When a number of key factors are all working together to make an enjoyable experience possible, you can understand why I gave 5 stars. Visiting family while in Lynchburg, my youngest begged us to play mini golf. After arriving, the manager, or possibly the owner and staff, were friendly and helpful, taking time to recommend to me which course was more fun vs more challenging. One of my two boys wanted to play putt putt but the other wanted to play in the well stocked arcade. The mini golf course, where I joined my son, was very clean and well maintained. It reminded me of putt putt courses back when I was a kid in the 80s. Both boys, and my family members who joined in the golf«tournament», enjoyed themselves and as we were leaving, at the last minute we inquired about the go-carts. The manager assured us he’d be happy to start them up for us and even reminded my arcade playing son that he had yet to spend his tickets won to exchange for prizes. After a very long and generous number of laps around the fun go-cart track we were all exhilarated and breathless from the time we’d spent. I only wish the owner operated a mini golf course in our part of the country.

As a young college kid, I spent a LOT of Friday nights here, tokens in my pocket and putting around, hoping to get that orange ball for a hole in one. Since moving away from the area in 2003, however, I’ve barely seen a Putt Putt location that peaked my interest. Upon moving back to the area last fall, one of my first trips was to visit the Putt Putt, and see how it had changed. What an expansion! In addition to the well maintained courses, the interior now features several areas of skills games, batting cages, go-karts, a water bumper boat area, and inside even features a multi-level laser tag arena! In my younger days, I spent a lot of money at laser tag arenas, and I know my stuff — This is a quality arena, laid out well, with plenty of great places to shoot, hide, and experience the game. Combined with the fact that the long time owner, Joe Aboid, is about as nice of a guy as they come, and someone who is passionate about his business, you’re guaranteed to have a great time there. A great place for kids from ages 5 to 95!

One afternoon, we decided to break up the bar hopping with a round of putt-putt.(Therefore, this review is about the golf part of the establishment, not the go-kart part) The place was definitely busy, but we were able to walk in and walk right up the the golf area with no line. We were surprised to find that there is no bar — not even beer — at the establishment. Golf without beer is in itself ridiculous, but PUTT-PUTT without beer? Unheard of. We told the gentleman at the counter that we’d be back shortly, and we went to a bar down the road for a couple rounds of shots. Upon returning and getting our clubs and balls, we ventured out to the golf course. It’s an 18-hole course with pretty unimaginative holes. No rotating windmills, moving parts, fountains, tunnels, or multi-level greens here — just some funky angled greens where you need to remember your high-school geometry. I guess this place is pretty ‘par for the course’ — hahaha… pun intended. Overall, I believe this place is intended to be more family-friendly, as opposed to the ‘adult’ putt-putt golf courses that you’ll find in South Florida. Definitely kid-friendly — get your buzz on beforehand if that’s what you’re looking for.

Batting cages! Five cages for slow and fast pitch baseball and softball. 18 pitches per token. $ 2 per token, $ 8 for 5 tokens. No ice machine on site for the soreness and bruised ego. –_–

A very serious DDR-addiction started at this place. I was making $ 6 an hour at the CVS down the road, and pretty much spending it all here. The last time I dropped by it looked like they had a bunch of new arcade machines and fun stuff. but I think I’m getting too old for it now ;_;
