We stumbled upon this place by accident. We were travel weary and dressed so casually that we figured, hey 4 stars on Unilocal, looks like they’d take us as we are, why not? I had the gumbo which was good, and the shrimp and grits which were«oh my god this is the best thing I’ve ever tasted» level good. Service was fantastic, funky décor makes you feel like you’re in New Orleans and great southern cooking. If you’re in Loveland try it out!

Not a bad Cajun food joint. Enjoyed the gumbo and fried green tomatoes. Service was great.

We came through on a road trip and because of Unilocal reviews stopped in and are so glad we did! The service was so friendly, the drinks delicious(and strong!). But the food was spectacular.

Food was good. Service is so terrible! I have been there three times and every time I have sat for at least 15 to 20 minutes waiting for my beverage. The food is delicious but the wait staff definitely is not on point. My husband and I went there tonight and we only noticed two servers and the restaurant was full. We like to support local restaurants but in this situation, it’s difficult when the service is so terrible.

Damn. This is seriously the best place to eat in downtown Loveland. Jerome was absolutely incredible. He took care of us and let us try the grits before eating them. Who does that? Jerome does, that’s who. The Hush Puppies were top notch and packed with flavor. I want to eat their Shrimp and Grits every day for the rest of my life and even after it’s over. The Catfish Creole was like a jambalaya explosion with a blackened catfish in the middle. Incredible! Definitely making this place a regular spot. Thanks Jerome!

Mo Betta was great! I came in with expectations low and an open mind because I’d never even had gumbo before. I ordered the chicken and andouille gumbo and shared some chicken tenders and mini corndogs as an appetizer. Everything was downright delicious, piping hot, and unpretentious. The restaurant is loud, small, and busy, which is fine because it doesn’t claim to be fine dining and the prices are as low as they come. The food was fantastic. I can’t wait to go back!

Delicious food! Happy employees who give great service. The shrimp and grits are amazing and the banana pudding is wonderful! Their cocktail menu is fun. Lots of New Orleans staples.

In the area on business, I decided to try this place based on the Unilocal reviews and I’m glad I did. Atmosphere feels like New Orleans, casual and fun. Staff was all very nice and welcoming. Tried a Moscow mule made with cucumber vodka at the waitresses suggestion and it was delicious. Dinner was shrimp and grits with a side of red beans and rice. The shrimp was nicely cooked with a lot of spice, good size portion of shrimp. The grits were made with Asia to and were delicious, some of the best I have had. It was an above average dish. Cornbread was served with butter and honey. Red beans and rice were just ok. The chunks of ham tasted good but the beans were a tad bland and either the beans or rice had hard bits. I would not order that again. I was too full for dessert. If I’m in the area again I would consider going back. Great service and good food.

I have been at Mo Betta about 4 times now and I’m finally writing a review for them. :) First off the place looks so fun! It definitely has a very funky New Orleans feel~ I just adore their restaurant décor and wall paintings~ The food. I have tried their gumbo, jambalaya and their beignets. I am no New Orleans food connoisseur so I can’t tell how ‘authentic’ it is but I can tell you that their food is delicious! I love it. The gumbo is hearty and especially good during cold winter nights. I really love their jambalaya, the portions are big and it tastes amazing. It is actually my personal favorite so far~ Their beignets are really good and they are, of course, a messy fun dessert. As for service… Everyone that I have encountered at Mo Betta always seemed super sweet and friendly. They are pretty laid back and they can easily converse with you as though they have known you forever. They are also really attentive and makes sure to take good care of you. The staff really makes it more enjoyable to dine at Mo Betta~

Great food, service and atmosphere. I have spent considerable time in New Orleans and this is probably the best Cajun food I have had outside of the big easy.

What a unique place! We were in a hurry to eat real quick before heading to the baseball fields around the corner. We ordered hush puppies(so good), fried okra(good), fried pickles(really good), and beignets(really really good). The service was exceptional and the vibe and décor is really neat! If you want good food and a one of a kind experience, I highly recommend this place!

