This is a pretty great place to bring young kids to play! I’ve brought kiddos here with a picnic lunch and eat at a picnic table under a pavilion. As can be expected with many local parks there was some trash and other gross factors so we had to choose our picnic table carefully. The actual play structures are really neat. I would say they’re the best in Lubbock. At least from what I’ve seen. There’s also some good seating for parents to sit under a tree and be able to keep an eye on their kiddos. A favorite game I’ve noticed tends to be hide and seek as there’s lots of good places to hide and lots of obstacles to jump around on when running from the seeker. My only real complaint is that it could use some more attention and maintenance. I noticed the remains of poorly cleaned graffiti and broken fencing. There is trash mostly around the outside of the park(still within the fencing). With a little more tlc this place could be as awesome as I’m sure it was when it was brand new!

Very cool little area and fantastic for kids. The bathrooms were«closed for winter», which seems pretty ridiculous, and that meant we watched multiple kids utilize the grounds as a restroom which is gross.

when we were in Lubbock, I wanted to take the kids to play here, but they were painting! Yes, painting so all the kids were sad because they were looking forward to the playground before we went to Joyland Amusement Park, but when they blocked off the area to paint we were all disappointed.

I took my niece and nephew here to tire them out a bit after sitting through a movie. I didn’t expect my girlfriend and me to have to much fun there, too. The Good: This place is HUGE. There’s something for everyone to do. There are always lots of other kids and groups hanging out there too. This means that my niece and nephew can always find a little friend to play games with. There are benches to have picnics at virtually each corner of the playground. The playground is under 24hr surveillance, so that keeps the riffraff out. I remember the not-so-family-friendly things that used to go on at parks when I was younger. This measure at least minimizes that. There was a cotton tail rabbit family living under one of the benches. The bunnies were so cute I wanted to throw up. The Bad: Only port-o-potties. For a place like this, they should definitely get some real restrooms built. Everything is made of wood. After a while I’m sure it will crack and there will be splinters aplenty. Overall: Why didn’t we have a playground this cool when I was growing up? Geez.
