Warm, friendly, attentive, lovely people running an old-fashioned cozy diner with decent food, great coffee and newspapers on the counter. Perfect way to begin a day. We will be back.

Love this place! I come here every time im in the area, i get the mexican omelette w egg whites and its delicious! My coffee cup never goes empty, and i never leave hungry. Fantastic service by a hard working family. Cozy, friendly atmosphere. …fresh ingredients hot off the grill, I have never been disappointed for breakfast! 10⁄10

The friendly atmosphere on its own deserves the five stars. The food is also great and delicious, comfort food at its best. It’s great to have such great breakfast options in one town, Cameo is up there with Vic’s and the Owl in a sort of Trinity where eggs, bacon and french toasts meet.

Ignore chump reviews like ones from Frank, guy doesn’t know what hes talking about. Read some of his other reviews and they were just laughable, that’s his kind of taste he has I guess. ^Edit: Removed the original part where I expressed my opinion of him being a chode and avoiding all his recommended places with his bad taste. I’d rather express my opinion on how great Cameo really is and giving it the praise it deserves. Lived in Lowell my WHOLE life, been around the city and back and Cameo is hands down one of, if not THEE, top 3 places in this city. Great, cheerful, super friendly staff and awesome food in a timely manner for a hot spot breakfast place. Owner always hooks it up, I cannot say I’ve had one bad experience there(as long as you don’t count waiting to upwards of 10 – 15 min, which at a breakfast place is not bad at alllll) Love the Pancakes, famous Cody’s beans, and the never disappointing Bacon Boot Mill. Only downside is they close so early! But I guess when you serve such a great product and are so successful you don’t need to stay open till 2 – 3:00 like other breakfast places. Keep up the good work Scotty and team!

In response to another Unilocaler-Frank– I eat here 5 days a week for Years and have never had an experience like the one you claim to. I’m thinking two things: one, you are probably the guy who goes in for breakfast and has scrambled eggs and requests that the yolks are not broken! I also believe that you may have a mild to moderate case of rectal-cranial inversion.

I really don’t understand how this place has over 4 stars. The food was extremely bland and the service quite slow. I’m edited the review later because my friend got sick after eating there and I was also feeling sick. Sadly the owner took my review as an insult, instead of an honest opinion or just one person, and reacted by sending me angry and offensive emails. This is just one guy’s opinion; Others seem to like it which is fine by me.

Family owned diner, husband cooking, wife and mother waitressing. Sign says«service with a smile» on the door and they never disappoint. Always a friendly hello and I can’t believe all the names they can remember. I go here every few months, wish it was more becAuse I’ve never had a bad meal. Long counter and 10+ booths. I’ve never waited too long for service however everything is made to order. Great place, check it out.

My sister and I stopped here for breakfast last Sunday on our way to see the Van Gogh exhibit at the Clark Museum. What a welcoming place. The service was excellent, and I have never had so many blueberries on a pancake! The owner greeted us and chatted on our way out; his teenage son, who was the cook, was responsible for all the blueberries, which his father proudly acknowledged. The regulars were greeted by name and warmly welcomed. Thanks to Unilocal for directing us there.

Delicious greasy spoon diner! We stopped in the day they were celebrating their 35th anniversary and we met the owner and his family. The french toast and home fries are outstanding. Looking forward to going back on the weekend for another filling and tasty breakfast.

Cameo is a one block walk away from my grandparent’s house. H and I walked over and realized that the small, free parking lot beside the diner is actually for patrons. Haha! Once you walk in, you’ll find that you need to seat yourself. It’s usually packed regardless of when you come in, so be sure to snag the first(or second) table or booth you see! I don’t quite remember what my H ordered but I remember ordering a bootmill(which is oh-so-Lowell). It was good… but I remember having better. I liked that my egg was nice and gooey. H ordered a sampler with pancakes, toast and eggs. He said it was just ok. On another note, our waitress was sooo dang nice! She was the sweetest thing.

Hidden Jewel, the owners where so nice and are hard working. Place was busy but they welcomed everyone. Food is great! Have to say it’s easily the best diner in the area. They smiled the whole time! Unique as any foodie can attest to.

The staff was very friendly and the food was good. Try the Jennie home fries. Waitress was on point with the coffee refills… that’s some A+ work right there.

Grew up in Somerville and moved to southern NH. Found the Cameo to be the best in the area. I find in NH they deep fry there homefries very lacking in taste. Every thing I have had at the Cameo is fresh an tasty. The owners are very friendly. I wish they offered lunch.

My husband became ill after eating here and the man has an industrial strength digestive tract. So why two whole stars? Because fancier places have failed to successfully cook both the eggs in my 2 egg breakfast over easy and I’ve gotten quite frustrated. I’m giving up on «brunch» and going back to diners. The ambiance is everything they say it is. The morning we were there EVERYONE but us had a tattoo. Yet no one was a hipster.

Friendliest diner in Lowell! You can’t help walking out of here without a smile on your face. The people behind the counter seen to know everyone’s name and all about their family. It’s quite amazing that in this time, there are still true neighborhood diners with this kind of love for the customer. The prices are great– the $ 5 special is always available. Quality of food is average and atmosphere is retro & worn, but it’s the people that will keep you coming back for more. ;-)
