Run, don’t walk, away from getting any kind of so called«service» from Rise Broadband, formerly Skybeam. Worst internet service ever, with the worst customer service, as well. On hold forever, they won’t return calls after they commit to do so, and they are very quick to blame the customers equipment for their shoddy internet service. Trust me… Go with a different company for your internet needs.

Company has changed to «Rise Broadband». Same crap service, lots of slowed internet. Today I’m on hold for over 15 minutes awaiting speaking to a non-existent customer service agent regarding a billing issue. This is my 3rd call this am, still unable to speak to a human. Will be searching for a new internet service provider…

Skybeam used to provide good service at my residence until they upgraded their system in Fairplay, CO this summer 2014. Now my speeds are about ¼ of what they should be. I called at least 5 times and finally they sent out a tech who spend over 2 hours at my home only to tell me that there is nothing they can do to help me. I pay for the highest package $ 70 /month for the 20 meg plan, but only get about ¼ of the speed that I pay for. Can never make it through a movie on line and downloading anything for work always has problems. I think Skybeam knows that CenturyLink is coming to the rural areas of Colorado and Skybeam wants to grab as much $$$$ as they can now before better service arrives and Skybeam gets put out of business. Skybeam used to be really good, and now they are really bad.

Bandwidth consistently lower than what we pay for. Customer service condescending and ineffective.

Skybeam is by far the worst ISP I have ever had/dealt with and possibly the worst service you can get in all of the area they service. I had them at my house for about 2 years and my in laws had them at their house as well. After completely inconsistent service and daily outages at both locations and endless tech support calls with them they finally told me that they were tired of my complaining about their service and told me to cancel my contract. Also during the installation at my house the tech shattered a glass pane around my front door because they drilled into it, and didn’t bother to tell me. I didn’t notice for a few days so they told me that I wasn’t able to prove it was them. You couldn’t see it from the outside so I have just left it. I have been away from Skybeam for a year or two now but I was doing some computer work for a friend the other day and they told me that Skybeam now charges them $ 20+ a month extra for data overages. This is not in their contract and it doesn’t say anywhere on the Skybeam site that they have a data cap on their service. Essentially they lie to the consumer about what their bill will be and just hope that they don’t question it. They have 3 kids and do a bit of netflix streaming… Seems like pretty normal usage by todays standards so if you sign up with them I would add an extra $ 20 bucks to what they quote you for overages that you will be charged. So here is the deal… Their speeds are slower than everyone else in the area, They have constant outages and inconsistent service, They have low data caps and will most likely charge you extra per month, and if you bug their customer service they become downright rude to you. Skip em and go with the proven Comcast or Century Link. I guarantee you will get better service.

I live out rural and have been with them for over 6 years. They had to re-direct my dish to a new tower once. Service is excellent and I have not had any problems. I would recommend them. Great people! –CJ
