Horrible place for phở special number 17 on the menu Noodles were all short and broken into small pieces. Chopsticks were not used much i ate the noodle like rice porridge. The sprite was warm they gave me a cup of ice. I don’t want water down sprite. I will never come to this place again.

I went there around one pm and there were two other patrons dining there. I’ve heard this is the best location out of the three in the area. We had the soft crab shell to start and it was yummy! I had phở noodles and it was so good that I didn’t need to add much to the broth. I was a happy camper. The people were nice too.

Called ahead for takeout for my order to be ready at 6PM and I waited for 30 mins for it(an extra half an hour despite me giving them an hour notice) The chicken and shrimp salad was very bland and lacked the fresh herbs used. I was very disappointed. The Vietnamese salmon soup on the other hand was very good. It was full of flavor and on the sweeter side, how I prefer it.

Spring rolls better at Viet Thai, but this place has better phở. Horrible service though and dirty, old bathroom… recommend phở 88 if you want good phở and great fresh other Vietnamese food

We’ve been going back and forth between Phở 88 and both Phở Da Lat locations for two years now. Phở Da Lat is the more consistent of the two. I have never had a bowl of salty broth here. The portions may not be as big, but each bowl comes with chili pepper, you don’t have to ask for it. The utensils are clean and the décor nice enough to take out of town visitors. This restaurant is my favorite in Lowell. There are some outstanding places in Dorchester if you are willing to venture out a bit.

I’ve been to the other two Phở Da Lat locations, last night I tried the one on Chelmsford Street. My food was cold, I asked for glass noodles and got some other kind, but once heated up my chicken noodle phở was outstanding as usual.

Pretty good phở that comes in huge portions. My favorite though would have to be the Vietnamese crêpe… delicious! Not a super busy place at least when we went at dinnertime on a Sunday we were the only customers there.

Came here because I went on Unilocal to find out a good place for Phở! When arrived looked like a sketchy parking lot! Seems liked this was an old Pizza Hut building! If customer service is not a big deal for you, the food inside was delicious!!! The whole time I was here… the server only came to take the order & bring the food to the table & then once to bring the bill! It’s not a big deal to me may be a problem for someone who likes good table service!

I’m confused. Why isn’t the heat on? And why am I being charged money for hot tea, beef on the side and all other amenities that are typically standard at the other places in the area? I ordered beef on the side for my phở and I was charged $ 1. I didn’t realize that it takes $ 1 worth of effort to take the beef that would have been in my soup and placed on the side. Also ordered spring rolls. Not worth $ 4 for one piece of shrimp cut into thirds and placed on rice noodles. If I’m paying for all of these things, I would expect some classier amenities such as clean spoons without black stains on them… Apparently the money is not going towards basic cleanliness or utilities. If you’re looking for phở, don’t come here. You will be disappointed and cold(people are literally having their meals in jackets and hats)

Ever since I moved I really miss the food here. They have the best bun bo hue I’ve ever tried to be honest. Their pork chop rice plates are are pretty good. I suggest number 35 for the rice plate. Service isn’t even that bad. They’re actually quick with the food. 4 stars for bomb bun bo hue.

A vietnamese restaurant housed in a former Pizza Hut building? I’m so there! Enjoyable bahn hoi. It was the first time that I rolled my own in public… surrounded by vietnamese and cambodian people. My whiteboy self was a little self conscious at first. Bahn hoi is basically rolling your own summer rolls. You get fresh veggies and greens, herbs, pickled veggies, meat of your choice, bean thread noodles and nuoc cham. You get the rice paper sheets as well as a bowl of hot water. Wash your hands and pull up your sleeves, its time to get down to business. Soak, shake, roll, dip, eat, repeat. My meat choice was grilled beef. It was delicious. I ate it all… and the price was awesome! It was like $ 11 bucks! Dont forget the fresh limeade. Also, prior to deciding on my main course, I had the thit lui lemongrass beef skewers. Those were delicious… Ultimately i ended up doing beef for the app and main course… not really a problem! The service was decent and I had no cleanliness issues with the restaurant. I will be back.

