My parents love this place. but I can’t see why. I’m not gonna say it was awful but it’s definitely not what I was hoping it would be. The salsa is basically flavorless. And the food. well we had the Garcias special which consist of a taco, tamale and beef enchilada. It was sub par. The beans and rice were good but the rest was just not flavorful. I will say the service was good. Our waitress was on point and very friendly. Id say if you love Abuelos or any other watered down Tex mex you’d prolly like Garcias.

The service was very good. Unfortunately I was not able to sample the beer menu. The food was better than average. Had the tamales and the flavor of the masa was very good. The chili sauce was average; a bit thick. The guacamole was average. The green salsa was wonderful and vastly improved the guacamole when mixed in

I had lunch at Garcia’s yesterday and they were super busy. Friendly hostess and waitress, awesome hot sauce, chips a little thicker than I like, fantastic carne guisada, and my coworker’s chili rellano looked terrific. Somehow Garcia’s fell off my regular rotation, but after yesterday, they’re back!!! I need to go back soon for dinner and margaritas

I like my texmex. I’m picky. I don’t waste time or $. This is my number 2 spot. Combo plate. The guacamole is the best in town. Sopapias are the best here too. A little hole I the middle of the pillow of love. Slip in the butter. Let it melt now. Then load in the honey. Yummmm yummm good. On a cold wintery day you can’t bet beef or chicken enchiladas with 2 eggs over easy.

This is our go-to Mexican restaurant because it’s close to home, easy to get into, and usually tasty. The only complaint I have is that the salsa is often too hot for me! I always get the stuffed sopapilla, which seems to be a unique-to-west-Texas thing, because I’ve never had it in other parts of the state. Service is usually good, quick, and friendly!

Really good Mexican food. Used to eat here when they were in Colorado City. Only complaint I have is the tacos are greasy so they fall apart quickly. Excellent other than that. Really good service.

Garcia’s has good basic mexican food. Since its in a strip mall, its difficult for there to be much atmosphere. Overall clean and presentable. Chips are made in kitchen and tasty. Hot sauce is good. Food overall good.

The food here was okay. The chips and salsa were pretty bland. The service was pretty good. I would not however recommend people here. There are far too many choices to settle with Garcia’s.

Service was alright. Friendly staff Food was bland. Not much taste. Enchaladas were mediocre at best. Would not recommend this place. Nor will I ever come back.

The food was good… very fresh and as good as any of the best text-mex I’ve had. The only complaint was very slow/poor service, which would not keep me from going back unless it is a constant occurrence. So for now will count it as an off day.

Wasn’t bad, wasn’t good. The waitress didn’t know what tequilas they had available for a Mexican restaurant so that was odd. I wouldn’t go back on my own but I wouldn’t refuse an invitation. It was just okay, which for some isn’t bad at all.

Love this place, food tastes like the Mexican restaurants I grew up with! Every dish is good! The only complaint I would have is they don’t provide enough napkins to clean up my usual mess — unless I ask for more

This is one of my faves when returning from the east coast. Great food and a nice atmosphere. Very similar to Leal’s which is what I grew up eating. When they’re busy it can get a bit loud but just focus on your plate and all is good!

Absolutely the best Tex Mex food in Lubbock. I had just about giving up on finding good Tex Mex in Lubbock until I found Garcias. Every other place was of fast food quality like Taco Villa, Taco Bell or Rosias. On the Border may be fair if they didn’t ruin the food with too much chile powder. Garcias doesn’t over wham you with it. Yes it’s a bit noisy but tell me what restaurant in Lubbock that isn’t? I have never found the service too be bad. Yes, some servers were better than others but never bad. Finding a parking space really close is usually hard due to the location in this shopping center but you can find one not far away. I find it hard now to go much longer than a week without my «Garcia Tex Mex Fix«.

Food and service were terrible. Wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone!!! Received nothing but excuses from what we were told was the«general manager» We have eaten here before and it was great but everything has gone way down since then.

I am always pleased with the food I order. The staff are friendly and for the most part the service is good. During peak times there can be a wait but it usually moves quickly. The only thing I’m really not impressed with is their margaritas.

My wife and I had lunch here today. The service was terrible and the food not much better. I don’t recommend Garcia’s at all, there are much better mexican food places in Lubbock.

If you don’t expect anything fancy you won’t be disappointed. This is just good, «small town» Mexican food.

It’s Tex-Mex. What else can I say? But it was pretty good tex-mex. And there was a lot of it. Our service was nice and made sure we were well taken care of. Teas were refilled. Chips were replenished. And we each got our own salsa dish. The queso was also delish, but a tad thin. I had the flour enchiladas filled with beef fajita meat. BIG portions. I only got 2⁄3 through my first enchilada before giving up and putting the rest in a to-go box. If you’re nearby, it’s a great lunch option. But I wouldn’t go out of my way for it.