Great food and great service. Never been to New Orleans but this is how I’d imagine it would be. Huge portions big enough to share. Everything tasted amazing. A must try. Don’t forget the banana bread pudding.

I really don’t get what all the hype is about. My family and I have been wanting to try this place for awhile now, and it was nothing but disappointing. We tried a little bit of everything off the menu, all 5 of us weren’t pleased with any of it. Bland, flavors were definitely lacking. $ 80 later and nothing worth coming back for.

Here on business and our first choice was closed. What a lucky break because this place is really good. They serve Pepsi which is a strike against them but everything else is great. I loved the hush puppies and the shrimp and grits were excellent. The gumbo was spicy as it should be. Small quiet atmosphere. Not what you would expect in a small town In Colorado but absolutely worth a visit. Pretty reasonable prices for dinner.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in northern Colorado. The food is reliably good. Every meal. Every time. My personal favorite is the shrimp and grits but the fried oysters are so very good as is anything with catfish. The gumbo is fairly spicy and delicious as gumbo should be. I also love the corn bread. Additionally the staff are always friendly and right on top of things ! Tonight Courtney was our server and she was fantastic, but honestly they all are. UPDATE: We just went in for another visit. The bananas foster bread pudding is delicious! and the service was outstanding, as usual. I think this is the first time I’ve metioned a restroom in a review but this one is very homey and comfortable.

Omg. Amazing. We’d heard good things but never expected it to be that good! We had the wobbliest table in the house but they tried very hard to set it right :) had the fried green tomatoes, little over breaded but delicious. Boyfriend had the Nawlins’ and I had the Slap Yo’ Mama Loaf. His was delicous and the perfect amount of spice! With most pasta dishes there’s usually not enough protein. Not on this one! Way more crawfish and shrimp than expected! Soo good! Mine was to die for. The cheese sauce. Enough said. So much shrimp and sausage and the bread was perfect! Definitely will be coming back. And soon! Can’t wait till they expand into a bigger space!

So good! My husband and I were recently in New Orleans and I have been craving creole food ever since. It’s not easy to find food that taste like what we had in New Orleans. One of my coworkers mentioned this place to us so we went one night. I got the gumbo with shrimp and it was delicious! I kept eating even after I was full. The beer selection was decent. And the amount of moonshine they offered was incredible. After the gumbo we ordered the bananas fosters for dessert and even though I had no room to eat anything else i couldn’t stop eating that either! I wished I had a second stomach just so I could continue to eat everything. Great food! Great atmosphere! Thank you for the wonderful experience!

Food here is so amazing. I’ve eaten here several times and it’s always been good. Their«swamp water» drinks are tasty and strong. Always worth the short drive down from foco to Loveland for this spot. Had the catfish creole blackened. It was Devine. Do yourself a favor and drive your ass to Loveland and get drunk and dine here.

Ahhh I love the seafood gumbo here. So much. Spicy with a large piece of cornbread on the side. That and the sweet tea are sure to send you home happy. The beignets are delicious, so are the fried tomatoes. Also, moonshine :-) The owner was nice enough to talk with us about the origin(she also has a Mo Betta in Louisiana), so you know it’s authentic.

Great spot to stop in on a cold winter day. The décor here is so cute made me think I was in New Orleans and not a snowy day in Colorado. We started with the hush puppies they were sweet and had a little bit of spicy with the dipping sauce highly recommend those! I got the catfish creole. I did my catfish blackened, it was over rice with gumbo poured over it. It really hit the spot on a cold winter day. It really wasn’t that spicy either. If your hesitant about creole spices they do a nice job here it’s not overwhelming, at least the dish I had. I wasn’t that impressed with the corn bread as some of the other helpers rated. My husband was not a fan of his po-boy. He got the fried oyster po-boy. I took a bite also and it wasn’t for me either. The oysters themselves tasted good but it was too saucy with the coleslaw and the additional dressing. I would definitely come back it will take more convincing for my husband, next time I want to try the jambalaya!
