Gold’s Gym

I am updating my review on this place as I returned recently from an injury where I was out for 4 months from here. Wow, the 4:30pm to 7:00pm primetime weekday hours in here are almost too crowded now for me. Tuesday ²⁄₂₃ it was so bad in the free weight area I actually left early as I got tired of waiting. I like this gym but seems it is being overly used during these hours in some areas. People aren’t the friendliest in here and seems to be changing to the lunk hangout. Overall this place in my opinion is becoming more crowded and less enjoyable to be at for me.

I’ve been a member here for over 2 years. The staff is great. Earl & Dani are so great along with the rest of the staff! The equipment is nice and there is so much equipment and room! There is a women’s only work out room as well.
The reason I give it 4 stars is because of all the sign up fees you have to pay and there is a yearly charge of $ 15-​$ 25 for «maintenance fees» in Like June or July. It’s the most expensive gym in town and other areas but it is a great place to be!

Fitness classes hot; staff cold! I came in as a guest while visiting the area. I was given a 7 day pass, which was not honored as I was not a resident. My sister also had issues with a free pass. The pass was not honored because the days were only to be consecutive workout days, and she had traveled. No problem, I was willing to pay to visit the gym. However, dealing with the front desk, and the options was tedious. Once you get in the gym however, the offerings are fabulous. Yoga, Pliates, Zumba, Body Pump, Spinning with excellent instructors. So I recommend this gym to all the gym rats out there who can tolerate marginal customer service and navigate the facility on their own. Exercise away!

Kathy has been at the front desk for years, and can greet many of the members by name. She is incredibly talented at diffusing emotionally-​charged situations, and she always maintains her professionalism despite occasionally stressful circumstances. She is loyal and hard-​working, and a tremendous asset to Gold’s Gym.
Lori manages the Kids Club wonderfully. She knows the kids and their parents by name. She knows how to keep a large group of kids under control, and she’s certainly had her fair share of leaky diapers. Undoubtedly, Lori has earned her stripes in KC, and if you’re a parent looking for a reliable sitter while you workout, Lori’s KC is the place to go.
Allison manages her sales staff very well. She is knowledgeable of the gym’s services, eternally enthusiastic, and always committed to providing great customer service. If you are considering joining, be sure to talk to Allison, Corrie, or any other of the well trained sales reps.
The gym is approximately 40k sq ft. Amenities include a basketball court, group fitness (included in membership), and a movie theatre with cardio equipment. New member prices fluctuate depending on season and promotions. Group and corporate discounts are available if you are considering joining with friends.
Gold’s Gym is privately owned by a local couple who has made many sacrifices for the sake of their members and staff. They invest ample funds into maintaining the equipment, and firmly believe in the value of personal responsibility and dependability.
As the former Assistant GM, I assure you these statements are true, and I challenge you to find out for yourself.

I’ve been a member for about 6 months. ALL gym contracts have provisions to keep you locked in for a year, that’s how they make money, if you wont stick with it or use it, find a place that offers month to month. I find the equipment to bee good quality, and hardly ever out of service. They have top brands. The place is always clean, both the locker room and the gym floor. Lots of great classes too if that’s your thing. I also used their personal training, and was happy with how they matched me with a trainer. I have noticed some turnover in the last few months though, seems to always be new people at the front desk, but that in no way effects my workout. All in all its a solid gym with some extra amenities at a fair price.
