With my wife being from St Charles parish, we’ve been to many of the local places, including a couple for snowballs. Oak Lane has by far the best snowballs. The ice is shaved very thin(like ice for a snowball should), and they put a good amount of syrup on. They also had a few more flavors, and the Tiger Blood here was great. The lady at the counter was nice, and we had our snowballs super fast. It’s not hard to get to and there looked to be plenty of parking. This place lived up to the hype for sure.

Évaluation du lieu : 5 Luling, LA
Okay, this is really 4.5 stars, but of course that’s not an option. So, update: Since my first review, they have slowly been making some modifcations, all of which are things I had mentioned here as «things that could be better.» IT’S LIKETHEY’REREADINGTHIS. *laughing* The first addition was a trash can, yay! They also added a couple of little sections of fence with two round concrete tables and the associated seating, so you now have the ability to hang out and not get sticky goodness all over your upholstery. It’s an odd setup, the fence and seating is actually in the parking lot, but because it’s such a big area you aren’t losing any parking spaces. Definite points for creativity, because never in a million years would I have thought of that. Kudos also for an expanded line of sugar free options — though I go the route of full sugar(please and thanks), there are plenty of diabetics in our family so it’s definitely appreciated. The only thing lacking at this point(and the reason I’m still half a star shy of 5) is shade. That afternoon heat is absolutely brutal, and on more than one occasion we’ve opted to take our chances with sticky seats and take our snowballs home even though they have the cute little seating area now. It’s south Louisiana, baby. Way too hot to be baking in the sun like that when you don’t have to. Still the best snowballs ever in the history of mankind. I’m just sayin’. :)
