This restaurant is permanently closed. Apparently it closed due to lack of local business around the end of May 2016. We heard the owners are going to focus on catering.

Wow! The items are fresh and top quality. The collards delicious without being greasy or too sweet. The slaw is crisp. Try the baked beans… several different types of beans in a rich sauce. Great and not fatty chopped pork. Real. yes real, not instant iced tea. Super clean. Super friendly!

Perfect Atmosphere. Friendly help and love the waitress who calls everyone«baby». The brisket was a little chewy, which is the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5. But flavor is excellent and prices cannot be beat. Maybe 5 minutes of 95 so worth the detour.

It’s difficult to decide what I enjoyed most! The food or the charming Southern hospitality. Both deserve 5 stars! Best Hush Puppies I’v ever had and the pulled pork sandwich was just as good. Definitely worth getting off 95 to enjoy authentic Southern BBQ and outstanding friendly service.

Tried to stop on our way through. Got off 95 to discover it’s not open on the weekend. Unilocal said that it was. Too bad. We were in the mood for BBQ :((((

We were traveling back home from Washington DC to home and needed a place for a quick bite. Saw some decent reviews and even though it was a little off the beaten path, figured we’d try a little BBQ… the food was all excellent but the sweet potato pie was to die for. .jokingly, I said I love this and Tommy’s wife handed me the recipe! Then Tommy and his wife, Dale continued to bring us tastes of almost everything on the menu. One being better than the last. Excellent brisket, smoked BBQ, banana pudding and sweet potato chiffon pie to end the meal… along with the great food, just go to have a chat with Tommy and Dale, the special owners. .hugs all around!

Do not by-pass this wonderful down-home barbecue restaurant. Excellent barbecue, slaws(two varieties), corn fritters(a must order) and baked beans(outstanding). Our waitress and Tommy were especially gracious! Worth going out of your way for!!!

A compliment like«Awesome» still doesn’t do justice to the food and service in this mom and pop restaurant. Their ample parking and convenient location are truly compliments to all they have to offer! They specialize in wood smoked BBQ, ribs, brisket, and BBQ chicken. . and the homemade deserts are to die for! If you visit once, you’ll go back, guaranteed!

I’m from Florida and tried this place on a whim. Those I’m traveling with and myself are very pleasantly surprised, they keep bringing us food and we love every mouthful. You will love this place.

My husband and I have been taking the 95 south towards Florida and couldn’t stomach the thought of another chain restaurant or fast food meal. Fortunately Tommy’s BBQ is as good as good gets and only a stone’s throw away from the highway. We hit the jackpot! Yum. Yum squared. The ladies behind the counter immediately knew I was from out of town and helped me put together BBQ dream plates with the perfect sides. They even insisted on my trying some of their sweet tea and they were right, it isn’t too sweet and is incredibly refreshing. This place puts love and passion into their cooking and are deservedly getting 5 star reviews. Make sure to stop by Tommy’s BBQ and give your taste buds and soul a hearty plate of some southern yumminess you’re certain to remember.

First of all the staff are lovely, friendly people. They only have brisket on Tuesday and Wednesday so I had bbq chicken and my husband had the BBQ pork. The collards were delicious as was the sweet potato casserole. Actually it was all great.

OMG! I could not agree more with my Unilocal friends! It’s all true you do not feel like you are in a restaurant.@ Tommy’s you feel like you are having a dinner at his home with his family and that you are family… and the food just keeps coming. One thing is for sure-you will not leave this place feeling hungry. We had ribs and brisket with collards, beans and white coleslaw. It’s a party in your mouth! When we «cleaned» our plates, they brought out more food for us to try and said its on the house! Who does this these days?! And don’t even get me started on the dessert… sweet potato chiffon pie is a must! Awesome local mom&pop that you simply can not afford to miss!!!

We were traveling from Charleston to Philadelphia and decided to stop somewhere for lunch. Tommy’s is just over a mile off I-95 and definitely worth it! We just finished lunch and I couldn’t even wait to write a stellar review of this place! This was some of the BESTBBQ we’ve ever had! And the service was above and beyond! Tommy was a true southern gentleman. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming — we felt right at home. It was one of the cleanest restaurants I’ve ever seen — even the bathrooms were pristine and nicely decorated. We had the brisket sandwich, ribs, and a bbq plate. For sides, we had baked beans, collard greens, and white slaw. To top it off, every plate comes with hush puppies! Everything was phenomenal! Make sure you get the sweet tea, too! We will definitely be back any time we are in the area! This is a ma and pop joint you don’t want to miss!

Best smoked Brisket, and pulled pork put that with outstanding collards and you have must try place, we’re from Delaware and I smoke pretty good but Tommy’s Brisket has me rethinking my techniques. And make sure you have the sweet potato chiffon pie. His great staff and himself will make you feel at home The Traveling Man

You can’t go wrong here. It is about a mile off of I-95 and worth the diversion. Priced very reasonably and the service was fast and pleasant. Tommy, the owner stopped at our table and gave us a cornbread fritter. Our very first cornbread fritter. They were quite good, thin and crispy. Don’t forget to order the sweet potato pie, don’t be afraid there is a hint of sweet potato and a lot of chiffon deliciousness.

Headed down to Darlington for the nascar race, figured we could find good barbecue in the carolinas, and check Unilocal ratings for places near our hotel. This looked like the best choice, and is was great. True American food, served simply with care. Nothing is better then an owner out on the floor, who kept bringing more food out. «nothing makes him happier then someone holding there stomach, and smiling on the way out» We did just that, and if paper plates and plastic spoons, and fantastic barbecue work for you, served with smiles, this is the place. I know I won’t ever go down 95 agin without stopping in…

Found this little gem on the way back to NY. At 1st sight its a small place but that does not explain the big flavors of their food. The staff was super friendly and kind and the food was delicious. If you are ever in the area go on over and check them out, they give the south a good name.
