Went to celebrate a graduation, Rola was our server and he was training someone else. He was informative and made it a fun environment, my wife and I have 3 younger children all under 5 and two teenagers. He didn’t just focus on the adults he made it fun and acknowledged our kids too. The food was amazing everyone enjoyed it, but more than that the experience was PHENOMENAL!

I love this place, usually come for my birthday every year. Some of these reviews I think are kind of ridiculous. It’s a fondue restaurant, so why are you so surprised you have to cook your meat? That’s the restaurant style. I enjoy that they mix the food in front of me, I can see exactly what is going into my food and how it’s being done. No mystery as to what is happening behind closed doors. And the food is measured before it is brought out to be mixed, that’s why everything is in it’s own bowl prior to being mixed… I love the food here, have tried a lot of different things over the years and I love how they add specials over the course of the year to try different foods. I think the atmosphere is great. Is it a little pricey? Yeah, but I still love coming here.

Thought the food was just okay. Disclosure: my first time at a melting pot and not a fan of getting raw meat on the table and being responsible for cooking all the way through via a broth, and it was expensive! Our server was fantastic and if you like melting pot type restaurants then you would probably love it but I don’t think I’ll be back but that could merely be due to personal preference, when paying that much for dinner I like a cooked meal to be presented to me.

The table was really small for the 4 of us. Asked for a booth and then were denied but watched a couple sit right down in one. Starting with the cheese it was so thick it would just clump up and fall off the breads, veggies, and apples. We all enjoyed the tiny salads the best. Meat came raw, really freaked me out since raw meat can be such a health hazard. They weren’t expensive cuts either and frankly all of mine were over cooked as I had to keep throwing them back in the pot to cook and guessing how long it would take to get them right. Lastly, we got the white chocolate for dessert. The brownies were old, the bananas were brown, the strawberries were on the verge of rotten, and the pound cake was stale. All 4 of us were very disappointed and our first time there was our last. Overall, if I’m spending that kind of money I would prefer food that is properly cooked and served to me and not have to hope I’m spreading e-coli all over my table.

Celebrated an anniversary at the Melting Pot last weekend and we had a great experience. The service is a bit slow, but that’s kind of how the Melting Pot works. A 3 hour dinner there is not out of the ordinary and it gives you time to talk with the person/or people you are eating with. I think that’s why this restaurant has so much romantic appeal. That and the lighting, private booths, food style, etc… The first course cheese was delicious(went simple and chose cheddar) as well as the salads. We had the Cobb and the Caesar. My boyfriend is a steak man so naturally he got the Steak Lovers option for his main course and he was very pleased with all 3. He kept saying it melted in his mouth. I eat very little meat and wanted a vegetarian option. My only problem with the menu is that there is only ONE option for vegetarians. Mind you, the pasta/veggies/tofu in the vegetarian option were actually fantastic, but it’s 2016 and I think the menu should incorporate more choices for the none meat eaters. The spinach ravioli was to die for! It wasn’t a huge problem for me to cook my veggies in the same liquid as my boyfriend was cooking his meat, but for some I know that would pose a problem. So if you are a vegetarian I’d recommend calling ahead to see if there is a remedy for that situation. Maybe a bigger table? Overall, the food and service was great. Everything was well explained and I left feeling satisfied and romantic as ever ;) We’ll definitely be back.

We had a 745pm reservation. We arrived five minutes early. We were asked to have a seat until our table was ready. We sat for maybe 15 minutes before we got our table. While we waited for our table another couple came in for their reservation. Either they were 10 minutes late or also five minutes early they were brought to their table almost immediately. Once brought to our table we say down amongst about 8 rose pedals. I paid $ 6 for 8 rose petals? Our waitress was very good and very nice but it took 15 minutes for me to get my drink. My boyfriend got his immediately. Mine was just a mock tail so it shouldn’t have taken that long. The food was ok. The cheese and dessert was great. Took three hours for the whole meal and though we expected it to take a long time we didn’t expect to wait as long as we did between each course. Super expensive for subpar service and food. Kind of disappointed as this was our special anniversary dinner. Not sure if we will go back again or not.

Not bad. Went for a fundraiser, which makes me like the place more because they support local non profit organization, but for their typical 4-course meal we were there for 3 hours

