Classic breakfast diner. I had the early bird special: 4 sausage links, 3 eggs, very tasty biscuit, and a mountain of hash browns. Only $ 6. Service was good, never needed to ask for refill on hot coffee. The corned beef hash although not homemade looked good, as well as the omelettes. We’ll be back.

I guess since the positive reviews are older, things have gone down hill since then. Only one of the meals we ordered, out of four, was any good. Food was bland, over cooked. Locally procured perch? Maybe that means procured from the freezer of the Save-a-Lot? The baked potato was hard as a rock and slathered with a pound of margarine. At least the service was nice.

Best hot chocolate in town! Delicious food and awesome staff. Breakfast is served all day. Super low prices and a lot of food for the price too.

Most restaurants will not season the meat before cooking making it taste so so. Not here I had chicken that had just right amount of seasoning to make my taste buds POP. Service was good and friendly. Yes I recommend this resterant

Me and my boyfriend have been eating at Gander’s for at least the past 3 years since we have moved to Erie. We usually always go on Sunday mornings before everyone gets out of church or a little after noon time since it’s a lot less crowded then as well. The food has been amazing each time and the staff is absolutely fabulous! They’re always friendly and very kind. The prices are more than reasonable for the amount of food you get. I can never finish my plate without getting full first.

Ate here last week for lunch. It was actually the middle of the afternoon on a weekday so there was only one other customer in the place. I ordered the hot roast beef sandwich off the specials menu. Came with mashed potatoes and gravy for $ 6.69. Standard hot roast beef open face sandwich on white bread. Thought the beef was a little tough, but flavor was good. Good size portion. Vegetable of the day was(canned) green beans. Asked if I could have some with my lunch; they didn’t charge me anything extra for. I ordered a piece of homemade apple pie to go. $ 2.49. Apples cooked perfectly. Server was very pleasant and took care of my requests. Easy to find off the highway. I’ll return.

Long story short, sometimes we need to just get out of Toledo and see the region from different perspectives. Sometimes the suburbs help. Sometimes we have to go a little farther. Today we say«F» it, and drove to Luna Pier. Why Luna Pier? We have no idea. It’s a bizarre little lake front town, with a bunch of small quirky houses all smashed together enjoying the view from lake Erie. Frankly, it’s not even that great of a view with the smoke stacks and nuclear plants off the in the distance. Still, it’s a view. And it’s a tad bit epic. We hit Gander’s for the first time, mostly because it was SO close to Luna Pier Beach. In fact, it’s closeness to the beach is a big reason why they are getting 4 stars instead of 3. The place is cute. It’s got a VERY familiar small town, midwest vibe. All of the patrons seem to know each other, and the wait staff do a good job of making you feel like a local. There is a reason it’s been around for 26 years. While we were in the mood for breakfast, all signs in the menu pointed to fried seafood as the logical choice. I ended up with the fried perch sandwich, and my lovely bride got her«go to» fried clams. The portions for both plates were pretty substantial, relying heavily on carbs to fill us up. The fries and mashed potatoes were generically perfect, as were the clams which are obviously flown in from some far off land. But my locally procured perch? It was perfect. Lovely. Just right. And it made me think of how much I’m missing out on regional seafood(or is that lakefood?) Sadly, even though we’re a hop, skip & a jump away, Toledo restaurants just don’t feature much Lake Erie fish. After we ate our filling lunch, we headed to the beach for some sight seeing. It was a great way to spend the afternoon. And that my friends is why this place is a 4 star joint. Location, location, location.

Great food, prices and service how much more can you ask from a family resturant. Have ate there twice on Friday for the all you can eat fish dinner. You had your choice of breading on fish. Service was beyond outstanding. Hard to find a great place like htis.

Solid comfort food! Big servings, cheap prices. Example: cod dinner had 5 pieces, corn, potato, bread and rice pudding for dessert for 7.49 on a dinner special. Wife had large Greek salad for $ 5.49. She says its the best ever. If you are looking for haute cusine, maybe not.

Such an unappetizing meal, seriously breakfast is easy. Frozen hashbrowns, over buttered toast(check out the photo i attached), terrible omelet. Oh man please change cooks and product for the love of god.

They serve some of the best Sunday Breakfasts. Comforting to know that its still there despite the invasion of fast food and truck stops off the freeway. Its been around LP for a long time and fits in with the small town feeling. Havent been there in a while but I look forward to going when Im back across that side of the state.