Charged $ 1.00 for hot tea, sate, and $ 3.00 for another plate of bean sprout. How are you going to charge extra when your competitors don’t? They are extremely stingy with their portions. My bun bo hue had a few strands of noodles and a few pathetic pieces of meat. My boyfriend and I used to be regulars yet we were never acknowledged or greeted once. Never giving my money to this business again.

Love this place for pad thai and chicken phở(noodle soup). I’ve noticed over the years that they’ve gotten a little skimpy on the amount of vegetables they put in the pad thai, but the flavor is still so yum that I can’t stop going. I’ve tried other places in the area but this is still my favorite.

The grilled chicken on rice was wasn’t great, the fried spring rolls were awful and I didn’t get peanut sauce for my spring rolls. Kept asking the waitress but no one brought that out. I’ve been to a lot Viet restaurants, and never got charged for the pot of tea, we got charged at this place, seriously?! No Chinese or Viet place would charge money for tea. We’re never coming back here.

The only thing that’s slow is the check. Or maybe its just I’m used to other places handing you the check and expecting you to leave right away. Personally I dont mind. The Jasmine Limeade is great 9 times out of 10. Their dac biet is great, and I love their caramelized catfish. Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options for my girlfriend, so its a place a non-vegan can go with a vegan and neither will feel like they are making a compromise. I’ve never had a bad time here. Only thing I have to say is. I cant stand televisions in restaurants. But I am glad the volume is always on «mute» here. Can’t people eat and enjoy their food anymore with TV? But they don’t lose points for that, that’s my personal preference and therefore has nothing to do with the quality of the establishment. he only place where Phở Da Lat loses any points is sometimes the Jasmine Tea is a little watered down, and sometimes you really wait a LONG time for your check. Usually not a problem, but I cant give a perfect score because of it.

Now I’m not an expert on Vietnamese food but I am Chinese… so points on the Asian-ness perhaps? I’m just saying that I have a palette for Chinese cuisine and the phở here is very delicious. The location and the decoration are really nothing of note but my family and I have been coming here for years. It’s always a good option when we’re too tired to cook but want something that’s quick, close by, and not anything that’ll make us feel fat(as in, fast food or anything with cheese/grease). So I’ve always taken this place for granted but decided I needed to write a review about it when we lost power for two days and we drove for 2.5 hrs all around the area and we finally got here, cold, hungry, and tired from being cold and hungry. I was so so grateful. We ordered two extra-large bowls of their specialty phở(the one with every kind of beef). I also got stir-fried rice noodles because I’m usually not a big soup person. That dish was also surprisingly delicious. The green leafy vegetables were fresh and perfectly cooked and the plentiful slices of beef were very tender. Maybe it was because I was dehydrated and cold but I kept going back and stealing some of my parent’s phở. Oh, and they had two big flat screen TVs that were playing NFL games. Reminders of civilization! Phở Da Lat, I will never take you for granted again.

I visited this place on recommendation from a coworker, who insisted that I simply«had to try this place!» My coworker suggested I try the vermicelli bowl, and I was immediately hooked. Their vermicelli bowls are steamed noodles, topped with lettuce, mint, bean sprouts, cucumber, roasted meats/seafood, and a crispy spring roll. It’s delicious. I’ve also tried the chicken noodle phở, as well as the wonton noodle soup, which are both magical. Their chicken broth is the best tasting broth I’ve ever had, and I’m still trying to duplicate it on my own. The food here has a very clean and refreshing taste to it, so it feels and tastes like you’re eating something really good for your body(and soul). [Ugh, I can’t believe how corny I sound.] I frequently eat here, as it’s become one of my favorite lunchtime destinations. I should disclaim, however, that I’ve never tried any other Vietnamese restaurants, so I don’t have anything else to compare the food to… The staff is extremely accommodating and friendly. They’re always very pleasant and the service is pretty attentive. Sometimes the food takes a while to come out of the kitchen, which seems to be unrelated to the number of guests dining that afternoon. The only reason it doesn’t receive five stars, is because sometimes the dumpster in the parking lot smells like they dump their fryalator oil in there(the worst smell you can imagine), so I wonder about their kitchen cleanliness standards. The interior of the restaurant is immaculate, and it obviously doesn’t deter me from going back week after week…

