«In my dreams alone have I imagined such a place» a visiting relative of mine exclaimed as we waded down the calm and sparkling clear Shenandoah River accented by rolling hills, steep mountain bluffs, breathtaking valleys, and a greenery so deep you would think you were almost in heaven… He was right. This is a very organized — very nice clean and responsive kind of place as opposed to the place up in Harpers Ferry where it would take upwards a whopping 3-hours to get into the river with a bunch of crazies who get lost while making a trip to the water intake. The staff is super friendly and very accommodating as well. Will come again.

Beautiful area and a nice experience. Great for camping and resting. I would definitely recommend and visit myself again.

My girls and I went tubing with this company. We were staying at a cabin for the weekend and we spontaneously decided we wanted to go tubing and this place was the closest. It’s $ 20 to go tubing, which I think is a little expensive. They do have everything you need in case you forget something, like shoes for $ 12 and an airtight box for $ 20 to keep everything dry. I believe they also keep your keys in case you didn’t want to carry it around. For the waiver, nobody really checks whether you signed it or not. You do have to arrive at 11:30 since they have specific times for boarding. You have an option of wearing a blue life jacket to wear or orange life jacket to be attached to your tube in case. You also have to pay for an extra tube if you have a cooler you want to float. The tube for coolers are different so pay attention cause my group didn’t. There is a bus to take you to drop off and last pick up is at 5. When we were there, it took us all 4 hours to go down the river for three miles. It was very relaxing. The rapids were pretty awesome as well. The bus on the way back was super crowded and dirty, but it got us back to where we needed to be. Will definitely be back if I’m around the area.

I had a blast with my family. Of course, you need to think about if this should be a family trip, or if you want to go with your old pals and have a party weekend. I think you can kill two birds with one stone. Staff was incredibly helpful and kind.

Boys day out. My son was never on a boat. We did the river sampler. About an hour ride, ~3 miles. We chose the tandem kayak. Sit on top style. Wow, what fun. The bus driver(NICK) was awesome. interacted with us and told us some pointers. We had a blast. My son enjoyed it as well. If we have time, we may go back and do a tube float.

We’ve been here several times over the years and have had great times and have had mediocre times, with one incident being poor and ridiculous and it’s always based on the level of customer service they provide. Last year, they dropped a group of us off 8 or 9 miles away for tubing and as we were all unpacking the tubes and sliding them down to the water, the bus driver loaded up my tube again and drove off! Never even asked or said anything. Guess he assumed it was an extra tube. In this case, we were lucky that someone came by with a cell phone and we could call them, or I would have waited there for HOURS until they came to find me. This was HORRIBLE! Most recently, we showed up at 10:15 to be nice and early for the 11AM special kayal trip, which is a discounted trip. We were checked right in, even though they were busy and that was great, but then we sat and waited and waited and waited, until around noon to finally get to go kayaking! The young guy helping us was very nice and informative, but to much so that he double-checked and triple-checked everything before doing the next thing and to do that and cause a slight delay is one thing, but for us to wait that long is excessive. There was a lady there who was very friendly and knowledgeable and seemed to be in-charge. She got things done. Overall, this most recent kayak trip was GREAT! Stay away from the tubing though… The water moved to slow that it was far from fun and involved us having to work hard to get those tubes to go faster. Will we go back? Not sure… Might be time to find another river outfitter to use.

Usually this place is pretty decent until today… We were told two weeks ago to come on Sundays because it’s less crowded so I brought my two young sons for a canoeing trip. We arrived with all our paperwork already filled out and ready to go. We checked and and was told it would be about 10 minutes till we left. Well after repeatedly asking how much long(45 minutes) we finally followed the bus to a drop off point. For a less crowded day it was pretty unorganized. Not sure if I will return but once we finally go on the water it was fun.