It was a bit of a roller coaster ride. It’s a very unique place and a different type of experience. I’d say the biggest down fall was you HAD to share all the fondues. You’d think there would be a way to split it up, especially with the cost, but wasn’t given the option. The first cheese fondue was good, no complaints. We had the Wisconsin trio. Wasn’t anything extra fabulous either. The salads… we did get to choose two of those. We had the house salad with peppercorn ranch and the California salad. The house salad, was just that, even had iceberg lettuce. Not impressive. The California salad was absolutely amazing. The right mix of everything and so good. I’m still thinking about it. Next the main course. I’m vegetarian and not a lot of options. It wasn’t anything special and didn’t work so great with the Coq du vin cooking style. This place didn’t really seem to cater to vegetarians. Plus, because you share the fondue, you have to mix in with whatever the other person. Like most similar restaurants, they just have options, not necessarily great ones. The dessert was Bananas Foster. The dessert was good. Though they gave you a lot of things to dip with, which I don’t feel were really needed. The two things to dip that were by far the best, were just the bananas and the pound cake squares. I was left wanting more of both, but ran our as there was only a few of each. Would have passed on everything else. Although the pineapple was unique and not bad either. I would have liked a little more mystery in the preparation too. They mix everything in front of you like it’s just being thrown together and not carefully measured out and prepared. Overall it was ok and a unique experience. Just some things I think could be better.

Great staff great food great experience. Make sure to make a reservation before you go or might not get a table. Place is always busy on the weekends and rightfully so. Love the mojo dipping sauce definitely worth the price of admission.

I have very few complaints about this restaurant. I’ve been here 4 times now and have been satisfied with each visit. My girlfriend and I make it a point to come to this location once a year for our anniversary and are continuously satisfied. The Wisconsin trio cheese fondue is VERY wine-y. My girlfriend wasn’t a huge fan but that sherry rang through strong and I loved it. We always get the Caesar salad which is not very big but I don’t even mind because I know I need room in my stomach for the next two courses anyways. Third is the main entrée. Honestly their main course is overpriced. Every main course. However the mojo cooking option is GREAT. Citrus and garlic-wow! Then comes dessert. Omg. Bananas foster and the chocolate s’mores dessert at the BEST fondues I’ve ever had. They have great specials that you can arrange; last time I had them sprinkle rose petals and place a vase of roses. Extra $$ but you can’t put a price on her face when she walks up the the table. Yes you’re going to spend money here. A lot. But from start to finish I’ve always been well taken care of and that makes me care a little less about the price at the end of it all. Great place.

My wife and I had been to La Fondue a couple of times, but this was our first trip to The Melting Pot. Since there are a lot of restaurants in the area and this area is very popular, parking was not easy to come by. That isn’t the restaurant’s fault, but did figure into the overall experience a bit. Once inside, the ambiance was very nice, the staff was very friendly, and the food was awesome. We had the flaming turtle chocolate fondue for dessert, which was amazing, but we couldn’t finish after being so full from the other courses. Overall, a wonderful dining experience in a beautiful area of town.

I come to the melting pot at least twice a year for special occasions. The dinner is always a fun experience. We like to come with a group larger than 4 people so that you can get two burners. We always do the cheese dip with salsa and chips and then another more white cheese for veggies and bread. The turtle dove chocolate fondue is the highlight of every trip. The place seems very well run and I always look forward to coming back.

We took my son while he was home on leave from the Army hoping to have a wonderful night out with him and his new wife. Our server, Chelsea, was horrible! She spilled at the beginning of the meal(red wine on my husband) and at the end of the meal(iced tea on my son) — both instances garnered an «Oh sorry ’bout that» from our waitress. I have a pine nut allergy and am typically very cautious about mentioning it but got caught up in chatting with my son and my new daughter in law and forgot. I did look to be sure there was not pesto in anything and I ordered very simple stuff… except the Caesar salad which apparently has sugar coated pine nuts. Yep — they look like macadamia nuts and frankly I’ve never heard of pine nuts on a Caesar but out of habit I always avoid eating nuts — I pushed them to the side but the oils on the lettuce were enough to activate my allergies. As I pulled out my epipen, my husband asked Chelsea if there were pine nuts in the salad and her response was«Yes, and it’s printed on the menu.» which she reached into another empty booth and promptly put in front of my husband. I was saying it was my fault for not being more careful and she literally walked away from us mid-sentence!!! Stunned!!! At no point did a manager come by the booth or anything — when we got up to leave so my husband could take me to get medical attention, our server came back and we told her to cancel my meal(obviously) and she said«but they already have it ready to bring out»…SERIOUSLY!!! I haven’t been this irritated with a restaurant or a server in a very long time and my son(he and his bride stayed to finish their meal because we were being charged for it regardless according to our server) said her attitude didn’t improve nor did anyone ever even come by the table to inquire if I were okay or anything. I’ve had this allergy kick in accidently at 2 other restaurants in my 44 years(I really am very careful) and both had a manager check to make sure I was okay later — one even called our home the next day to be sure I was ok. That’s customer service! I’m not complaining because I want a free meal — In fact, I won’t ever go back. I’m posting this bad review because based on what I see below, our service wasn’t the only bad experience and this location obviously needs some customer service training! For the cost of this meal, I guess I just didn’t anticipated having been treated better at the local burger drive through. Disappointed, frustrated and irritated don’t begin to cover my range of emotion about this experience!

