How to get a photo matted, in six easy steps:
1. Take photo in. Have dimensions ready (18×24 overall size, 12×18 opening).
2. Return to pick up work.
3. Discover it’s been matted to wrong size (16×20, so they didn’t even get ONE dimension right). Leave to be fixed with promise that it would be done «tomorrow.»
4. Two days later, go to pick it up. It hasn’t been fixed yet, but the employee tells he’ll do it right then.
5. Go back to pick it up. Another employee brings it out, and there’s a gray smudge on the white matt. Leave it, once again, with the promise that it will be done «tomorrow.»
6. Return the next day and it’s finally ready.
Yes. SIX steps for what ought to have been a two-​step process. I will not be coming back here to get things framed.

A place for the teacher and the art fiend:
Location Location Location:
This Michaels is located on the South Loop and Slide in one of our most popular shopping centers. Its fairly easy to find and its big competitor is just across the street but this location has been around for years. So don’t worry about trying to shop around.
The Store:
They have always been up to date on their seasonal goods which has been a help to my mother that shops here on a regular basis. As for myself I have found that they have been a big help when trying to find supplies for teaching or school in general. They have started to have classes with local artisans that has helped to show off the talents of our local artists.
Overall:
I think this is a great location for any store and would encourage everyone to start their art search here before going on to larger pastures, you might just find what you need in this more handy location.
