Excellent atmosphere. Excellent traditional English food. Good for lunch as I was doing business with Woodward right across the street that day. Cute and friendly waitresses. Gets busy at night.

The scotch egg was on pointe, the fish and chips were crispy and steaming(big piece of fish, truly gigantic!) the chips were delicious on their own. And you can never go wrong with Irish coffee

The owners are insanely nice! They have me come in and do readings once a month! I love the Mary Poppin’s Salad. It is my very favorite!

Some of the best bloody marys i’ve had not only are they good, they are huge! The real winner here for me are the fried ribs, such a unique idea and the flavor is 2nd to none. I have never had a bad meal here, wings, ribs, fish and chips, all excellent

We went to this restaurant, based on these Unilocal reviews. Our dinner was awesome! We ordered the fish and chips, and it was so delicious! Light beer batter, huge pieces of North Atlantic Cod fish, 2 pieces per order, each filet, bigger than your hand! Served with chips and homemade tartar sauce and a 2 ounce soufflé cup of coleslaw. They also have an extensive beer selection, with some amazing seasonal desserts. Will definitely be back.

Tried the fish and chips — fish was decent(better than most Midwestern fish) but the breading was off, too sticky. The fries weren’t worth the calories. SO had the lobster mac and cheese and he was not impressed. Service was ok. Doubtful we will return.

This is an English pub with mostly American food and bad service in Rockford. The place looks cool though aside from a dirty double decker bus in the front that looks as out of place as an English pub in Rockford. The food items are expensive and nothing worth to write back to Aunt Alice in England. Most popular item here is fish n chips

This place is a true local establishment.. The food seems to be really authentic. We loved the Cottage Pie, Fish/Chips, and Beer Battered Bacon. All was presented in clever ways — like the bacon came in a funnel and Fish/chips came on wax paper that looked like a newspaper(like they serve it in England). The owner came to our table when he heard we were heading to London soon. Great guy! Real British accent too. He said his mum is their cook. All the décor is interesting without being«too theme-ie». We’ve come on weekday nights and Sundays and were served quickly. I can’t comment on the weekend crowd but saw a list of their bands scheduled and it looks fun. That will be our next visit. Plus once the weather gets nicer, I saw that they have a beer garden.

I do like this place, let’s start with that. I like the atmosphere a lot, and drinks are good too. This is my first time trying the food here and I was not very pleased :(though I only tried two appetizers. I am willing and want to try dishes here and I’ll update my review if I have to.

Went here for fish on a Friday night around 6:30. There are not many parking options in their lot, so we had to park down the street. The place was packed and I was shocked we were able to be seated immediately. The ambience was very nice and made me feel like I was across the pond. It took a while for a waitress to come take our drink order and to check back on us, but once she arrived she was very pleasant. The menu itself is very clever and was entertaining to read. We both went with the Fish N Chips, and we were both really pleased! It was a very large serving with two large filets each. I was only able to eat one! The fries tasted excellent and fish was great too. Lightly breaded and nice flaky fish. We definitely will come back again. The atmosphere and food made it definitely worth while. I took away one star for the service, but I think I’d give her another chance.

First time here but glad I finally stopped in for lunch. It was early lunch so just me, another table and someone at the bar. The pub was like walking into a pub in England. The huge bar has a GREAT selection of beer and spirits! Very impressed. I have heard a lot about their food, especially the crispy ribs appetizer and traditional fish and chips. The ribs looked amazing. You get 4 meaty baby back ribs light coated and fried with an amazing Guinness bbq sauce. The only problem I had was that the ribs were dry inside. The meat needed some of that pork fat you find with spareribs. The only reason I say that is because i believe they are slow cooked ahead of time to be ready for the fryer. This cooking twice dried it out a. It more than I would like if I were doing it. But otherwise they were very good and entry to share. The fish and chips came next. They were served with tarter sauce, lemon and coleslaw on the side. Of course the malt vinegar was on the table. The chips were fantastic! Crispy, tender, seasoned well and not too greasy. The fish was another story. For lunch I got 2 giant pieces only made bigger with all of the batter. They had too much batter for me. But what made it worse was that they were very greasy. Oil poured out of the batter as I pressed down with my fork. However, the fish inside was perfect!!! Flakey, moist, delicious! Of course I used the malt vinegar. If the fish was mad a little lighter on the batter and not so greasy it would have been perfect! The mushy peas… they’re mushy peas! They were good and exactly as expected. They do give a bit more of the traditional English pub faire to the experience though. I gave it 4 stars because overall(wait staff, beer/spirits, atmosphere, food selection/taste) it deserved it. The food by itself was a little more than ok. My next visit will definitely be in the evening with a larger crowd, live music and will certainly include a scotch egg, bangers and mash and a Guinness!

I took my son on a Friday night at about 5:30, It was hard to find a parking spot, It wasn’t packed but it was full, A full parking lot is always a good sign. We were greeted with a smile and taken to our table, The smiles just kept coming our waitress was a hoot. She not only talked to me but also talked to my son who is 10, that’s a great waitress in my book. She came around to our table every 6 to 7 minutes and asked us if we needed anything, «how you guys doing» So I’m going to give the staff a 10 out of 10. The food was very good, we both had the fish&chips, I love the beer batter they used, and the fish inside was great. We were both very happy. A couple of the reviews said the food was expensive $ 12.00 for fish and chips. That’s not over priced for great food, great atmosphere, great Service and a live band! OMG a hamburger at five guys is $ 10, So if you’re looking for cheap food I suggest you go get a happy meal! And the total is $ 31.29 + $ 10.00 tip = $ 41.29 Dinner for 2 with a live jazz band! Not bad. We will go back

The food is ok, but the service is terrible. Have been there numerous times. They get you a drink and then you’re lucky if you see the waitress again until your food comes. Then they disappear again. The owner needs a wake up call. Please don’t tell the customers they are wrong. Their opinions should matter to you. Take the criticism and think about making changes. A few weeks ago I had the baked fish. It took 25 minutes! And yes, it was over cooked! Probably won’t be back.

Nice and quiet bar. They have fish fry Fridays, which makes them very busy around dinner time. The bar area could be bigger, but if you get a seat or table it has good atmosphere. The onion rings weren’t bad at all and I would recommend them over the mushrooms. I like the way they name their food on their menu; it provides a nice unique touch.

Great atmosphere and attentive staff. Love that they have pool, darts and chess, however the chess board was replaced with Halloween decorations when I was there last night The food in my opinion isn’t that good. Way to greasy and too big of portions I will definitely keep returning, the atmosphere and drinks are worth it
