremely disappointing. I am not planning on returing.

Gave it a second try and while they had more of a selection a second time around their cupcakes are just NOT FRESH. They are over-​baked and dry. They need to do something to keep their cupcakes fresh.

For the price, I was hoping for huge cupcakes. I guess it’s an awesome place to go for a desert/​socialize with a friend, but wouldn’t recommend spending $ 12 for 4 cupcakes to take home to the family.

After 8 months in Louisville, I have found my «special treat» dessert place. I’d rather come here than go to any of the local ice cream places.
The cupcake I ordered (chocolate cupcake, vanilla bean frosting), was OUTSTANDING. The frosting was so smooth, and not too sugary or buttery. I’ve been thinking about those cupcakes for days. Also very clever how they pack up single cupcakes to go.
TIP: They are only open until 6 PM, or supply runs out, so get there early. SO good.

LOCATION: The location was very nice for the cupcake shoppe. It looks as it was in a growing part of town and is next to Edible Arrangements.
FIRST IMPRESSION: The shoppe was small, quaint but had a nice formal feel to it.
THE MENU: They had quite a few cupcakes on display and a nice big price board to review your selections and descriptions of the cupcakes.
THE PRICE: The price to me seemed a little of the top for a cupcake. It was $ 11 for four (4) of them which seems high.
THE TASTE: The cupcakes were very good though. The sweetness of the frosting did not overbear the taste of the actual cake. It was a good cupcake.
OVERALL: I would go back if I wanted a «high-​end» treat. The were good cupcakes but if you are on a recession budget, I would look elsewhere. It was good though!

I still love this place. However, I tried the spring bouquet cupcake (lemon flavored) and was kind of disappointed. Sprinkles’ lemon cupcake is the best ever! Props to trying out new flavors, though.
