I ordered a cheesesteak with banana peppers and onions. Fairly straightforward common sandwich. Much to my chagrin, it came with raw and muons on it. It Took about 20′ to cook, yet they couldn’t cook the onions? Who the heck puts raw onions in a cheesesteak?

Compared to some of the other D’Angelo’s along the Mass Pike, I think this one offers just a little less, but I still think it’s a good spot to stop for a meal. Unlike most of the others, this one is not connected to a Papa Gino’s pizza. It’s hard to tell whether the sub selection is actually smaller or not than at the other Pike stops, but that is, I believe, because the signage is different. It has a fountain drink machine but a smaller selection of bottled/canned beverages. Soup is also available here. Dining here is relaxing. This is a medium-sized Pike plaza, and one of the few without a McDonald’s. It comes across as quieter because of that, and because a lot of the westbound traffic got onto I-84 South a few exits earlier. Two nits:(1) They do not ask you if you are eating in, so no trays. Everything is wrapped and bagged.(2) There is no napkin dispenser, all the napkins are behind the counter. They give you about a half-dozen with your order, but if you need more, you have to ask. The staff here are friendly and helpful. The woman who waited on me to do everything she could to accommodate customers; she even went out of her way to help for things they did not actually produce here(such as iced coffee).

A little bit crispy, a little bit juicy, the steak cooked on-site is just perfect with the vegetables. A small size is bigger than I can gobble down. Btw Eric is patient with me.

Well! I am not sure if all D’Angelos locations are this good because I had never heard of the chain before a recent New England trip. However, this turnpike location was EXCELLENT. Friendly service and the lobster roll was awesome. I can’t imagine a chain in the western US serving roadside food this yummy.
