This place is great. I am not someone who usually gets pictures framed. But, I had a few that were worth preserving properly and I went here. The staff was beyond helpful. I knew very little about framing and they helped me find something that was perfect not only for my pictures, but for my budget too. They were knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and professional. I plan on taking in more pictures to have framed soon. I have a few friends who are artists and they often go here to get their work framed. Whether you need something framed for your home or are looking for something to hang in a museum, this is the place to go. They also have tons of cool artwork in the gallery. You can check out local artists and buy their work! I love that they give back to the community. This is an awesome shop!

I have had several photographs matted and framed here. They do an outstanding job and have always delivered quickly. Owned and run by artists who understand the requirements and the challenges of cost effectiveness and presentation. They are more than willing to answer your questions and work with you on what you need. The store is right on the corner of Central and Jackson Streets in downtown Lowell. Check it out!

I’ve been patronizing Lowell Gallery since I moved to Lowell in 2007. All of my best and most valued art is framed by Lowell Gallery. The consistency and quality of the work is as outstanding as the artistic treatment to advise on framing, matting and glass options. The transition to the new owners a few years ago was seamless, and the new offerings for laser cut mats, print-​to-​canvas, and other services well-​complements the great selection of fine art prints offered in the shop. The service is outstanding, and the prices are extremely competitive. Highest recommendation!

Custom framing makes such a huge difference when it comes to both the presentation and preservation of your artwork that it’s totally worth it for many pieces. But it isn’t cheap, and the options can be overwhelming. The good news is, the small team at the Lowell Gallery can make the whole process much less painful for you! They’ll happily and tirelessly work with you to choose the right frame and matting (if applicable) for your piece and your décor. They’re friendly, funny, and really knowledgeable and skilled in their work (and they’re artists themselves!). Best of all, they can help you save money by suggesting small alterations to the overall plan (for example they might point out that doing a 2″ mat around your piece instead of 2.5″ would allow them to use stock sizes for the mat and frame, instead of custom-​cut sizes, to save $$).
Be prepared to spend some time working through all the details of your order. They’ll look at your piece with you, then talk with you about what you’re thinking in terms of finished look. If you have no idea, they’ll ask you questions to help narrow down the choices, then suggest some options for you. Even if you know exactly what you want, they’ll take you through the various considerations affecting cost, so you can make informed choices.
It’s hard to evaluate any framing shop on price because your final cost really depends so much on the materials you choose. But I can say that for the three pieces I had framed at Lowell Gallery, the price was on par with estimates I’d gotten from other independent framing shops for those same pieces. And when I consider the time the staff spent with me to make sure I got what I wanted at a price I could handle, I definitely feel I got more than my money’s worth!

These guys do a great job with printing and framing. They’ve framed two of my prints and they look fabulous on my wall.
