Came here for a date night with the wife. Had a great time. Extremely clean and spacious bar area. Had the Luchador Burrito and had a tough time finishing it. I guess it is over 3lbs and is only $ 14. Could easily feed 2-great value. Can’t wait to come back when it’s warmer and hang out on the patio.

what a horrible first impression. My boyfriend and I walked in on a Tuesday night around 10:30pm. no hostess in sight until some girl told us to seat whatever we wanted. 2 different waitresses looked at us with no menu and ignored us for 10 minutes. My boyfriend walked over to one of them and asked if we could get a dinner and drink menu and we were told the kitchen was closed. Horrible costumer service, I would never come back and I will not refer anyone to this place.

Came to grab a bite before a couple of us checked out this part of Lowell. We had a scorpion bowl which comes in a HUGE glass that can be shared by a couple people. It’s similar to what San Francisco, CA has, but they put it in a huge bowl that can be shared by 10 people. Cool atmosphere, appetizers, and drinks.

Im from Long beach California, Lowell is my hometown, where i grew up and being back in this city have been nothing but positive vibes until i came to this bar late one night. Being a Cambodian American I cant help but shake off the racism vibe i received from being at Garcia, I mean i came here to have a good time visiting friends and family but i sure as hell don’t have a problem fighting anybody at anytime. Plus no matter what race you are you should always received the same service from a business, and i felt like my money was not good here. And these immature racist crowds need to grow up, we are all humans, just trying to live our lives.

This place is great! I’ve gone about 10 times since I moved to Lowell and I am always happy with the food. I am a big fan of the grilled caesar salad. Since it is a Mexican Irish pub you have a ton of options and makes it really easy for big groups to decide on one restaurant.

We came with a party of 6 after an event on a Friday evening in July. We came earlier than the rest of our party, but were able to be seated right away on the Irish pub side. Perfect timing because an Irish singer just began. An order of chips and salsa was brought over and once everyone was there our awesome waiter arrived. He was outgoing, made great recommendations and talked nice and loud over the music to make sure we could all hear him. My husband and I each got a Margarita and thought they were well worth it(I got a strawberry, $ 7 and my husband got one for $ 9 which was stronger.) our waiter also brought over a pitcher of water so we didn’t have to bother him or wait, loved that! Ironically we all ordered ‘Mexican’ items on the Irish side but it was fun! I got the chicken chimichanga it was large with no sides besides salsa but didn’t need it, very delicious. My husband got the steak burrito, about the size of Chipotle, he loved it said it was good quality steak. 2 friends ordered off the tostada menu and loved them. The other 2 ordered El luchador burrito and our waiter warned they were huge. We have a place closer to home so didn’t think it would be. It was at least the size of 2 Chipotle sized burritos! The said it was really good and a little spicy. Great atmosphere, great service, great food. Will be coming back! P. S. If you love tequila and scotch/whiskey they have lots of choices besides beer and margaritas.

Overall, very good. Awesome bar and outdoor seating. There’s plenty of space for the times it gets rowdy on the weekends. The time you go makes a big difference in the service you get, however that’s to be expected. The staff have always been very friendly here. The food is pretty good, but nothing amazing. They do some interesting takes on Mexi/Irish, like the Irish Nachos. It’s not an authentic Mexican place, but good nonetheless.

The atmosphere is great. The music is not too loud. Plenty of seating. Nice outdoor patio. Good staff. Reasonable prices. Decent food menu. Parking can be dicey on busy nights. Also, it can be a while in between visits from your waiter if the crowd is large. Good for work functions, or just for a quick stop after work to enjoy a cold one.

The menu exceeds the preparation, but for the size and ambiance Brogans still offers a reasonable experience. Spacious bar areas with pedestrian taps and low prices on every item remind me its a bar and event space first and foremost. Great salsa and satisfying guacamole really point to a happy hour headquarters rather than either a Mexican or Irish restaurant. The burrito bowl I had was billed as a grilled vegetable and bean burrito and the Baja with shrimp and haddock an obviously fish filled counter. Neither entre really presented much in the way of their respective veggies, beans, or fish and came filled with mostly medium grain rice; plenty of cheddar jack if that’s your taste. I’d advise a trip to chipotle and a good pack of craft if food is your desire; Brogans is chiefly a bar for friends and forgetting the workweek.

Nice atmosphere, ok service, huge place. I saw a dining room area, an upstairs and the bar /lounge area. The offered $ 5 bar food or Sunday«happy hour» snack menu. In any case, we got $ 5 burgers and nachos, which was a great deal. Sure, it was the typical Americanized Irish pub with junk food loaded with sodium and cheese, but the food was tasty and cheap, so no complaints there. They had a pretty extensive menu with Mexican food. Beer offerings were the typical Greater Boston /Merrimack Valley bar selection: your Buds, Coors, and Sams along with the necessary Irish selections like Guinness and Smithwick’s; however, the pub also offered some rotating drafts with microbrew options. In short, this place has a little of everything, so if you’re looking for or are into that, you found your place!

I have ordered food here before but nothing really to go crazy about haha. But the drinks, yes the drinks is what people usually go there for. They usually have live music going on the weekends or on holidays. Usually feature local artists, bands, and DJ’s. Can get a bit loud in there at times, but there’s two sections of the bar so maneuver along if it gets too loud haha.

Great selection of food. Fish tacos and fire shrimp tacos are delicious. Only one server on during the lunch rush, but they handle it well.

