The service was nice as well as the food. The atmosphere was quiet and a little bit romantic. Parts of the menu are not written in English so before ordering what you don’t know, ask! I ordered something that I didn’t enjoy eating even though it was tasty!

I wish I had great things to say about The Vine. Currently I don’t. I keep hearing people rave about how good it is and I have decided I will try it again one day. Until then I will say the pasta in my dish was extremely mushy and over cooked. I ordered the seafood pasta. I was very disappointed to find the shrimp in my dish were the tiny shrimp people put in shrimp salad at a grocery store. My husband got the beef stroganoff and it was cold with pasta just as mushy as mine. The appetizer of prosciutto bruschetta was good, just not good enough to carry the whole meal. I will be back to try again. Another sad part was how expensive the bill was after getting such average dishes.

Went here for the first time for brunch and ordered the chicken and waffles. My friend ordered the banana waffles. The chicken was well cooked and the eggs were amazing! Our server, Lindsey gave great service and gave great advice on what to order. Will be returning soon!

It was… Okay. In every aspect. Decent ambiance. A little claustrophobic, and I had to almost whisper to my dinner date. My server was really nice but spilled a lot of our drinks when pouring them. My meal was not worth what I paid for it. My best recommendation is to come here on an intimate date for dessert and champagne.

I previously gave the Vine a glowing review. I think I spoke too soon… the food is always excellent, but the experience of going out to eat isn’t always about the food. The last time we went, the hostess, Roxanne was so rude that we just cannot ever go back. I do love the food and the servers but Roxanne was too rude and snobby to ever go back

Great atmosphere for a date night. Excellent server! Good wine. Good lamb chops. All around great experience dining here. I’ll be glad to come back and try more on the menu. The servers knew lots of couples by their names. Apparently lots of regulars. This was my first time.

Worst unfriendly family Restaurant in all of Lubbock. If u have a child under 9, won’t even seat you. This is a horrible policy for an even more horrible establishment. I hope they burn down soon!!!

Casual romantic atmosphere with exceptional gourmet food, and the service was spot on. My parents and my wife and I enjoyed drinks, 4 selections from the appetizer menu, and two deserts for a very reasonable price. Everything was not only beautiful to look at, but also exquisite to taste.

Not terrible, but not the best either. The atmosphere was great, service was quick and friendly. My dinner was pricey, and definitely didn’t have the flavor to justify the price. The shrimp were tough, and the creamy pesto sauce was practically pure pesto. Dessert was fantastic, a crêpe stuffed with ice cream and covered with berries. Maybe I just ordered a bad dish off their menu, but it honestly was one of the few dishes that sounded appetizing.

Went here the other night with a group of 15 people. Not one person was very impressed with their meal. I had the margarita chicken and was disappointed. The vegetables lacked flavor, the mashed potatoes were very basic and didn’t go well with the green chile chicken. My boyfriend got the seafood pasta and didn’t care for it. Two people at my table got steaks and asked for them to be cooked medium rare and they came out medium well. For the price, it was a huge disappointment. The only thing any of us really enjoyed was the wine.

Why have I not been here sooner???, this restaurant is definitely one of the best ive ever been to! The food was amazing! Served hot and fresh and the flavor … Ahhh! The service was more than you could ask for… Fun, great recommendations, professional and attentive but not intrusive. Loved our server!!! Will be back every time I come to Lubbock.

The stuffed artichoke hearts with goji berry sauce were amazing – best appetizer we’ve had all year. Crepes were very good & filling, Chicken Romana was delicious with great pasta. They pour a heavy glass of wine, which was nice, and brought homemade pretzels for us to munch on while we perused the menu. A lovely evening.

Abysmal food. My mushroom soup was cold and swimming in white wine. My pork schnitzel was thick and cold. My husband’s purple red cabbage was inedible. 4 months deployed and he spit it out. The truffles fries were cold and over peppered. I haven’t been this disappointed in a very long time. I’m so disappointed I’m waiting to pay as I type this. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Lackadaisical service, schizophonic music and other patrons who had appetizers before they had water. This was a terrible decision as a nice dinner to surprise my husband with after his most recent deployment.

