I moved here from Kentucky and didn’t want to sign a lease before I saw a place. They went into the apt I would actually be renting, not the model, and took any picture I asked. I arrived in town a day early and they allowed me to get the keys on short notice. Any problem I’ve had, typical wear and tear, was fixed the same day. They are amazingly helpful and I love living here. Only complaint is the outside looks very worn and the landscaping leaves much to be desired. However, the inside is very well maintained and one bedroom is the perfect size!

This has been the best apartment experience I have ever had. I moved in over 3 years ago and have loved every minute. I am a student at Tech and the location is convenient(5oth & Slide, a 10 – 20 minute drive to campus depending on traffic/Marsha Sharp… i.e. 10 in the mornings, 20 driving home at 5pm) yet far enough away from school to avoid crime and immature student neighbors who don’t have respect for property. The tenants are a pretty big range of individuals, some graduate students, singles, couples, a few families, professionals, older adults, a handful of undergraduates, and everyone is very friendly and neighborly. You don’t have to worry about discourteous neighbors or large parties or randoms driving through the parking lot(which is covered for the most part, which is nice in winter). I feel very safe living here. Cheryl, the manager, is wonderful and always available(during business hours), and the whole staff is very kind and courteous. Over the years, I have had a few routine maintenance requests that have always been handled the day I submit them, and the grounds are professionally done every Monday and always look great with flowers. Trash NEVER overflows the dumpsters(I have come to determine that the trash situation is the factor that is the most telling of a good complex, so if you are looking for an apartment, eye if they have neat dumpsters!). The main office has a regular schedule for preventive spraying for pests every other month and in over three years I have NEVER ever ever seen a bug. The complex is older, maybe built in the 1960s or so, but it has been maintained very well over the years and the apartments have character. The whole complex is very neat. There is a bodega on the south border and an elementary school on the West border, and a wonderful, large park with a playa lake(DuPree Park) on the East border. It is a very relaxing park and I spend hours there in the summer; lots of people bring their dogs and there are always people out jogging or walking around the lake or feeding the ducks. The complex is located in a very safe, very nice neighborhood where I walk or run every evening. I could even walk to the mall if I was inclined or needed to have work done on my car at Goodyear or Discount Tire(which is a plus for a single). I really love living here and have never ever considered moving since I came to Tech. I graduate in summer ’12 and I am not looking forward to moving away. It is really wonderful, and if you are looking for a quiet place to rent in a great location, I highly recommend the Sundowner on 55th and Utica.
