This is a fabulous restaurant with authentic food and a great variety of choices. I enjoy their gyro and breaded pickles. The service is friendly and has me going back several times. Their baklava is a must-eat along with their many other desserts.

I LOVE this place. About 5 years ago my best friend asked me where I wanted to go for my birthday. I said there because I wanted to try something new, fun, and different. Every time I go, I get chicken schwarma or the gyro. I also get a small Greek salad and get some baklava for dessert. I’ve tried other things over the years, but what I’ve mentioned is my favorite. I’ve been about 15 – 20 times and I have NEVER had a bad experience. I’ve brought people there and they’ve all loved it. It’s a hole in the wall family operated place. Some people on this site need to get over themselves. No, it’s not fancy but who cares? You just order your food at the register, find a place to sit, and they bring you your food. It’s not a full service type place. Get what I mentioned and you won’t regret it. I’m getting hungry just typing this review!

I would like to give this business a higher rating on the possibility that their food is good, but honestly, I didn’t stay here long enough to try it. If their dining room is filthy, I can only imagine what is brewing in the back. Went with a friend during slow business hours, with one other group of two seated. Our table was sticky, seats had stuff dripped on them and were ripped and uncomfortable. Other tables had not been cleared. And as we were leaving, I noticed a hypodermic needle under one of the plants out front. Overall, I just didn’t want to eat anything served here. The friend I went with said she’d had a good experience here years ago, but this was not our day. I’ll take my chicken shawarma without the salmonella, thanks.

Went back to It’s Greek to Me a couple of weeks back and was again very happy with my experience. My wife and I both ordered the Chicken Shawarma and it was great! The portion size was a bit small, but it was delicious. We also had spanakopita and hummus as appetizers and they were very good. I originally ordered the moussaka, but they were out that night. I’ll definitely be back for the great food and friendly atmosphere.

Been driving past this place for years. The family and I final stopped in and I’m glad we did. The service was great and they are very friendly. I had the chicken Gyro and the wife had the chicken shawarma based on the staff’s recommendation. Both were awesome. The kids had the chicken fingers and they are as good as chick-fil-a’s. We also tried the baklava and lady fingers. Not sure why there was a bad review because it was great. Next time you are looking for something different in Lubbock and you are tired of the chains, give this place a shot.

Love this place family owned very friendly! The gyro is amazing I like mine spicy. Also the chicken shawarma(maybe or similar) is fantastic. I would recommend this place to anyone. I have taken quite a few people that have never had greek food and they loved it too. Plus there is a small greek market where you can buy authentic greek groceries!

I have been pass the place multiple times but havent stopped due to the negative and lack of reviews. I have been missing out! I had the gyro platter no fries extra greek salad and an order of dolmas. The gyro meat was so great, tender and moist. Really fresh crisp salad. I dropped 1 star for the dolmas — wasn’t terrible but not as good as I have had before. This is a mom and pop place all should try. I will be back before leaving Lubbock this trip.

I’ve had no problems at this place. The grape-leaf wrapped stuff was good, as were the Gyros. It was all good to me.

Uh. No. Dirty. Soda machines out of order. Tea. Soured. French fries with Greek food not baked Greek potatoes or rice. 1×1 square of Baklava no honey and dried out. Ordered and paid for the lemon soup but it was spoiled so they didn’t serve it. I would skip this one.

The place is big, but kinda used. Service seems crazy slow since it looks like it’s a family run place. We got there at the start of lunch hour and it was still quite awhile til we got our order. When it finally did arrive it was terrible. The food tasted like it was on the verge of going bad. My husband ate his, I couldn’t even swollow mine. He had a Beef and Lamb Shwerma. Which he finished with a look of a condemned man on his face. I had the chicken Kabob plate. The rice wasn’t even cooked all the way! and the Chicken tasted like it was days old and boiled to make it edible. Never again! Stay away from this place!

We ordered our food and went to find a table. Not one table was clean. Owner said they were short handed today! Wife & I both had the Gyro. Pita bread was not fresh, not much lamb/beef and mabe a teaspoon of cucumber sauce. All in all, skimpy sandwich. 2 Gyros &2 cokes $ 16. We will not return.

Food is really good! I had the spicy gyro combo which I thoroughly enjoyed. It came out to about $ 9.50 which felt a little too expensive but they do have a lunch buffet for $ 9.99 but it looks kind of sketchy. The facility itself is a big reason I didn’t give it a higher rating the décor is VERY tacky but that’s kind of the whole Greek charm, but it’s real low point were its bathrooms YUCK!

Mayonnaise in the Tzatziki. I don’t think one could ruin Greek food anymore. I got ½ of a crusty old pita for the Gyro Platter which I saw them pull from store bought bag. They use the cheap crappy pitas nonetheless. Try somewhere else. It’s seriously better to go without then to eat at this place.

So, I’m a big fan of Greek food. I travel for a living, and everywhere I go, I’m always looking for a good gyro or falafel. Out of all of my travels, It’s Greek to Me is by far the best greek food stateside. They had the best gyro that I’ve ever had, as well as the best boba ganoush that I’ve ever had! Try their gyro spicy, and you are in for a treat! They also have home-made hummus and greek deserts, as well as great french fries! It’s a small family owned restaraunt, made evident by the fact that any given afternoon on a school day, you could be served by their adorable children, or they can be seen doing their homework at the table next to you. I was in Lubbock for 3 weeks and ate here at least twice a week. They were all very friendly, and would greet me as I entered the establishment. More people need to eat here, as it would be a shame for such a wonderful restaurant to go out of business!