I’ve eaten at The Vine numerous times in the last few years. When we have visitors we usually bring them here because the menu is so varied and interesting and the standards were very high. But I had a bad experience there that I think will change that. I’ve been gluten free for about 20 years so I remember the days when restaurants had never heard that term. When I asked our waiter about gluten free options, he asked the cheff to come out and talk to me about what was possible. The cheff said they could substitute a gluten free rotini pasta for the spatzle that came with the stroganoff and if I wanted the Mykonos salad they could substitute a gluten free toast for the pita chips. When the waiter came back to take my order I chose the stroganoff but he forgot to note gluten free and when it finally arrived it was the spatzle. I immediately sent it back and he apologised. It took a long time to come back and when it did there was an enormous pile of an indiscernible carbo mush covering most of the stoganoff. I couldn’t tell if it was overboiled pasta or watery mashed potatos and when I asked the waiter he didn’t know either. Just to add a little insult to injury, the one vegetable side of what looked like a provencal tomato had been removed because it had bread crumbs, and nothing else had replaced it. I know they had asparagus on the menu that night. I sent the whole thing back because it looked disgusting and was definitely not what was promised, and changed the order to the salad which I thought would be easier for them. Nonetheless, it took a long time again and my husband was finished by the time I got my food. The experience of dining there was ruined and although we weren’t charged for the stroganoff there was no acknowledgement from anyone that this was kind of a debacle. It will be sometime till I go there again. They used to care more about their quality.

My family and I came here for dessert and we were all hesitant to walk inside. First of all, the outward appearance is unexpected, my brother and I were the first to walk in and this very strong pungent smell hit us. We all stood in the doorway awkwardly and contemplated whether or not to leave(it was that bad). We decided that we really wanted to try their crème brûlée, which was worth it. So if you don’t mind the smell or the sketchy building, then go try it.

Food is mediocre at best and seemed like they took lazy shortcuts to prepare the food. Very cramped and small rooms get loud with only a few people occupying them. Worst of all, they don’t know how to charge a card and charged me twice the first time, and another 5 times when I tried to fix the problem. Huge hassle. Never planning on going back to that pathetic excuse for a restaurant. I recommend everyone stay far away from this terrible place, unless you want to get thoroughly disappointed.

What a delightful little treasure tucked away in Lubbock! I was pleased with the service and the food beat all of my exceptions. I had dinner one night and when the staff informed me about brunch on Sundays, I had to check it out as well! Dinner-The hamburger was amazing, and the beef stroganoff was absolutely delicious. Brunch-I was absolutely thrilled about the bloody Mary bar and the brunch selections on Sundays! Who would not want to stir there Bloody Mary with a slim Jim? The staff was very knowledgeable, and the service was Fantastic! I will definitely be visiting this establishment frequently!

I visited The Vine one time while visiting Lubbock to watch The Old 97’s show in town that weekend. My experience at The Vine was awesome because: 1. Headed straight to the bar to eat and drink 2. Ordered the fillet 3. Ordered a very good Cab Couldn’t ask for a better meal for price anywhere. Bartender was super friendly to my girlfriend and I. She provided samples when we were curious about something, etc. I always believe you get what you bring into a situation. Be interesting and others will be too. Don’t look for a high tone experience(your in Lubbock, TX for gods sake), order the right food with good wine, and you’ll be all set. Give it another shot with a different set of expectations. Its like watching Napoleon Dynamite the second time. Wulf and Jacki Lee

First off, The Vine is kind of hard to locate. It’s in a dumpy looking little strip center, and is a masterpiece in the art of urban camouflage. You can drive right by it assuming it’s a transmission shop or an exterminator business.(Alister MacKenzie would be proud). A bigger sign would be helpful. Still, it’s worth finding. Our waiter was very helpful; a very nice fellow. He knew a lot about the dishes and the wines. But damn he talked slow. Granted, I talk pretty fast for a Texan, but this guy was sloooooooow talkin’. I worked up a pretty good appetite hearing about the specials, because it took a while. The front dining room, where we were, was pretty small, with a lot of tables in it. It was no big deal when we were seated, because we were the first ones in there. But as the place started filling up, I noticed how uncomfortably close to one another we were all seated. While I am deaf as a post, I still knew all the intimate details of the lives of all my fellow diners, because I couldn’t help but hear it. When the dude next to me coughed, my love handles jiggled. I hope Betty finds her cat(Betty was two tables over from me). Ok, on to the food. They had an snack they give you up front which was a kind of fried black eye pea with jalapeño thingy, it was different but good. I ordered an appetizer, but I don’t know if it was any good because I never got it(their only real slip up of the evening… no biggie… they didn’t try to charge me for it). I had mushroom soup rather than a salad, and it was quite good. My entrée was the lamb, and it was very good, very well prepared. My daughter had quail, and it too was very good. We ordered little tarts for dessert… I actually ordered 16 of them so my daughter could take them back to the dorm to share. They were supposed to have ice cream on them, but I told them to hold it since it would melt before we could get back. They were nice enough to whip up some whipped cream and put it on there … I hear they were scarfed up by troop of ravenous sophomore girls and were a big hit. They had a very nice wine selection, and the waiter made good recommendations. The prices for this restaurant were very reasonable. Overall, a good dining experience.
