excellent food. reasonable prices. Come E Calat– te has been nicely cleaned up. Waitress was knowledgeable about the menu, food arrived nice and hot. Reasonable prices… We liked this restaurant a lot! Come E Calat– Te replaced Montalegre name. Try this restaurant… you’ll enjoy it!

I hadn’t been here since visiting the bar side for the world cup and really wanted to try the food again. We were very pleased with our meals and service. The place quickly filled with locals. The place is simple and authentic. It was a perfect Portuguese meal out!

Picture small children at the dinner table feverishly talking and fooling around finally mother, wooden spoon in hand, yells, «Come E Cala-Te, shut up and eat!» I can assure you this won’t happen to you, from start to finish the food at Come E Cala-Te, formerly New Montalegre, will have you transfixed on some of the best Portuguese food in the area. From pork, steak, chicken and seafood dishes, they are all prepared from old world recipes and the results are some of the best I have had anywhere! Special favorites of mine are the Mariscos, a seafood Feijoada, Mariscada a seafood stew, broiled fish, Paella Valenciana; any of the pork or chicken dishes are sure to please as well. All desserts are made in house; the serradura, sawdust pudding, is totally amazing as is the Bolo de Bolacha and the flan. Moderate prices on Portuguese wines as well as house wines by the half and full carafe are real values. Do not miss this fine little ethnic restaurant gem in Ludlow!

An experience that shows Unilocal truest value. An out of town we, a Local Dive, easily overlooked or passed bye. Sat at the Bar with a roomful of locals who seemed entirely acquainted with one another. Ordered the Kale Soup which had a nice flavor and spice which I attributed to the thinly sliced sausage found at the bottom of the cup. For the entrée I chose Polvo(Octopus) perfectly cooked with a smokey char on the outside despite being perfectly tender. Service was friendly and spot on. The only negative, not sufficient to affect the stars, was the speed at which the food came out of the kitchen. Too fast!!!

10 times better than the previous owners food. Might even be best Portuguese restaurant in the area now. Was shocked how good it was. Definitely going back.

We had the specials at the waiters recommendation. Excellent fish dishes followed by port wine drunken pears. The new owner is trying to make a go at reinventing an old blue collar Portuguese eatery. Lights, tables, and standing menu need to be replaced. This restaurant is off to a good start but should be wary of trying to borrow too much from Italian cuisine to supplement the stale Mom-n-Pop Portuguese menu.

I had the pleasure of dining at this wonderful restaurant with my family and a great friend who was in fact the person who told us nothing but good things about this establishment and I venture to say that he was absolutely correct. I was craving beef so I ordered the sirloin tips and coin potatoes. The coin potatoes are named as such because they’re sliced very thin and they do look like gold coins, perfectly crispy and extremely delicious! My sirloin tips were cooked exactly medium as I had ordered it and our meal was paired with a bottle of Malbec that was divine and extremely well priced. At our table there was the mariscada, the Portuguese version of a paella, and salmon. I tried a bit of each and was blown away by the distinctive flavors and the freshness of the seafood, just fabulous. For dessert we all shared a dessert very much like tiramisu and the name escapes me right now but I couldn’t stop eating it and I ended up finishing the last of it off. There’s just something wonderful about walking into a restaurant that serves simple, fresh, and delicious food at extremely reasonable prices, must definitely visit again the next time my travels take me up north.

Went this past Easter and the service was better, the food was much better, overall atmosphere was better, in general. I ordered Camarao a Mozambique(shrimp Mozambique). I highly recommend it as it was fabulous!
