Such a disrespectful experience. I called in for a delivery on and they told me they were«too busy» to take my order. The lady I called had an awful attitude and didn’t even let me respond before she hung up the phone. I called back to speak with their manager and she told me the same thing. I don’t recommend this place at all. Disrespectful employees and a manager who apparently doesn’t care.

The food is hearty and the service is always relaxed and easygoing. There’s a variety of American fare being cooked to order in huge portions within that tiny abode. Make sure you ask for seasoning salt on everything. Killer sandwiches, but I would urge you go pick it up-we somehow ended spending 33 bucks on two sandwiches and two orders of fries for local delivery.

Came highly recommended by a local and I would agree it’s pretty good. Super friendly staff, got 8in cheesesteak all the way with seasoned fries and buttered corn and a soda for 10 dollars with student ID. Had a hard time finding this place with all the construction going on in the area but im glad I did!

I love Unilocal for places like this! I would have NEVER found this place if I didn’t see it on Unilocal.Excellent cheesesteak sub. Fresh bread. Decent fries. Not much of a «sit down» place, but they do have a few tables. Mostly a take out or delivery business but really good stuff!

Surely one of the best cheesesteaks south of the Mason-Dixon Line. Picked up carryout several times. Never disappoints.

I grew up near Philly. This is the next best thing I have found in the south. Good Food great staff.

We wanted to like this place, but we didn’t. It’s hard to say what the cause was: was it no Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi in the cooler? Was it a bloody HSN show blaring on both TVs? Was it the gross, uncleaned tables? Was it the bathroom with a dirty seat and dirty floors? No. But those didn’t help. The fact is that the sandwiches were just average cheesesteaks. We could have gotten less greasy sandwiches at Jerry’s. We will not be returning.

I’m from the Philly area and I can honestly say this place makes cheesesteaks that taste straight from the city. The owner’s a Philly-native and knows what he’s doing.

A very nice surprise place to find on Unilocal.I was sitting at the Lynchburg hospital and looked on Unilocal for somewhere close to eat, this came up and it was a great surprise. A little hole in the wall with very good food. You need to stop in if you are in the area and are hungry.

The outside is not very inviting and the parking lot is a mess, but don’t let that keep you away from these cheesecakes. The staff is friendly and the cheesesteaks are delicious. I feel like I’m back home in Philadelphia when I eat here.

I’ve been passing this place for the past 2 years with no knowledge that it was even there until today. I hate myself for not being aware of my surroundings. Disclaimer: never been to philly Quick service, really good cheesesteak, soft rolls. Get the cheez wiz, don’t be silly.

I was thrown off at first pulling up because the parking lot is not great and I almost passed it and the area was bit sketchy but one of the best places in Lynchburg to eat for cheap. The server and the cooks were great and nice as well. I order the All the way cheesesteak and it was delicious. Hands down I was pleased about the experience and taste, next time I going to try plain cheesesteak with cheese wiz.

The food is great. The service is friendly. They make the best cheesesteak that I have ever had. Try it. You won’t be disappointed.

We stopped in based on the Unilocal reviews while passing through town. The place is smaller than we expected but the menu is fantastic and the food is very good. I went with a cheesesteak with everything which included onions, pickles, catsup and mustard. I started to regret the toppings soon after I ordered but it was awesome! My wife tried it and wished she hadn’t gone traditional with just steak and cheese. My young daughter, who isn’t very adventurous, loved the cheeseburger. The fries were a little overcooked but still good. The woman behind the counter was very sweet and especially helpful. This place is far from fancy but well worth a visit!

Every time I walk into this place it’s like walking into Philly. All of the old Eagles posters and other memorabilia really seal the deal. The cheesesteaks are fantastic. Offering all the tranditional toppings and they even season the fries with some sort of Old-Bay stuff… It’s authentic, delicious, and the service and staff are fantastic. Highly recommend.

Never had a cheesesteak in Philly, but the ones they serve here are delicious. My favorite is the chicken philly with hot sauce. Good prices, great food, awesome service. Been here multiple times and will continue to visit.

I’ve been coming here for years, and the food is absolutely phenomenal. While they certainly don’t reinvent the wheel here, they take a classic American staple and perfect it better than any cheesesteak I’ve ever had in Philadelphia. While the food is great though, I think the reason I keep coming back here is because there is a sense of authenticity the moment you walk in the door. Stemming from the incredibly friendly service, to the quiet buzz of Sportscenter on the TV, to the Philly posters sloppily plastered on the wall, I always get the vibe that I stumbled into some hidden, hole in the wall, Philadelphia secret… but in Lynchburg. The authenticity of a Philly cheesesteak but without the rude Philly attitude: sounds exactly what I’ve been looking for.

My wife and I just moved to Lynchburg from the Philadelphia area, and we were dying of cheesesteaks. Not from Subway, mind you, we wanted a real authentic taste. If there’s one thing Philly people KNOW, it’s their cheesesteaks, and we are picky. After hearing about it, we found Taste of Philly. Small location, building is «worn in». Not falling apart, but has the look and feel of a small hoagie shop.(The Philadelphia Eagles logo painted in the glass certainly didn’t hurt!) We were greeted warmly, and ordered two steaks. I was surprised when I said«Whiz wit», and they knew what I meant! Made our steaks a «combo», for a slight up charge, that got us drinks and fries. A good deal! The steaks were cooked well, and had decent flavor. Amoroso’s rolls were a welcome touch! However, the meat tasted very watered down, like it had been defrosted in a vat of water. Took away from some of the natural flavor of the meat. Last minor tick was the fries. They had old bay on them, which I didn’t know was coming(menu didn’t say ‘seasoned’). Still, for a cheesesteak snob like me, I enjoyed the overall trip, and would probably patronize them again. Friendly service, mostly authentic menu with hoagie and steak selections, and all at a great value.

I have eaten there a few times and it always has been very good. Tonight we placed an order to be picked up, and it was ready right on time and the food was perfect. The buffalo chicken cheesesteak was awesome. We also got 3 whiz with steaks and they were just as good. 2 orders of cheese fries later all 5 of us were good to go. The guys working there are as nice as they can be and they will get my return business.
