It’s not exactly a po’boy but Derrick, the chef-owner, is from the South and makes a fine & tasty catfish sandwich. The French fries are made from SCRATCH. real potatoes! Not what you expect from a little diner set across from the GE plant. Telling my friends.

Just a bad day all around. Music so loud we could not talk. Asked waitress if they could turn it down, she told me to go in the kitchen and talk to the cook. Had grits dumped all over my eggs on a plate not in a bowl. Just sucked would have to think twice before going back. Shame

Food is good just order take out. Hopefully there are no BUGS in your food!!! I wanted to like this place, i really did the food was good. The customer service was terrible. The old lady waitress sounds like she smokes a pack a day. Her cough is unpleasing to the ear. The only reason this place is 2 stars is because of cleanliness which i link to customer service. You have to wipe off your ketchup bottle from previous customers. CARPETSAREDINGYANDGROSS. The waitress even served me water with a nasty looking dead bug floating around in it and she didnt even offer a discount off our meal. Smh. 3 yolks please get it together. Thanks

Was really excited to try this place. Decent reviews for a hole in the wall place. Well, bad service and bad food… I will not be returning. I was one of 4 occupied tables and waited over an hour for pancakes!

Tried this place for the first time and will definitely be going back! It may not look appealing at first glance but wait until you try the food! I loved the biscuits & gravy as well as my huge stack of chocolate chip pancakes!

Another hidden gem. This diner is on a small road and doesn’t look like much from the outside, but walk inside and it is down-home, warm and friendly. Even the regulars said«hi» when we walked in. The portions are huge, from the coffee to the pancakes. In some places«huge portions» are a trade off for«average» taste. I had the mushroom & swiss omelette, grits(potatoes or oatmeal are other sode choices), toast(white or wheat) and a short stack of pancakes. My friend had eggs over easy, bacon, toat and the potatoes(home fries). The pancakes were a shock; they were at least 8-inches across and a half-inch thick so I was expecting«heavy» but I was wrong. They were light and airy with a good flavour. The mushrooms in the omelette(at least 3 eggs) were fresh sliced. The grits, always a gamble in New England, were as good as any I’ve had in the South. The only downside was the cheese; it was cheap, processed cheese and did not have a good«swiss» flavour. I wound up splitting the pancakes with my friend and we still couldn’t finish our meals. Good coffee, friendly staff and a great cook/owner made this a stop I will revisot when I am back in the area.

Its amazing that people can complain about such unimportant things. Like someone else said, this is a breakfast joint, not mimosa’s are us. Please, do you know how hard it is to find biscuits and sausage gravy, never mind great biscuits and gravy! Chef Derrick was introduced to me by a friend and when I came in the second time with my, he took a moment to meet her. This woman is from Texas and gave the biscuits and gravy 3 thumbs up. It’s breakfast, great food, nice people and a lot of love! What more does one need. Kevin C.

3 Yolks is a greasy spoon and it’s perfect! You don’t come to 3 Yolks for a healthy breakfast. Unless by healthy you mean hearty: biscuits and gravy, chicken fried steak, fried catfish, eggs benedict — they’re all here and damn tasty, too! We try to come here at least once a month so my husband can have his biscuits/gravy and a side of grits fix. I love Derek’s chicken and waffles but have been known to stray into the land of French toast and pancakes. The next time you’re in the area and hungry for breakfast, give 3 Yolks a try. Just remember to bring cash because your credit/debit cards are no good here. Come visit and you might hear Derek singing along to the radio. And Sandra will be sure to keep your coffee cup filled up :)

Some lil’ breakfast places give you just what you want at a reasonable price-sadly, the 3 Yolks is not one of those places. I went for a solo breakfast midweek and just one table was taken… not such a great sign for a breakfast joint at 8:30 am. The problems started with the coffee. It was so watered down that it barely had any flavor at all. The«Big Breakfast» with 3 pancakes, 3 eggs and sausage or bacon seemed like what I wanted. My waitress asked if I wanted toast or English muffin, I chose the muffin. The food arrived quickly — no surprise since mine was the only order the cook was working on. The eggs were perfect and over easy as I wanted. The bacon was thick cut and 3 pieces too. The pancakes… big but not so great. Like the coffee they had little flavor — a splash of vanilla extract in the batter would have made them soooo much better. The pancake syrup also seemed watered down and flavorless. I was a bit taken back when my bill arrived. I sure didn’t feel like $ 11.50 was a fair price for what was served. I came to find out that the coffee and english muffin were added to the price of the«Big Breakfast». The service left nothing to mention. If you like to pay top dollar for a mediocre breakfast then look no further — my money will be better spent elsewhere.

Food was great and cheap. But beverages were highway robbery. Two chocolate milks and two apple juice were over $ 10 by itself. The place could use a thorough cleaning though. Probably will only go back for breakfast to-go next time and skip the beverages.

This is a small place and obviously waitstaff has changed. From the previous reviews I think its safe to assume that they got someone who is new to help out and she did not know the menu… so who cares, this place is small it is not the Four Seasons and therefore you should go with that in mind. Tell someone how you want your eggs prepared for god sakes. I for one love this place. I am from Ohio but my parent are from Georgia and Mississippi so I grew up eating southern and then I moved to MA. I havent found one place on the North Shore that serves Grits and Catfish, Biscuits and Gravy and Chicken Fried Steak. The Potatoes are to die for and so are the grits, ask for cheese in them… mmmmmmm! The last time I was in there a woman was asking for the peppers and onions to be removed from the potatoes and were promptly told that it couldn’t be done. If you are looking for lattes go to Starbucks, if you want a plain old cup of joe, go to your local diner. That is what this place is more or less like a side of the road diner with great southern food. Nothing more, Nothing Less!

