The High-Line Group

My boyfriend and I drove an hour and half to high line motor group to look at 2 vehicles, a 2003 Honda pilot and a 2005 Acura MDX. We called first and spoke with John who told us both cars were on the lot and available. We rushed there to make it before closing time to look at both vehicles. The 2003 pilot wasn’t even on the lot and was at a different location apparently getting detailed. They contacted the person detailing the vehicle and they weren’t willing to bring it to highline motor group for us. John apologized said it was his fault and that we can still test drive the Acura and he will hold both vehicles for a deposit of $ 200.00. We test drove the Acura and made an appointment for Monday after work to come back and look at the Pilot. We decided to take our chances and not leave a deposit because we didn’t know if the vehicle will even be on the lot. John and my boyfriend (who is a mechanic himself) talked about what work needed to be done on the Acura MDX that we test drove. My boyfriend stated he wasn’t trying to nit pick he just wanted to be sure the car was safe for myself and our daughters. All 4 tires were dry rotted, the check engine light was on, VTM-​4 (4×4) light was on, and it was leaking oil badly from oil pan and transfer case. John acknowledged the issues with the Acura and that he will «hook us up». He said that when we come back on Monday he will even let my boyfriend put the car on the lift and go through the vehicle to be sure everything is good and let him know what else is wrong. On Monday we left work early to be sure we could get there before closing and called before we jumped on the hour and half journey for the second time. When calling we spoke with Brianna who said John wasn’t available. My boyfriend told her we were just looking to see if the pilot was on the lot because we were supposed to come look at it. She simply said she didn’t know and she didn’t know which pilot we were talking about. Never once did she ask if she could check for us nothing. So we told her which pilot we were coming to see and the issue we had on Saturday, we didn’t want another wasted trip. Ten minutes later she got back on the phone and told us it was on the lot we thanked her and continued on our way. Once arriving to High Line motor Group the Pilot was parked out front keys in ignition so we took a look. After my boyfriend, daughter and I looked the Pilot we went inside to look for John to see if we could put it on the lift and go for a test drive. When we entered the building it was a totally different atmosphere than Saturday no hello no greeting nothing. My boyfriend asked if we could put it on the lift as talked about on Saturday and John stated he couldn’t which he already agreed to Saturday, we let it be. He said the person that’s taking us for a test drive is out and will back soon so we went to go check out the Pilot more while we waited. Not even 5 minutes later John walked out huffing and puffing with the dealer plate in hand. My boyfriend told him the Pilot was definitely in better condition than the MDX but he had a couple question. He asked John if it was possible to do all fluids and check out why the SRS light was on before leaving with the car if we decided to purchase. John got hostile said he was not doing anything that didn’t need to be done. After checking the fluids himself my boyfriend told him that it did look like they needed to be changed and would he do it. John then asked my boyfriend how he knows it wasn’t already done. We asked him for the service records then John stated he can’t get them and wouldn’t have them which we didn’t understand because John claimed to sell the car to an older couple 2 years back with only 3000 less miles on it. John also stated That there’s no way possible to get them. We told him some should be on the car fax. We then asked if the SRS light would be checked out. That was our main concern. He said it’s not a big deal and it’s probably nothing and not to worry about it. The last thing we needed was a safety issue with air bags or the seatbelt with 2 little girls in the car. My boyfriend told him that he didn’t understand the problem that he was more than willing to work with us on Saturday. John then got extremely hostile in front of my 6 year old daughter raising his voice at my boyfriend asking him if he has a problem with him that he will rip the plate right off the car. My boyfriend told him he didn’t understand the issue that he’s just asking if these things are going to get taken care of and that we’re paying customers that there’s no reason to talk to him that way in front of our daughter and began walking away. John then yelled across the parking lot yeah and what are you going to do about it? My daughter got nervous so I went and put her in the car while my boyfriend went inside to speak with the owner who was also hostile not letting him finish his sentences while he was trying to explain the issue. He apparently was also

I recently visited this dealership and was appalled at the rudeness and lack of professionalism of the salesman John. He did not introduce himself when I arrived, even though I had set up an appointment and he was sitting and chatting with a co-​worker. When I returned from my test drive John was rude and dismissive, he did not offer a place to sit or answer questions clearly or logically. While we were talking he frequently interrupted to speak to other co workers about social things. The one positive was Fabio, he was friendly and welcoming, he should be the guy behind the big desk instead of John who obviously has zero people skills.

LEMONS FOR SALE! Ill make it as short and sweet as possible; First car bought only $ 3,000 Kia, well I took it to Jiffy lube to get an oil change and was told my car frame was dangerously rotted and should not drive the car. (Only ⁵⁄₆ months with the car) Went to go speak to management and was ordered out, called a liar, and a few other racial comment were thrown. (which I have recorded). Few days later after speaking to the attorney general I get a call from the other brother being told to come in. Came in got the car checked by them they wouldn’t give it back it was a liability on them (No apologies given); no substitute car given nor rental (was carless for a week). Had to go back in a week to check out other cars because they refused to just give me my money back; we did a «swap out» (HAD NO CHOICE) and I had to take out a much larger loan for a 2008 mazda (with no discount for the car). Got the car in October was driving home from work and BAM there went my motor. Took it to several mechanics including Meineke and was told by ALL of them the car was sold to me like that. No light ever came up on the dash. Now im sitting here with a over $ 9,000 loan and a car not even 6 months in my possession needing a new motor. Thanks guys you truly are a SCAM!
