I tried neglecting this place as long as possible to piss off a buddy at work, I admit I’m stubborn. But when I gave in I was in for a pleasant surprise! My breakfasts here consist of the amazing breakfast pita or the French toast sticks. My lunch/dinner selection is the ultimate cheeseburger on sourdough. The breakfast menu is my favorite but that could be because when I’m cruising for early morning food I’m usually on my way to the office and every diversion is appreciated. The staff here is almost always friendly but the service is so quick that they don’t like when you try to ask them questions(especially things that don’t apply at Jack in the Box, which are fun to ask just to get a genuine response). Questions like ‘how are the falafel’ and ‘is it too early to order the McRib’ are entertaining but met with the expected fast food bravado.

FINALLY, my first opportunity to try Jack in the Box, and jumped at the chance. We don’t have these in Chicago, so I’ve been curious almost all my life to see what all the hype is about. From what I understand, Lubbock in particular has been lacking Jack in the Box since 2003. There was always speculation as to why it closed. Rumors persisted about a person dying of food poisoning. Oh well, it happens. Luckily for the citizens of Lubbock, they’re now alleviated from the long 8 year hiatus. They can now get their greasy fix at all hours from this 24 burger joint that also has tacos. Yes, tacos. We came here at about 1am(I’m guessing. I was blasted) and the drive through was packed. I’d say the wait was quick, but I’d be lying. But nonetheless, 20 minutes or so later, we got our food. I had the sourdough chicken club sandwich. Hella good. Curly fries. Kick ass. Not much more to say about it. Satisfying late night meal that I managed to keep down. I envy states that have Jack.
