Osaka Sushi

Great Food! The place has a nice sushi bar area, nice background music, the atmosphere is quite nice and cozy. I ordered the Sunrise roll. It was tasty, the fish was fresh and well made. it only has crab tempura and avocado inside which made the roll a bit thin but its understandable. I enjoyed it either way. the miso soup was good too. nothing out of the ordinary.

One of the better sushi places in the area. The fish is always fresh, never ordered anything that tasted bad. Some of their special limited time rolls are very creative and fun. Only wish they would deliver!

I’ll give it only two stars because I actually didn’t try it but my husband did once and he loved it. We got there @ 9 and sat down and were told they couldn’t serve us because they were closing @ 9:30. Not cool. Do you want business?

The sushi here is never a disappointment. I have had a salad on two occasions and the lettuce seemed questionable. Aside from that, the house salad comes with a ginger dressing that is quite tasty. It’s also a BYOB.

Don’t plan on walking in at 9:00pm even when their business hours say they close at 10:00pm they will tell you that they close at 9:30pm and tell you they can’t serve you. I went in this evening while a man was at the sushi bar. Then a man came from the back after a minute of us already sitting down looking at the menus and said they were closing in a half hour. I mean cmon do you want our business or not. My boyfriend and I are new to the area and we’re looking to find a good sushi spot. After hearing that the food was pretty good from other reviews we decided to go but in the future we will chose somewhere else.

I found this place by accident. I was looking for a Sushi place in the area to go with a friend. It is the best I’ve ever had. It’s fresh and they make it sort of in front of you. I’ve been to Rutherford sushi places and they do not compare to here! I always have a craving to come back every week.

Second time coming here from a long vacation. Once again, excellent service and great food! The sushi is great and and the service is great. I definitely recommend any of the special dragon rolls but I LOVE the lyndhurst roll! Come and eat here. Won’t regret it.

If I could give negative stars to this ridiculous «business» I would. A little over a year ago we came in and were sent away, told that they were closing in a half hour. At 8:55, tonight, when their closing hour on Unilocal is 10:00, we just walked in… and in a simpering tone we were told, «we’re actually closing at 9:30»…we could NOT BELIEVE IT.
Do these guys want to be in business? Is your door open? Why, WHY we thought of giving them another chance, I can’t say. We don’t live in Mayberry. It’s a Friday night. Is there any sense of hospitality there at all? These guys don’t deserve your business.

When I was living in New Jersey I think I came to this place over 100 times!!! If you want FRESH and DELICIOUS sushi than this is the place to go!!! This is a tiny cute little place but it’s so clean and the staff is so friendly! They don’t serve alcohol so it is best to bring your own bottle of wine or alcohol! All of their speciality rolls are amazing!!! It’s also very affordable! the sushi chefs are so friendly too! Osaka is # 1 in the New Jersey Area!!!

Not sure what the fuss is about– but maybe I shouldn’t have ordered the Bento box dinner and stuck to the sushi that other Unilocalers have raved about.
Awkward vibe when you enter an empty restaurant and you’re outnumbered by the staff. It seems like a family run operation, but the kids have been forced to work at the place and are not at all happy about it.
Portion sizes are on the smaller side, and too much out of the squeeze bottle Tonkatsu sauce smothering the cutlet. Cali roll was teeny with not much flavor to the rice.
Standard fare, but nothing noteworthy from my visit.

A quaint simple no frills sushi restaurant with very fresh fish. I’m a big tuna fan and it tasted sweet and smooth. Just like I like it. The ginger salad was tasty. The seaweed salad was wonderful and ample. Miso soup was typical, but good. A nice small pot of free tea was served. BTW no saki because it’s BYOB. Friendly and very efficient service. We enjoyed everything and will return to try some more exotic delicacies. But I’ll be bringing my own saki or Japanese beer.

Our food was delicious and very affordable. The sweet avocado roll was amazing. We started with a ginger salad that was very tasty. Good sushi, relaxed environment.

Rolls were good. Fresh. Service was fast and really good. A must place for sushi lovers.

Went there for the 1^st time and love the food. The food was very fresh and tasted great. Will definitely pass the word to others to come here and will be becoming a regular.

VERY CLEAN AND FRESH! These are the two most important things in a sushi restaurant, and this place nailed it.
Osaka has been in my town for a while now, but this was my first visit after I got fed-​up with the sub-​par sushi from my normal places. I went there on a Friday afternoon during my lunch break.
The hostess/​waitress was friendly and not over-​attentive, and she took my order right away. I’m sure this was due, in part, to being one of only three occupied tables, so I’d have to see how prompt the service is on a busier occasion.
My beverage and miso soup was served a minute after ordering. The miso soup was excellent; it tasted fresh and not too salty. I was so relieved it didn’t taste or look like it had been sitting in the kitchen for the past three days!
I received my edamame and Rainbow Roll shortly after finishing my soup. The serving of edamame was generous, and they thoughtfully provided an empty bowl for the pods! The Rainbow Roll was expertly prepared and looked downright beautiful. The fish was super fresh and gorgeous looking.
I will definitely be back!
UPDATE: I went for lunch again, and I still have rave reviews! My first visit was no fluke; this place is 5 stars all the way.
I got the miso soup and Rainbow Roll again. :)
My friend ordered the teriyaki chicken bento box from the lunch menu and the gyoza (pork dumplings). The dumplings were fried to perfection, not greasy or mushy. The bento box had a generous helping of flavorful rice, garden salad with ginger dressing, California Roll, and chicken teriyaki with broccoli. My friend said everything was delicious, and she would also definitely return!

I was never really a real sushi person, but I then came to realize maybe it wash’t me but the places i was trying sushi. I’ve tried sushi times before in different places but it just wasn’t something i could say i enjoyed. Well all of that has changed ever since my experience here. I have not gotten over the fact of how good sushi is since i left this place a week ago. The place is small and comfortable, and i love the choice of music (very relaxing). Staff is friendly and its BYOB. I can’t wait to go back.
