JUST. run there right now. It was THAT good!!! Immediately upon entering, I fell in love with this cute little place. We were seated upstairs at a huge farm table and our waitress came by to explain the entire menu to us(multiple times). I ordered a salad that could have been split multiple ways but I basically ate the entire thing myself. GET the panzanella salad… to die for. I also ordered the sliders which were yummy and I’m totally not a burger person. I was completely satisfied and full. Hubby had a pasta dish and everyone seemed to love their dishes… would absolutely head back again!

Fun place for an interesting dinner after hitting the slopes. Great cheese, pickles and charcuterie board, great tacos, salad and dessert. Nice and friendly servers too.

Excellent food, service and price… Great example of a farm to table restaurant. The wine and cheese were super… I would highly recommend Stemwinder!

During the stick season in Vermont last weekend where many restaurants were closed in ludlow, vt, my wife and I happened upon this inviting, cozy tucked off a side street wine bar and restaurant with unbelievable food and a really thoughtful and tasty wine selection. I have owned and operated 4 restaurants on Martha’s Vineyard and am currently the executive chef of two high end restaurants. I only say this to speak to my experience when I say that the attention to detail without feeling pompous, the clear love of food, carefully selected local ingredients and the spectacular service made for one of my favorite culinary experiences. We sat at the bar and watched this fine tuned machine work seamlessly to produce beautiful food plate after plate. I asked our bartender to relay this message to the chef/owner. «If you opened a restaurant on Martha’s Vineyard right now, it would instantly be in the top 5.» Josh Aronie

If you want to have dinner, then don’t come here unless you don’t mind having them tell you that they are out of 2 out of 4 of their specials and out of 1 out of their 4 entrees. You would think that they would tell you this before they seat you, but not here. Since they did not have anything available due to an already limited menu, I just had soup for dinner. The curried zucchini soup was delicious. Despite how good the food taste, waiting an hour for entrees to arrive and the head-shaking/eye-rolling from two different servers when trying to come up with excuses on why they are providing bad service does not attract or retain customers. Too bad they don’t have the service/timing together.

This was a great little place. We were a little skeptical about the online menu being a little sparse, but the daily specials posted when we arrived put those to rest. Elk rib steaks, scallops. All soooo good. Not quite true tapas. A better description is small plates. Portions are small but perfect. Normally we split a meal to avoid waste. But these sizes allowed us to try more. Wine selections were good. We ended up trying almost all the desserts. Bourbon peach cobbler. Heaven. Flourless chocolate cake was perfect to finish that last of my big red wine.

Very good food, SLOW service. We waited 20+ for our bottle of wine(not a cheap one either) to come out. Hubby had to ask about it to remind waitresses we still needed it. Sat upstairs, cool atmosphere but very loud.

Great new restaurant, predominantly small plates(tapa-esque). We had the salad special(an interesting, delicious combination of strawberries and balsamic reduction). The lamb meatballs and the flatbread were also delicious. Great wine by the glass selection, the should offer wine pairing ideas for the menu.

Yes — very nice Great ambiance Cozy, rustic, lodge, & loft combo Nice wine selections and attached to a wine store which allows you to buy and carry in!!! Small plates — great variations Nice creativity Small kitchen — and they get stressed A bit overwhelming during ski season so have patience and enjoy another glass of wine One of our favorites

A nice place, good food. Enjoy coming in for wine, pizza and salad. Higher quality than most of the places around, but not stuffy or too expensive. Good cheese and wine shop attached. One of our area favorites. On a nice strip of Ludlow near Downtown Grocery.

Absolutely terrible service. Seated at 8.30pm ordered right away. 9.45 nothing happened until I made a stink. Total blasé attitude about being so late. Eventually received dishes all at 10 – 15 minute intervals with last dish coming out hour and a half after we ordered. Loud ambience with mediocre food and lousy service. Too bad since place has nice vibe and potential.

Food was great, but the service was terrible. Food came out at different times, and they had a hard time accommodating special requests(e.g., no cheese). Cute spot, though.

What a great place! Excellent wines by the glass and a nice selection of a creative dishes. It’s a very attractive small space but doesn’t feel cramped. With a friendly, knowledgable staff this place gets it right in my book. Fair warning: it’s not cheap, but it’s a bit of an oasis in Ludlow.

I can’t believe I just discovered this place! Amazing food. We had a cheese plate, the winter salad, pork tacos, and a special(salami palenta). Amazing!

we wondered into this oasis by accident really, it’s nestled discretely in the back of a charming wine shop. we entered in the way one might discover a secret club or a speakeasy. nestled into a spot at table, and enjoyed the warm personable service, great eats and toasty vibe. even our friendly neighbors were more than happy to include us in conversation and make us feel right at home. the seasonal menu had so many intriguing choices, I wish we had arrived with a bigger appetite. can’t wait to go back and dine here with my guy again the next time we’re in town.

Fantastic find! A wonderfully charming dinner spot with great wine options and fun tapas menu. Specials were fantastic and service was great, attentive, not smothering. I recommend cheese plate with your favorite wine and then share your small plates with your special someone. I look forward to coming back!

Yum! Small plates, great wine, friendly staff Great place for a quiet night out of get together with friends … Not many kids, more of an adult crowd . Sample a few different things and many wines by the glass and bottled beer
