Well in the past I have been satisfied. Well everything changed today. My food was just the opposite of what I ordered. The items I asked for extra were not on my salad and the items I requested to be omitted were actually on my salad. Funny I was the only person in the restaurant when this happened.

I’m a big fan of Mexican, Tex-mex, whatever. I usually find myself at vallartas or when I’m with the kids, Moes. I hadn’t been to Tijuana flats in probably ten years! I was very pleased. I ordered the beef and bean flautas. They were very tasty. I got a side of guac too which tasted pretty fresh, just needed a bit more cilantro, lime, and salt. The chips and queso were terrific. My husband, who’s a big fan of the queso at Moes, said this was much better. The chips were very crisp and fresh and the queso had a good flavor. Our boys enjoyed their tacos and nachos. If only they had margaritas… oh well. When that happens, I’ll give them 5-stars.

I love tiajuana flats! Queso is one of my favorite things about mexican foods and I like their queso. When I ate here I got a chicken quesadilla with all of the toppings except for sour cream. I also got a large side of queso :) you order what you want at the counter and they give you your drinks there. After we sat down the food came out fairly quickly. The quesadillas are always tasty, but the one I got the past time was a little watery so didn’t stay together well. When I picked up part of the quesadilla parts were falling everywhere, which made it difficult to eat. Although it was juicy it still tasted good. I also enjoyed the queso. I have tried the flautas at tiajuana flats and they are tasty. This location was clean, the staff was friendly, and the food tasted good.

Im originally from Orlando where the first TF was built and I’m a huge fan of the restaurant! We recently moved to Tampa and were thrilled to see that we had a TF down the road. We have been to this TF on several occasions now and have been underwhelmed each time — with the worst experience being this last Friday night. ~Took forever to order.(15 mins) ~Took forever to receive food.(20 mins) My husband and daughters food was«fine» when it finally arrived but my nachos were horrible. The nachos must have sat under a heat lamp for 10+ mins and literally had no toppings on them. I attached a pic — it was really just a basket of chips with some burnt cheese, a little chicken and some guac. I wanted to speak with a manager– but not once did anyone come by and offer to refill our drinks or ask how the food was. Which is usually not the case at all — TF has always had great staff in Orlando. We ended up going to counter ourselves to ask for a refill and started to bus our own table when finally someone came over and took the plates from my husbands hands. At that point — i was just ready to go. Really disappointing — wont be going back anymore. :(

I told them when I walked in it was my first experience. It was an opportunity to earn a regular customer. I WILLNOTBEBACK. The chips were so stale, I ordered a burrito there was no rice in it. No rice at all. It was a huge salt bomb so gross. The queso was substandard. So salty rice less burrito and 5 stale chips. I think I’ll keep my money.

Went here for a birthday lunch with a friend.(Happy Birthday, Frank) I’ve been here on a few occasions, and during the month of October, they invite you to eat a pink taco to help raise funds for Breast Cancer Research. I’m sorry, I just can’t order one, let alone eat one with a straight face. AHEM! We ordered at the counter, the staff was quick and efficient. We sat at the tables outside because it was a flippin’ fabulous day. Our food came out fast and it was tasty. I love that they have the sauce bar for folks who need it, but me, I’m not one of them fancy folks. :)

Always love a great Mexican meal and Tijuana Flats always delivers. The staff at this location is very attentive and accommodating. I had recently ordered a to go meal from this location and they had it ready in the short time it was quoted and had managed to pack it so that it stayed fresh until I was able to get home and eat an hour later.

My first experience with Tijuana Flats will hopefully be my last. I ordered the Flautas and the chicken was so chewy. Ick. My guacamole still had ice crystals in it, so that couldn’t have been fresh. At least the sweet tea was good. Also really disliked the whole aesthetic of the place, like the rude bumper stickers and gross wall art — but that’s just not my thing.

Tried this place because the locals said it was good. It was busy and I’m really confused as to why? The food was horrible! This place shames Tijuana MX. The service was awesome! They get a star for that but the food was NOT any type of Mexican, texmex style. It was like it came out of wonder bread land and hostess made it. I’m happy this place uses healthy food so they get another star for hormone free meat. Come to think of it that should have tipped me off. That’s all. I miss San Diego… I miss real Mexican food.

Stopped at Tijuana Flats for a quick late bite. Despite almost being closing time, they welcomed us in and the gentleman who took our order was very friendly and patient. Food came out fairly quick and tasted great! Our waitress was also very friendly. Loooved their hot sauce selection! We merely spent $ 17 and I even took some of my meal home. Will definitely be back!

