The identity of East Texas is inseparable from the forests in which it’s set. East Texas wouldn’t exist without the timber industry and The Texas Forestry Museum is a living, breathing, and growing testament to the history and future of this integral part of the community. I’m a frequent visitor to the TFM, I try to get out at least a couple of times a year to see the rotating exhibits and permanent collections that inhabit their halls. I always find something I didn’t see the last time and enjoy revisiting familiar favorite exhibits. The Texas Forestry Museum is a hidden gem in the Piney Woods, and their website is a great bookmark, too.
