Many fond memories. It has been nicely maintained and the walkways are full of people walking, running, bicycling, skateboarding, roller skating, etc. I love walking at sunset, taking in all the sights and sounds of the river. There’s the regular faces, and meeting someone new. Free movie nights and boat rides in the summer! And ice cream is right across the street. Plenty of benches to sit and watch the water, and the UMass Boathouse has rentals if you are feeling more adventurous and active.

Last night I made my first visit to the Boulevard this year. First of many. I enjoy walking and running here. Usually there’s a fair amount of people. The lighting at night could be better but I’m usually not there when it’s that dark. I just put my headphones on and go. Sometimes I’ll bring a book with me and read for a good while. If I’m looking for some solitude and to be alone in my thoughts, this is where I come. Great place for dog walking as well.

Fond childhood memories of this area. The boulevard is a great area to walk around and there are sometimes music concerts here, too. You can run across the street and grab an ice cream from Heritage Farm — great place.

Awesome! My girlfriend and I took a walk from here all the way over the School St bridge and then onto the National Historic Canal trail. There is a paved path that runs along the water. There is also areas with lots of grass the come up to the water. It was a cool experience offering many interesting sights. I see people jogging along this when it’s warm out. BTW, keep an eye out for the granite stair cases that go down into the water(from the wall).

On Monday nights, Heritage Ice Cream(across the street) sponsors free music concerts. There are other events on the other days of the week, too. There’s a paved foot path along the river. There are lots of benches and there’s a small yet decently maintained beach with public restrooms. There are a couple of small parking lots that fill up quickly, but it’s okay to park along the street. The paved foot path along the river is over one mile long. Great for urban hiking, walking, strollers, exercise.