UPDATE: Have ordered from here since and they actually still have green onions and the tomatoes were really red. So let’s just chalk it up to inconsistency or they had run out. If they had run out they should make the customers aware of this before they order the food. The food here, or maybe the food at all Tiajuana Flats, seems to be going down hill. No more black olives, white tomatoes and no more green onions for starters. Not as good as it used to be, bland and for a higher price. Pretty disappointing considering Tiajuana Flats used to be a frequent stop for me.

My favorite thing about TFs is their hot sauce bar. I know it’s kind of gimmicky but I don’t care. The chips are tasty and I love their tacos and Atom Bombs. The flavors are not necessarily out of this world or anything, but they are balanced and consistent. Being a teacher I appreciate the teacher discount on regular priced items. Service has always been really good when I’ve come here as well.

Nachos are like overwhelmingly delicious(: atmosphere is awesome so creative(: And the fact you can have a beer and chill in such a place with nachos without it being a sports bar kinda thing Is cool Love Tijuana flats

Our first time at any Tijuana Flat was this past Friday. We told the staff it was our first time and they went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The food was great. Very fresh. They even refill your Speciality dip. The sauces amazing. So fun that there is a sauce bar. They have beer which is so nice. We can’t say enough about the staff and the manager. They were top notch with customer service! Amazing! We will totally be back to try more of the menu.

I go to the one on 54 in Lutz, my family and I love this place! Is it gourmet Mexican? No, but it sure is great fast food Mexican and always very fresh. If you order the guacamole they will refill it for you !!! They do not really«advertise» but they will do it if you ask. Great churro’s as well. It’s a great place for a quick, cheap and fresh!

Tijuana Flats is probably my favorite fast food mexican restaurant. I love their Atom Bombs and chips and salsa. That is the most fun part of going to Tijuana Flats in my opinion, trying all the great flavors of salsa in all the varying heat categories. As a bonus they offer teacher discounts on regular priced items.

I’m not going to say its easy for a restaurant to do it right. Afterall, there are hundreds of Unilocal reviews that say otherwise. But in my opinion a restaurant doesn’t reveal its true colors until it messes up and has to fix it. Some places can’t do it. They laugh at what they’ve done, offer you nothing, make no effort to salvage your visit and send you on your way. I’ve eaten at Tijuana Flats in Lutz more times than I’d like to admit. Its right by my place of employment and on that rare opportunity we go out to eat, this is usually our destination. My wife loves Tijuana Flats nachos and so, as a cheap treat to her before a party, we stopped and grabbed some food to go. I remained in the car with our sleeping baby. She headed in and ordered vegetarian nachos for herself and a dairy free burrito for me. When she returned we decided to tear into our meals right then and there. It was pitch black in the car and very hard to see what we were about to eat. I was a bit nervous, I’ve been to enough places that deal with a lot of cheese who just throw it on without even thinking about it and botch the order. To my relief, they had gotten it right. No cheese, no sour cream, lots of salsa. Just how I like it. Unfortunately they had botched J-Fur’s nachos bad. She ate a few bites and tasted a strange saltiness. We turned on the lights and… her nachos were covered in meat. J-Fur has been a vegetarian for going on fourteen years. She is the one who get me into it. Those few bites were enough to send this stressed out mommy into a fit of despair. She started to cry. We woke the baby and carried the nachos back into the restaurant. I was ready to lambast them, you just can’t mess up something like this. But before I could even say anything to the manager, J-Fur began crying again. She explained through tears that she was a vegetarian and her nachos had meat on them. The manager listened, stared her directly in the eyes the entire time and never moved to belittle or dismiss what she said. When she was done explaining it he apologized profusely and offered to make her another batch of nachos. He also refunded her credit card and said they were on the house. Then, and this is where I truly believe he went above and beyond, he brought out a twenty-five dollar gift card and gave it to her apologizing again for what happened. That, my friends, is how you fix a situation. In my opinion, Tijuana Flats is a three star joint. They make burritos and nachos that are okay, their salsa is so so, their hot sauce bar and desserts are pretty cool but I won’t go out of my way to visit there. But this branch, the one who stepped up to fix something they did wrong, gets that extra star for their approach to customer service.

Tijuana Flats has pretty good fast-casual American-style Mexican food, but I want to call out the Lutz store for its top-notch courtesy. We stopped in, I on my feet and Jodi in her wheelchair, and the staff instantly saw that the queue would be a bit awkward because of how it was laid out. An employee took our orders outside of the queue, and when I mentioned I’d be driving while eating(thus cheese sauce on top would be bad), they offered to cut mine in half for my convenience. We only had ten minutes to get in and out before we’d be late to our next event, and Tijuana Flats nailed that requirement too. Thanks, y’all!
