Local, small town markets are turning into outlets for alcohol, stimulant drinks and cigarettes. Access to good food choices at a reasonable cost have become secondary. The C G Market in Lowell is an example of this. The food selection is almost completely canned, frozen or processed, with prices that reflect a lack of competition. Though located right in a prime location for agriculture and dairy products, forget trying to find any of this. The place is run down with floor sections that seem abandoned. The outside if full of spider webs and dead bugs. It seems to not have been cleaned in years. Very sad example of what is happening everywhere.
