the small non profit i work for signed up with transfirst merchant servcies — at the recommendation of the auction host — as our credit card processing service for an online auction back in march (2015). once the auciton was over i contacted transfirst for a payment report and then to cancel the service. well, first of all, they could never produce the report i asked for — i had to use what the auction service was able to provide. secondly, more importantly, and the reason for the one (though i would prefer to give ZERO stars), transfirst never shut down the account. here it is almost $ 60.00 in monthly fees later (october 2015), and their «retention specialist» is telling me «no one ever accessed that account» — including the person whom i had an email trail with back in april. i am now in the process of closing the account, but they refuse to reverse the fees they collected for may, june, july, august, september and october AND their account closure form threatens MORE fees.
i also reviewed our contract with transfirst and nowhere in it does it call out a monthly fee.
shady business practices… hoping you’ll overlook the $ 9.95 that they take directly from your checking account every month.

Our theater company contacted TransFirst in June to arrange for credit card purchase of tickets through our website for a production in late July. As of today, 8 hours before the opening of the play, the ticket purchase function still does not work. We were at first sold a highly complicated system intended to handle hundreds of transactions at a time by a sales person who had no interest in what we said we needed and was able to offer only one kind of service. Although the web site subsequently listed ways to buy fruit and vegetables among other things, it has never been possible to purchase theater tickets on it. Although payment was taken from the company’s account at the beginning of July, approximately a dozen telephone calls to TransFirst were unsuccessful in getting this attended to. About a week ago we were told that the site should be working (it was not) and that a «rush» request would be submitted and that the site should be working on the next business day. As the play opens, it is still not possible for us to sell tickets on the website.

BUYER BEWARE! TransFirst is unethical and dishonest. I was looking to set up my website with an ability for immediate sales when I found TransFirst, which appeared to be a legitimate company. I trusted them enough to share my bank account information and then soon afterward decide to cancel their service as I did not need it. The only way I could contact them was to call, they do not have legitimate contact information online. When I finally spoke with a woman supposedly from TransFirst I was told she would not cancel my payments unless I paid TransFirst hundreds of dollars., in other words a payoff, she then reminded me that they had my bank acct info. At this time I am looking in to the legality of the company.

Do not do business with this company!!!
I applied for credit card processing with TransFirst. I asked specifically if the was any charge for the terminal and assured me that there was no charge. Six months later I realized that a company First Data had deducted over $ 600.00 from my account
Since I had never heard of TransFirst, I closed my bank account and contacted First Data and TransFirst and was told that I was not only leasing a terminal, but had signed for it personally.

The question is why would I agree to lease a $ 160.00 terminal for $ 55.00 a month for 36 months, and why would I sign for it personally being a LLC.
It is not logical.

I never saw a contract until I requested it after the fact and did not sign the equipment Lease Agreement.
My name is also misspelled on one of the signatures.
I don’t know how they do it because I am a seasoned small business owner for 22 years.

The negative credit is preventing me from refinancing my home to half of the current rate.
These companies take advantage of small start up businesses and need to be stopped.

Transfirst lied about the length of my contract which I never saw. I was told I was signing a 2 year contract which turned out to be 3 years. I wanted to cancel the account In January (after more than 2 years but less than 3) but was told my contract would be in effect until August. It was cheaper to pay each month than to pay the termination contract and cancel in August which is what I did. There were no transaction fees after January but they still charged me for the PCI validation. I explained this to one customer service agent who said she would submit it for review and to call back in a few days. When I did I was told it had never been submitted but I had to pay the fee anyway. I would never use them again.

Unethical. Contracts designed to hide fees.
In general, I would advise to stay away from any organization that is not honest.
FYI. sales reps will say anything to get you to sign up. It is your responsibility to read every addendum listed in your contract that you sign.
Stay away. Talking from a very expensive lesson learned.

Sneaky and unethical. They take money out of your bank account they haven’t earned, and resist giving it back when you find out.
I run a computer network management company, providing sales and service. I have used TransFirst for several years as my credit card processor. They once were a good company. I charged my clients’ cards, I got my money, they took their fees. Everyone was happy.
In that past few years, every so often they will sneak a new «service» for a monthly fee of $ 7 or $ 10 on my monthly bill, or just raise the rates on existing fee items. They will opt you in for a program, WITHOUT TELLING YOU, and when you call to complain, they tell you it’s your fault. If you don’t notice for a several months (which is easy to do because there is a lot on the bill), they will refuse to refund anything prior to three months.
In my most recent case, I was opted in to two programs without any notification, for a total of $ 15.95 per month. The phone reps glibly told me today they notified me on prior monthly statements, but when I asked when, they of course couldn’t find on their copy of the statement where it is, and one rep just lied and said it’s on there, not realizing I still have my copy of all my statements.
If you’re already a customer of this company and you do opt out of a program, ask for written confirmation. Or, if you even open the website for an optional, paid service of theirs, also make sure they didn’t sign you up based on that.

AVOID them at all costs.
We signed up as it allowed ACH, VISA, MC, etc, payments to be posted directly into our office software. Found out that checks are all held, then released individually, SO your deposit for each day gets split into multiple smaller deposits over several days. There is no way to reconcile your bank statement without intense research of their online reports.
I’d give them ZERO stars but that is not an option!!!

BEWARE — TransFirst is an absolutely pathetic excuse for a company. They rip you off and when you call to dispute charges, they are rude and obnoxious.
My bank started showing red flags when money was coming out of my business account. Mind you, I NEVER approved an account with this company. When I rang them to ask why they were charging money to my account, when I was not even aware I had one, they forwarded me to a company called
, who were even ruder, agressive and treated me in an appauling manner.
This two «companies» are the worst I have ever dealt with and I highly advise against ever coming into contact with them!

I entered into a 3-​yr agreement (no other option) in order to process a one-​time charge for a new client. The sales (commissioned) agent failed to reveal certain fees, i.e. early-​termination of $ 250, or the clause that allowed for other miscellaneous fees during the 3 years. Yes — these were in the fine print of the contract that I eventually received and signed — but again, no other option. Transfirst started adding capricious fees, including illegal «opt-​out» fees where they place the charge on your account since you didn’t tell them not to sign you up for whatever service. Other fees were also added. When I called BS and asked to terminate the contract, they held firm to the early term fee etc.
I contacted my bank who had originally recommended them — they stated they had ended their relationship due to problems with customer service (go figure).
I would recommend anyone BUT Transfirst.
