Very confused by the negative comments regarding parking, the owner and the staff. Yes, the location is in an apartment complex, however, there is ample parking. Available spots may be located at the back of the lot, but you are there to take a fitness class! I have encountered Jacqui, the owner, twice. The first time at sign up and the second time when I needed to cancel my membership due to relocation. Jacqui was very helpful and pleasant during both occasions… yes, even when I needed to CANCEL my membership. The trainers and staff are very supportive, knowledgeable, challenging and motivating. Most importantly, they make everyone, no matter what weight or age, feel welcome and push them to the best of their ability.

I love it! The team is fantastic– from the ladies that work out front who are always helpful to the instructors who are smart and motivate you during each class! Love the atmosphere, the support, the work out. Aside from losing weight, you gain strength, stamina and you are extremely proud of yourself when you finish each class! Continue with the amazing job, you guys are awesome! BTW, Rafael, Will, Alysson & Eugene are fantastic!

I have high expectations for workout classes and CKO Lyndhurst delivers! The instructors are very motivating and really push you to your limits. It’s the perfect mix of cardio, abs/​core, plyometrics and resistance training — definitely a huge calorie burn! I will be back!

Let me start by saying that I love the guy instructors here. Will and Rafael awesomely kick my butt and, after trying classes with other instructors, these two are the reason I bought a membership. That said, I’m very much in agreement with the other reviews here… the owner is completely rude and will make you feel like you are stupid for asking any questions, including whether the gym will be open when everything else in town is closed because of a blizzard (the answer was yes, but she made me feel like an idiot for not knowing if the online schedule was updated to factor in the snow). Even when you are signing a contract for a year-​long membership, she doesn’t even try to fake being nice to get a new client. If you’re talking to someone else behind the desk, she’ll jump in in a condescending tone and interrupt the conversation. I’m left wondering why someone who clearly dislikes dealing with people so much would go into a business where she has to recruit new clients and deal with people every class, every day. At this point, I try to avoid her at all costs. If I hadn’t already bought a membership, I would probably drive the extra few minutes to go to the one in Clifton or Lodi. And, parking is DEFINITELY an issue… prepare to park at the farthest part of the parking lot because this CKO is in an apartment building, so you’re fighting with the residents for parking in an already-​too-​small lot.

First off it was extremely important for me to find a fitness activity that challenged me enough to maintain progress in my goals to have a good beach body while working around all my sport related injuries.
I’ve been attending for a few months and due to my job I rarely get to attend class at the same times which actually turned out great because I get to take all the different instructors which changes up my work outs and keeps me engaged.
The team at CKO took their time before and after my classes showing me different ways I could take on floor exercises to work around my injuries.
Overall I get the results I want while having fun and I always leave looking forward to my next class.

I joined a year ago and at age 62 never thought I could do it, but with the help of any of the instructors I am now 20 lbs lighter and do not take anymore colesteral pills or have to see a chiropractor. CKO of Lyndhurst is super clean and Jacqui the owner could not be anymore pleasant and helpful. She is extremely knowledgeable and has helped me to learn how to live a healthier life. Would recommend this place highly.

I do not recommend this place. I recently found out I was pregnant and was instructed by my doctor that I needed to stop going because of this. When I called to cancel my membership the owner, Jacqueline rudely told me over the phone that I needed a doctors note to cancel my membership. Obviously, I thought this was so I didn’t get charged any further as my MD’s recommendation was not to participate in this activity any longer. When I finally was able to drive to my doctors office which is a half hour away and get the note I went in to cancel. I was then told by Jacqueline (the extremely rude, unhappy dietician — and OWNER) that she was 19 weeks pregnant and condescendingly told me that she still teaches. She is was very insulting. She has no idea of my medical history and then asked me how many weeks I was. It’s none of her business and I believe this is against HIPPA policy. I’ll look into this as I’m considering taking this to small claims court strictly because I’m so disgusted by her unfounded judgment of me. It’s not about the money, it’s about the principal. And this was under my doctor’s recommendation. Just because my doctor feels in the best interest of my health as well as my child’s…don’t judge me for canceling because you’ll lose money. She told me I would still be charged the 30 days due to notice. When I asked her why she would make me go and get a doctors note she said «I didn’t even get your name and didn’t know what membership you had» I shouldn’t be held accountable because you are incapable of doing something as simple as asking my name and what my membership was. That is your job, not mine. I’m not sure what a difference in membership would make either. If I had a 6 month — I need a MD note but if I have a 3 month I don’t. Makes no sense. She was making excuses and frankly I think she told me to get the doctors note to extend my membership even longer. Not a very smart move because not only did you lose my account but now you have lost my husbands. I can’t believe she is the owner… really says something about the business. If you do choose CKO, don’t choose Lyndhurst. there are others close by.

My first class was a very pleasant experience and I am certain it will not be my last! The owner/​instructor Jaqui was extremely accommodating. She offered personalized instruction during the class and made feel very comfortable as I had to modify some of the exercises. Everyone seemed to workout at their own pace and Jaqui seemed to roll with it.
She offered continual praise during the hour plus class. The facility was clean and the girl at the front desk was very sweet. There were no judgements or sideways looks because I had a Groupon.
No pressure to join after my first class. I see how everyone says it’s addicting!

This place sucks. The trainers are stupid, and along with the clientele, they are rude and make you feel shitty about yourself. I have been to cko in so many other locations, and this is by far the worst. It may be a bit more of a drive, but you should definitely go to any other cko. Not to mention this is in an apartment complex and we have to fight tenants for parking. Can’t imagine how loud it must be for people living in the building, but I am sure that is part of the reason why they always give me dirty looks on my way in. Just do yourself a favor and save the awkwardness and go somewhere else.
