Cabin Creekwood

My husband and I took a trip out here to snowboard for the weekend (february) and it was 10x better than I expected. The pictures doesn’t do it justice! We ended up with the barnwood 1 br 1 bth. It was fully furnished and they had basically everything you needed. I liked there there were extra blankets and quilts. Everything was very clean and neat. And its really cute. You really get the cabin feel of it and it’s a great place for a romantic getaway or just a family weekender. At first I wished there was wifi but I am happy there wasn’t because it gave us a chance to remove ourselves from technology and enjoy the outdoors and each others company. There was a creek/​river right behind us and that was nice. We are excited for the next time! It’s 20 mins away from wintergreen but it can become an hour if blue ridge pkwy is closed but that also all depends on the weather. Other than that this place felt like home and I didn’t want to leave!

Stayed here in late January 2016 with a friend for a weekend at Wintergreen resort. Excellent stay, the cabin was just fantastic.
Owners are really nice, offer military discount, and the cabin was loaded with just about everything we needed. Nice kitchen provided all the tools we needed for meals, the bedrooms were comfortable and we slept great, the living room was spacious, and we could have easily brought a much larger group and still been very comfortable.
WiFi is a bit spotty, seems to originate from a central signal point and a network extender would have really helped bridge the gaps so we had reliable Internet for when we were relaxing after a long day on the slopes. TV was a CRT and we didn’t have access to anything but DVDs. The selection the owners have was okay but if you think you’re going to want to watch any TV/​movies then better bring your own.
Location was super close to Wintergreen resort, easy to find, and all around peaceful. I’m giving ⁴⁄₅ because everything was superb but having more widespread, reliable Internet would have made it. Definitely would come back here, a wonderful personal experience.

I stayed here with my girlfriend on Friday, and my fiancéé on Saturday. Turns out those are the same person, and this cabin and the beautiful trails nearby were an awesome setting for our engagement :)
The cabin was very homey and cozy. Rustic wood burning stove, comfortable bed, babbling creek outside. Everything was very clean, and the cabin was well equipped. I was a little surprised to find a full set of dishes, matching silverware and all the other amenities that I’ve learned not to expect from a cabin.
I had a number of last minute changes of plans, and Stan was super flexible and accomodating.
I would highly recommend, and I’m a little hesitant to post this review as I don’t want it to become harder to book a stay there. But that’s selfish, so here it is.

One of the best places to stay near Wintergreen!
Cabin Creekwood has 9 cabins to choose from. The few times I’ve stayed there I’ve always stayed in Rockwood, I loved it the first time I stayed so I stuck with it. The cabins are a home away from home, they have kitchens, dishes, woodstove, towels, bedding, BBQ, and even a few snacks.
Cabins are open year round, I’ve been in winter and spring time and it’s always beautiful.
The owners are really awesome trustworthy people and they would definitely go out of their way to make you feel comfortable.
Their rates are VERY reasonable compared to other places in the area, they also offer military discounts!
Close to Wintergreen park (skiing/​snowboarding) Also close to my favorite Devils Backbone Brewery.
For as long as I am here in Virginia, Cabin Creekwood is where I’ll be staying when I’m up in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