Ashley, you made too many mistakes today, the two fatal ones were to put your name on the back of the reciept and to serve 3 avid Unilocalers. Liz and I had a friend, Eric stay over, and come morning we wanted to take him to one of two places, which we both loved. We settled on 3 yolks as it was closer than mildred’s. Unfortunately we raved about you guys, we talked about our awesome southern server who knew what hospitality was all about. Had we not raved, due to time constraints the perennial favorite, the tumble inn diner would have been our stop. So we ordered, and we quickly learned how dumb ashley was. Liz got the chocolate chip waffles and milk, Eric got the kielbasa and grits, with cranberry juice, and me the breakfast sampler with iced coffee. She did not know what came on the sampler but showed us with her hands the approximate size, what actually came was much smaller, she did not know if the waffles came with eggs nor if my sampler had any options, she had to check with the kitchen as she claimed the weekend menu confused her. She came back, said eggs did not come with the waffles but gave me a toast choice. Made my choice, wheat. We waited, and while we did we wrote and posted some old Unilocal reviews, bad sign for you 3 yolks. Ashley you were annoying, you kept coming back, you just wanted to tell us that Eric looked soooo familiar and how you also spent some time living in CT. Great… and its morning, we are hungry, and we don’t care. Food comes, eventually, and the nightmare truly begins. Eric puts watery katchup on his plate, definately not hunts as stated on the label, likely something cheap and canned, the hunts bottle shows an expiration date of over 2 months ago. Liz digs into her pancakes, there are no chocolate chips and we tend to lean towards thinking they are buckwheat or whole wheat. Excuse me we call out, Ashley explains that they are the chocolate chip pancakes, that they melt the chocolate chips into the batter. Another bite leads us to believe her. They could be chocolate, but still they aren’t good. She pushes them aside and picks from all our plates. My meal far from perfect, came with scrambled eggs, I don’t like scrambled eggs I like them fried or over easy, anything but scrambled. Did I have an option? I wasn’t given one. Ashley returns, Liz tells her to take the waffles away, two or three bites removed. Check comes, my iced coffee is gone and I want more. Never offered. We spend time reading the check, considering how to properly tip with service like this. Ashley comes back says we are spending too much time with the check wondering if anything us wrong. We tell her no, there is stuff wrong. 1) the waffles aren’t compped, and 2) she wrote down scrambled eggs by my order. We decided to comp the waffles ourselves. Paid and promptly left. Had you compped the waffles you would have had a tip more than thirty something cents, instead we had to. We paid and got out ASAP, car in reverse before all the doors were even closed. Twice in my life I have not left a tip… or just left just a few cents. This one was one of them and warranted. Never again 3 yolks, unless of coure ashley is gone and you bring back the awesome guy with the accent.

I must have driven by this place at least twenty times, and not once did I acknowledge it. Well, shame on me, because if I had, I would have found a regular breakfast spot a lot sooner! This unassuming small-red-barn looking establishment is easy to miss. But, definitely keep an eye out for it and stop by for breakfast, because you won’t be disappointed. The inside is just as parochial as the outside. There is counter service, and a spattering of tables all around. Even though it was a Saturday morning when we went, it wasn’t too busy. The menu was quite extensive — they had a whole menu of just weekend specials that included mostly omelettes, and different-flavored waffles and pancakes. Their regular menu had one side of lunch items and another side full of breakfast items. They also have specials listed on the whiteboard, so keep an eye out for that too. The prices are incredibly reasonable and low. I don’t think I saw anything over $ 10. Coffee was pretty good — not your typical drippy diner coffee. The orange juice came in a HUGE plastic tumbler. Portion size was great and very fair for the price. The sausage links were delicious and the eggs were fresh. The home fries are a must-try — they’re cooked with onions and garlic and incredibly delicious! All in all, a very positive and delicious breakfast experience. I’m glad we found this place that’s right down the street from our home, and I’m sure we’ll be going there often! Oh, and make sure you grab a menu on the way out, because they also do take-out!

6.95 Eggs benedict. Good solid eggs benedict, served promptly with a smile and a «how is it?» Served in a well-appointed and well-lit diner with great clientele But let me repeat that first part. $ 6.95 eggs benedict. SRSLY. Go here. Even if you have to go alone, you’ll make friends– just find a way out here and slip away into some food. So good. So good.

Step off of Lynn Marsh Road and into another world, something reminiscent of a dusty side road in the west or something. It’s kind of surreal that this charming and old-fashioned diner sits in the middle of the Lynn Marsh Road, surrounded by pretty much nothing but fishermen and people on their way to and from GE, but there it is, inviting you in for cheap coffee and good eats. The breakfast diner experience was complete: the waitress had a raspy voice, she pushed me to drink more coffee when I didn’t want any more; a few guys sat around the counter reading the Boston Herald; some heavily-tattooed dude parked his motorcycle out front; and I was inexplicably offered hot sauce to put on my eggs and bacon. The breakfast itself(scrambled eggs with bacon) was solid if not spectacular and tasted very fresh. I don’t think I spent more than $ 8 total for the eggs, meat, coffee, OJ and tip. It’s unlikely that you’ll ever just happen to be going down this part of 107 and feel hungry but if you do, 3 Yolks is where to go. And if you live nearby, work at GE, or spend your days fishing off the side of the road into the marsh, head over and check it out for breakfast regularly.
