Atmosphere is wicked cool. We played pool while we waited for our food and really enjoyed ourselves. Pizza was delicious. Very pleased!

No complaints whatsoever. Granted it took over an hour for 2 pies, it was Friday at 7pm and this place seems to be a popular spot. After an unbelievably disappointing meal being ordered and returned at Siena(Jackson Gore Lodge at Okemo), we resorted to a couple pizzas. The pizzas were excellent. Staff was fun and friendly. Restaurant had a good vibe. Also, 4 local drafts on tap. Will definitely be going back.

Pies cook in 2 minutes at this place but come early and place your orders ahead of time because it gets packed. Décor is cute if you decide to dine in. Tables are lift chairs. Theres a pool table and they have a few select craft beers on tap. Definitely your neighborhood go to pizza spot after a long day on the slopes.

I am so happy to have stumbled across this place at the end of a long drive. Friendly staff, reasonable prices, and absolutely delicious cheesy thin-crust goodness on the table about five minutes after I walked in. I’d go out of my way for a pie from this place. Love the glass bottles of soda, had a lovely glass of Chianti, and don’t miss the gelato in cups in the freezer by the door! They’re clearly doing a brisk take-out business, but I think this type of pizza is best eaten in, hot out of the wood-fired oven.

The tell for a great pizza place is the smell when you enter: it must smell like a mix of baking dough, garlic, and tomato. This place has that in excess — a great sign. And if be happy if I could’ve shared the wonderful pies here with my friends. There were ample tables available, and the staff were friendly. But arriving at 6pm(admittedly on a Saturday night), when we walked up to order our food, we were told we wouldn’t get our food until 7:35pm at the earliest. This was jarring and, frankly, very disappointing. At almost all pizza places of repute(e.g. Modern Apizza or Frank Pepe in New Haven, CT), dine-in orders are pushed to the front of the queue, or shuffled into the mix with take-out. Not here: we would have to wait 95 minutes. If we had known, we would’ve ordered before starting our multi-stop drive down from Killington. So we left: sad, hungry, without good pizza.

I happen to love this place. A lot. My «favorite-American-pizzeria» kind of love. As a pizza snob(hat, monocle, the whole thing) I usually flock to Neapolitan pizzerias and worry about dough, ingredients, cow milk vs buffalo milk, etc. The dough at American Pie is simple, and therefore delicious. Cooked in the wood-fired oven, it tastes like rustic Italian bread. I don’t think they run the oven as hot as they might in Italy, which helps melt, rather than burn, the local cheese. Like most American-made mozzarella, it burns and makes those black dots everywhere when exposed to the temps of a pizza oven, but that is no surprise and really the only thing holding us ‘Muricans behind in the great mozzarella race. Get fresh veggies: this is Vermont so the spinach tastes like spinach. Very unlike my home state of Mass, where most pizza joints source their ingredients from Fat Tony’s farm(watch the Simpsons) and veggie toppings taste like cardboard. I strongly recommend the ricotta, especially they way it is added to the pie: like raspberry coulis or chocolate sauce squirted over dessert. No ricotta lumps, awesome! The dough at American Pie is truly magnificent. Ludlow being a small town I wonder if someone who calls this place their«usual spot» appreciates how much better this pizza is than almost any other pizza they will eat elsewhere in US. should make you homesick just thinking about it!

I make sure to come to American Pie every time I visit Ludlow. The pizza is fantastic, the service is fast, and the employees are always friendly. Make sure to try the Hawiian pie with barbecue sauce!

Really good pizza. My wife and I shared a small veggie and it was fresh, tasty, and cooked just right. The staff is very nice and the place is nicely designed. The bathroom and floors could use a little attention, but nothing bad. The counter area was spotless.

Went here twice over the Labor Day weekend. My family and u were camping with friends in Plymouth. Pizza was great. True thin crust perfectly prepared with some of the freshest toppings. The sauce was nothing short of superb. Owners were great and made us feel at home The decorations were unique and very cool

Wonderful pizza, lovely staff, and fun location. The pizza is excellent. Very thin crust charred perfectly in a wood fire oven. Homemade sauce is terrific. Has a slight kick. Love this place.

We stumbled into this place after wanting something low key for dinner. We got a half and half pizza. vegetarian on one side and BBQ chicken on the other. My husband finished his entire side before even leaving, it was that good!

Personally, I really like their pizza. It’s a thin, wood fired pizza, but well done. I like the Diablo Pizza which is buffalo chicken. I have also had their veggie which I really like. A little on the expensive side for the size of the pizza, but in a small town with 4 pizza places, it is the top of the heap. They have a few different sauces and I have liked all that I have tried. I would like a little more spice in the red sauce, but it is still very good. If you are expecting a classic, NY Pizza, this isn’t it. If you like a thin, wood fired pie, you should walk away happy.

I have been 2 x in the last year and both times had excellent wood fired pizza. The first time was Sept. 2014 just before traveling to Naples Italy the pizza’s birthplace. We told the owner that we loved the pie but we’re going to compare it with Naples and do a comparison. Well this place won easily. I would recommend this wood fired pizza to anyone and will definitely return. Cool decorations include a motorcycle and Rat Fink signs from the 60’s if you remember that. Love it

I was on my way back to the city and was famished after a day of shredding at Killington. I saw a sign for wood fired pizza and pulled right in. The place has that relaxed, ski town vibe to it. The front counter is a modified VW bus. The first good sign was that they were open, the next good sign was that they served slices as I did not want to wait for a whole pizza and I did not want to eat a whole pizza. I ordered 2 slices of cheese. The pizza was cooked in a wood fired oven so it is a bit crispy on the bottom. My slices were a little burnt, but that was no big deal. The slice was tasty, maybe a little short on sauce, but I liked the cheese a lot. Definitely check this place out if you are in town and on the prowl for pizza.

Yo, coolest pizza joint ever. Front counter is made from an old VW bus. Surf board above the pool table. Grape Fanta in old school glass bottles. Tables with lift chairs for seats. You can’t go wrong with Goodman’s American Pie. Oh, and the pizza is mad good too.

Kinda good pizza and they have good intentions, but they just don’t know how to run a restaurant. One poor girl rolling dough while two other watch. A second girl then puts sauce and cheese on and passes to a third. The third puts it into the oven(4 pie max) and watches it cook!!! You can’t make this up. They could EASILY double their output with less labor and cut the wait time in half. Did I mention good pizza!

Service is always fast and friendly. Domenica is a great addition behind the counter! First off you can order from a vintage VWBUS! So cool! They’ve been in business for years but this their new location. I have to say the place looks awesome! Pool table l, vintage arcade games, old ski chairlifts for tables!!! Now for the most important part: the pizza is out of this world! Wood fired using fresh ingredients many local and organic! The signature«rip curl» is soooo good! The best thing they added to their killer new location was serving wine and beer! So now they’ve got some of the best local Vermont beers on draft including switchback ale! But if you just want a cheap draft they’ve got PBR for $ 3!!! What else can I say about a locally owned family business that is cool and unique as Goodman’s American Pie? The owners are some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. Do yourself a favor and make Goodman’s American Pie your next stop for lunch or diner.

Wish I could write about the food! Called to order a pizza on a slow Friday night around 7:30pm, and was told«sorry, were sold out» WTF? They close at nine and thrive only planned to make pizza — at a pizza joint — until 7:30! I won’t even try tomorrow, on a Sat urday night, they may run out by 5:00.
