As you walk into The Brown Hotel(where this place is located) you walk up the elegant staircase and land directly in front of The Lobby Bar. The historical checkin counter is off to the left hand side, parallel of The Lobby Bar. I was staying at The Brown and found myself here for the second time. This time, I decided to add it as a business on Unilocal.I find it annoying that The Brown’s Unilocal business page has a ton of photos of the menu and food items, that technically should go here. And I just had to post a picture of my Hot Brown, but I couldn’t bare to post it along side of the same pictures as my hotel bed. Am I the only weird one like that, with this Unilocal pet peeve? Who else has had a Hot Brown at the Brown? Well, now I can say that I have. I’m pretty sure that the kitchen here is connected to J. Graham’s kitchen, at least the menus are similar. My daughter and I spilt a Hot Brown and they brought it out pre split, on individual plates. They were perfect sized. There was no way that I could’ve eaten a whole one… well, maybe. But this way, I felt less guilty about it. So, what is a Hot Brown? With layers of toasted bread topped with sliced turkey, an avalanche of Mornay sauce, and lots of golden brown cheese, it’s a Kentucky staple. Save up your calories, loosen your belt and head to Louisville and make your way to The Brown. You can either get one here or at J. Graham’s, the restaurant downstairs. Here they serve the best Hot Brown that I’ve ever had.