My partner and I developed a taste for The Melting Pot while living in North Carolina. But who doesn’t love a nice pot of melted cheese?! This was our first trip to the Louisville Melting Pot and we had a great time. Our server, Megan, was on point the entire time. From excellent drink recommendations(The Eiffel Tower forever!) to a warm personality, she expertly anticipated our needs and made sure we were set for maximum dipping. We are those people that show up just for a pot of cheese and a pot of chocolate — I have no regrets! We started with the Classic Alpine — a nice blend of Gruyère, fontina, and more. And to follow it through, we stuck with the classic chocolate and peanut butter dessert fondue. There was more than enough to dip for each course. In the end, my partner and I fought most over the apples during the cheese course, and the rice krispies during the second. We can amicably split brownies and marshmallows, but once some gooey rice krispie chunks come through, it’s warfare. Parking in the area can be a little rough, so allow yourself some extra time while in downtown Louisville.

Had a great experience with a dinner that was so much fun. The owner of this restaurant should congratulate Cody on being such a good waiter. He is one of the best waiter we have ever had. He really knows his craft. Food was great. Dessert was also wonderful. This is surely a treat that everyone should experience.

This place was a BIG let down. We normally go to the Littleton one but recently moved north so thought we’d go to the more convenient location in Louisville for our anniversary. First off, parking is an absolute nightmare here. For some reason they don’t offer valet. Don’t even try to go on a Friday or Saturday unless you want to spend a minimum of 20 – 30 mins driving in circles to find a space. This location is TINY. There were so many tables and chairs crammed in to this space it keeps it from being private or romantic at all. The space is supposed to seem rustic. In reality it seems run down. Our waitress was ok, nothing amazing. She seemed annoyed to be working for the first half of our meal but then calmed. I don’t know, maybe she took some shots or went outside to smoke a joint(it is right by Boulder after all). She messed up our salad orders, forgot our butter for the lobster until the lobster was nearly gone, and when we ordered celebration shots she brought us a martini and 2 shot glasses, so we essentially had to make our own. The food was fine but let’s face it, you cook it yourself, so if it’s bad it’s probably your own fault. Would I return to the melting pot? Yes. Would I return to the Louisville location? NEVER. I would rather drive over an hour to get to the Littleton one than 20 mins to return to the Louisville location.

We went on date night here. They got us into a nice secluded area, which we appreciated. Our server, Rolo, was really friendly and chatty. We wished we hadn’t been in a hurry that night, because he was a funny guy. One thing we can say: this is a hard place to eat quickly. It simply takes time to cook everything. We tried the four course dinner with the Good Earth(vegetarian option). For this option, I would recommend at least 2 hours 30 minutes minimum. We started with the cheddar cheese course. This is my favorite thing to eat there. The veggies and bread are unlimited, so you can ask for more if you run out. They prepare the food right at your table, which elevates this from a regular dinner out to performance art. The next course, salad, was simple but good. We both ordered the wedge salad(no bacon, since we’re vegetarians) and the best perk was the sizable chunk of Roquefort on the plate so you could control how much of the tasty cheese went into each bite. The third course was a veggies cooked in broth. We chose the coq au vin, which is vegetarian. They provide LOTS of stuff to cook, including: potatoes, mushrooms, asparagus, raviolis(2 types), tofu and edamame. They also provide six different dipping sauces. Our favorites were the spicy cocktail sauce and the curry sauce, but they were honestly all good. Dessert is your choice of a chocolate fondue. We opted for the dark chocolate. They served it with fresh fruit, crumb coated marshmallows, pound cake, Oreo and graham cracker crumbs. I may be forgetting some things, but suffice to say, lots of dipping options. In the end, I think next time, I’d opt for the cheese and chocolate courses(our faves) and avoid the full stomach/empty wallet combination. Actually, if you just choose a couple of courses, it’s pretty affordable. Hell, the cheese course is only $ 9 per person, which is a great deal.

I love the melting pot! I usually frequent the Littleton location(which is better in my opinion) but we decided to switch it up and try the Louisville location for Easter dinner this year. They were offering a special that was too good to pass up, $ 29 per person for 3 courses, which is a steal. The meal it’s self was enjoyable, as always. My least favorite entrée is the chicken, they should put some kind of marinade on it or something so it doesn’t taste like just boiled chicken. My favorite was the pork tenderloin, it has the most flavor, and tastes great dipped in the curry sauce. I also love the green goddess dipping sauce on all my vegetables. My one big gripe about this visit was the service. It was seriously lacking. Every time we needed refills on our drinks the waiter was no where to be found. You are able to ask for more vegetables or bread for the cheese or more dipping sauces for the entrees, and every time we asked for something extra we would be finished by the time it actually showed up at the table. It was definitely a little frustrating. And by the time we were finished with our meal, everyone who had come in after us had left already. I think I’ll stick to the Littleton location.