We were bar hopping on a Thursday and DT Lowell was pretty dead. Mostly we would have a drink and move on to the next idea. As we came into Brogan’s it was pretty quiet as well and then it seemed like a few of those people left shortly after leaving us in a mostly empty bar once again. The difference is, this time we stayed for a bit and I’m about to tell you why. As we looked over the drink menu, I was planning on ordering your standard margarita or something when my friend chimed in about tequila options. He’s a bonafide tequila snob but, rightfully so as he used to be a rep for Partida and worked as a bartender at Temazcal in Boston. The bartender suggested some tequilas for what we were looking for and my friend asked if he would make our margaritas without mix and just use agave and lime juice. The first look on the bartenders face made me think he was going to spit in our drinks for asking for drinks that require effort but, he quickly got over that and made the margs as requested. My friend was right and the bartender knew his shit. These were some of the best margaritas I’ve ever had. Since it was quiet, the bartender got to chatting with us. He then realized that my friend was not just some asshole that read how to piss off bartenders in a magazine and was actually well versed in his anejos. He’s really the reason we stayed. Instead of having a drink and moving on, we ended up trying other recommended concoctions including some of his favorite house drinks. We ended up having a great time. He knew that we were looking for something a little more lively and even recommended where we should go next knowing that we were likely taking our business elsewhere. I can’t remember his name but I think he was a manager. This is the type of guy you want behind a bar. Thanks again bartender guy… wherever you are.

I absolutely loved this place. It had a great atmosphere and friendly staff. We went around 930pm on a Saturday so by the time our food came to the table there was a band that started to play in the other room which was awesome. The food was also good. It’s a Mexican Irish restaurant so it had a little bit of both worlds on the menu. I had a burrito fiesta style(in a bowl instead of a tortilla). I haven’t had a burrito bowl that good in a long time! They also had a really awesome drink menu. Lots of margaritas and tequila, exactly what I want when i order a burrito!

Popular local place for drinks. Typical prices and bar atmosphere. They do serve food daily which isn’t anything special, but always fresh. Drink service can get slow on busy nights. Not a fan of music nights(band night, country, etc.) because the music gets really loud.

We were there on an early Saturday afternoon. It was perfect weather to sit in the outdoor seating area. Waiter was attentive and friendly. We were disappointed with the pulled pork nachos. The pork was clumpy, dry and not very flavorful. My country-fried chicken& bacon sandwich was very good… My wife had steak tacos which were ok. It was nice they had a flat screen you can see from the patio. We will be back. It would be nice to have live music earlier in the day & evening,

Food was okay. Drinks were okay. Service was okay. There ended up being a fire alarm mid-drinks, that was fun — especially because it was a cold and rainy night.

The bar is popular among the Lowell crowd as well people from the surrounding cities. The clientele is basically everyone who likes to drink. I’ve seen corporate white collars grabbing drinks after work at the court house or office buildings and I’ve seen the opposite spectrum. I’ll keep that vague. We usually like to go on a Thursday night and grab one of their Cactus Bowls for two. Since it was mild out, there were people sitting on the patio. I love that the shrubs and bushes makes the patio area semi private. The bar isn’t located in the most ideal part of DTL next to the transitional living center and parallel to a well known street where«Ladies of the Night» are known to hang out(Appleton Street.) We arrived shortly before 7PM and the bar was just starting to get busy. My husband and I sat at a high top on the«bar» side. Since I’m not a fan of sour mix, I ordered a Pineapple Dragon margarita made with tequilla, cucumber, jalapeño, agave nectar, mint and pineapple juice. It was delicious! Not to sweet and not sour at all. The Mr. stuck with Dos Equis draft beer. Being an Irish and Mexican pub/cantina, the restaurant features both Irish food and Mexican food along with some pub favorites. There’s shepherd’s pie and guinness beef stew for the Irish dishes and tacos, burritos, chimichangas for the Mexican palate. We started of with tostones, twice cooked plantains bananas served with guacamole. The portions were huge and the appetizer was delicious. It was my favorite dish at the restaurant. There was ample guac leftover for me to dip the complimentary chips in. Fish tacos are usually my favorite kind of tacos but I wasn’t that thrilled for the grilled tacos at Garcia’s. I’m used to the battered unhealthy artery clogging version and the«grilled» version left much to be desired. I thought the fish tasted a bit frozen and watery. For dinner, we got the Dublin sliders with caramelized onions and gorgonzola with balsamic reduction. The beef patties were moist and sweet. The bun was lightly toasted and the sweet potato fries on the side was crunchy and flavorful. Although the dish was listed with the apps, it would have been perfect as a meal for one. Came here last night on a Saturday and it was great. The female waitstaff were all extremely hot. which was awesome. I like the whole Hooters look without the slutty outfits. i’m a little more high-class than that… so it was perfect for me. They weren’t playing any music because there was a Bruins game on t. v which kind of sucked and as I was about to leave, they started playing live music which also sucked(as I’m about to leave, not that they sucked). Everywhere I looked there were hot college girls, the ratio was in favor of guys which was a giant plus. Now onto the service. The 3 guys at the bar were all awesome at their jobs, very accommodating and pleasant in demeanor. I ordered the steak tacos which were amazing! For the side, I ordered the calamari rings which … I have to admit were really bad. At 9.99 I was expecting something a little better but at least the serving was big but still. it wasn’t tasty. So to sum it up… Atmosphere was awesome, very nice vibe throughout the whole place Prices were good. Had a few beers each and food that only came up to 48 $ The clientele was awesome, the girls were all cute for the most part and the staff was awesome. Overall I would highly recommend Garcia Brogans for a nice night out with friends.
