Best brioche ever. I dream about this place. Best baked goods in Lynchburg – end of story!

I placed my order on Wednesday the 12th for a cake for the 22nd and Catherine wrote my card for my order hesitating they could have it on Saturday so I agreed to pick it up Friday, a day early. I followed up Saturday and the person I spoke to asked me to email Lindsey the photo of the cake I wanted only to be informed 3 days prior to my pick up day they could not make my cake and offered a round booty cake and I asked for a onesie design. If you can’t you can’t. I decided to find someone that could on short notice. I was very disappointed that they dropped the cake on me and have less than capable people working for them. The baker that came through wasn’t someone with lack of business because her delivery van was full of beautiful cakes including mine at a reasonable price. I have several events in the near future that require cakes but my business won’t go to this bakery.

Delicious quiche(breakfast quiche and Lorraine), wrote us quick instructions to heat up whole pie in our oven — delicious! Great artisan coffee too.

Agree with the previous review — brioche is pretty good! Beyond that, the service is extremely incredibly, inexplicably SLOW. Ordered a normal turkey sandwich, and it took like 20 minutes-with only one other person in the entire store ordering. Literally. Good sandwich, though. Also noteworthy, the service at this place is awful. The people behind the counter are rude, impatient, and in general, seem annoyed with you. I go occasionally when I’m in the mood for a brioche, a crème brûlée pie, a napoleon, or when I’m not pressed for time and want a decent sandwich. Their cakes, cupcakes, cookies, brownies, and several other offerings aren’t that great at all. Especially for the price.

The brioche at this place is WONDERFUL!!! I would recommend the Spinach & Swiss. They also serve Panache coffee, which is a wonderful alternative to Starbucks. They serve sandwiches for lunch and have an assortment of wonderful baked goods and breads for purchase. My favorite breakfast place in Lynchburg, hands down. The only drawback is that it is take-out only during winter months(they have a couple bistro tables outdoors for seating).
