Grand Sands

Very nice year-​round sand volleyball facility. The indoor courts each have a hand shower for getting that same off after your match. They have Refs for all league matches of quads.
Did I mention they have a fill bar? The beer is very reasonably priced at $ 8/​pitcher.

Wow! It has been a long time since there has been a review! Let me shine some new light on this biz shall I? I have played on a summer league and on a winter league. First impression… Fun cool place to actually play sand volleyball in the Midwest and OOPS! I miss the entrance! (Watch out the entrance is not very well lit and can easily pass it). There is nice bit of parking on one side of the building. Never had problem finding parking. The place is pretty big with 3 courts outside and I think 5 courts inside. The sand is nice comfy sand. I have been on some rough sand that not friendly to the feet nor to a diving body getting the ball. They do wet it just a bit I feel like or it could be just the dew. There are little water stations to wash your feet or body. (Let’s not go crazy to wash yourself in public please) the drinks price seem reasonable. I haven’t tried the food or beer there but it looks good. (Will keep you posted on them). The indoor courts are the same as the outdoor courts with the same sand. It’s inside of what looks like an old wear house with spray foam on every nook and cranny inside. They even sealed the garage doors ha ha. That insulation does a great job because even though it is freezing outside, it is warm and humid inside. You can still wear your summer workout clothes and sandals and be very comfortable. The refs at the place seems consistent and reasonable. For some reason no setting is allowed. Interesting to say the least which is kind of good since my pet peeves are lifts that are not being called. Also, all games have started on time; if any, a 5 min delay.
All in all, this is my favorite place to play. It’s a 30 min drive for me to play an hour but it’s worth it!

I have had a team at Grand Sands for around the last year. This place, for whatever reason, has gone downhill. Here are a few things that have been annoying me.
1.) The referees and rules. Seem to change on a weekly basis with absolutely no consistency. Don’t even bother trying to «set» at this place.
2.) The games always start late. This really sucks when you have a 10 o’clock game on a weekday night that starts 30 minutes late.
3.) The beer tap line taste like it hasn’t been cleaned in years. I had a Yuengling down the road at Paxton’s one night followed by one at Grand Sands. The difference was crazy… and disgusting.
5.) After paying hundreds of dollars for league entry you would expect to get something nice when you actually win a league. NO WAY! You get generic shirts that were bought in bulk that just say Grand Sands on them. A complete joke.
Avoid this place if you can. There are better places in Cincinnati that do the same thing.

Great Place to play Volleyball! Bar prices aren’t too bad either.