Stopped by for lunch here with the little brother earlier. Décor was very soothing and relaxing, as you walk in you’re treated to rich colors of brown and beige with a tranquil aquarium with colorful fishes swimming in front of you. Ordered their Beef Curry Noodles and Phở Special, service was very quick and friendly, our dishes were served within 10 minutes of us ordering. Of course, as the old saying goes, the grass is always greener on the other side, so naturally my brother and I shared our dishes. The curry noodles came with generous portions of beef and thick noodles in a hot spicy dark brown broth, a little bit much on the greasy side but fulfilling none the less. Their phở came in a clear broth instead of the usual light brown that I’m used to getting at other Phở restaurants, it also seemed to of had just a little too much MSG, wasn’t really a big fan of it, had to add in a lot of extra garnishes just to get it where I would like it. Another thing that I wanted to add was that during our meal, as they were preparing for their dinner service, one of the servers started cleaning the condiment bottles by taking them from the table and wiping them down. As were we still eating, she came up to our table unannounced and grabbed the bottles from us, I mean yes its a slight thing but I just find it rude to do something like that as we’re eating, they could of at least waited until we were done. Besides that the food was alright, 3 solid stars for now, I’d like to come back on some other day to try their rice and stir fried noodles though.

Let’s hit the Hut! I was looking for a place for some lunch and decided on the former Pizza Hut on Chelmsford Street, actually Phở Da Lat’s second location. I was getting sick of eating at the Pizza Hut lunch buffet, too much greasy pizza. Other Unilocalers and myself have been getting some persistent compliments and PM’s from a «paul d.» who raves about Phở Da Lat on Unilocal and on another review site. Not sure if he is associated with Phở Da Lat(well it’s too obvious), but there may be heated competition for the best Phở in Lowell. I’ll make my own judgment. This Phở Da Lat location(formerly Thanh Thanh and a Pizza Hut) has a better parking situation than its other location on Middlesex Street and easy access from Route 3 and I-495. The inside of the restaurant is very casual with booth seating along the walls and curtained windows, tables for small and large groups and a fish tank. The menu is extensive and offers mostly Vietnamese cuisine(some Chinese) including phở bowls(small, medium, large), bun(vermicelli), rice plates, appetizers, Vietnamese salads, stir fried noodles, steamed vermicelli, traditional family style, stir fried vegetables, seafood, beef, chicken, pork, vegetarian, fire pot, and exotic beverages including several flavors of bubble tea and egg soda. The prices are reasonable. Weekday Lunch Specials from 11AM to 2PM($ 6.25 in 2⁄2009), mostly beef, chicken, pork, and tofu Chinese dishes are served with fried rice and soup. The menu and prices are on the website: I arrived here around 1:00PM for lunch. After I was seated, the waitress brought out a complementary pot of tea, lukewarm, but drinkable. I started out with 2 Spring Rolls($ 3.75) were very good, served cold with lettuce, vermicelli, shrimp wrapped in a thin rice paper served with peanut dipping sauce. For lunch, the medium bowl of Seafood Soup($ 6.95) which had shrimp, imitation crab meat, squid, scallions, and sliced fish cake, white noodles in a soothing chicken broth was served very hot with a big side of bean sprouts. The noodle soup was very filling and tasty. Overall, the food I had was very good and the service was attentive. This place was not crazy busy like Phở 88 during typical weekday lunch service. In and out in 30 minutes! I would give this place a solid 4 stars.
