Halin Restaurant

I am going to agree with another reviewer on here and say also that Ha Lin in Lynn is one of the best places I have ever ate at on the North Shore for Chinese. I began going here regularly when I started working in Lynn in 2007 – 2010, and hands-​down they have the best testing Chinese food, I have ever tasted. I was shocked as Ha-​Lin is such a hole in the wall in a hellhole section of Lynn, and they turned out one of the best meal I had in that city or the vicinity. When I ordered from them I always got a heaping pile of what I ordered, to the point that it was nearly overflowing over the sides of the container. The quality was reminiscent of the old Weylus in Saugus, and that says a lot. You got a lot for what you paid.
Now, the downside to the restaurant: location. If there was a way to magically teleport the restaurant to a nicer, safer area of the city, this place would have gotten 5 stars. I’m sorry, but a few times I was down there and almost ended up swapping knuckles with someone, because that area is a high drug/​crime area. Despite this, I was willing to risk it all for the Ha-​Lin. The food is that tasty. I never once saw any evidence of critters or creepy-​crawlers in there, so cant say anything to that. Parking is a definite nightmare and that is the main reason for a lot of the problems I encountered with ignoramuses down there. Other than that, I definitely give my nod to this restaurant.

ROACHES!!! Used to order all the time but now wont be anymore walked in grabbed a menu went to order and looked over to a roach crawling on the counter no more ha-​lin for me

Ive been eating here since I was a kid maybe 10+ years and never had any issues since I usually do carry out. Do not order delivery from this place the guy who picks up the phone is always yelling at you. It is so frustrating so speak to him as little as possible. I gave it 3 stars since probably the best chinese food in Lynn if that says much at all lol, but I wont be eating here anymore. I have always been respectful to him even with his attitude, and yet he wants to yell at his customers over the phone. I basically asked why he was yelling at me and hung up. He tried to call me back, but I was not in the mood to get yelled at again. I usually never order delivery but that experience basically turned me off from this place. I dont expect decent customer service in Lynn but can you not yell at me? Am I asking for too much?

THE BEST CHINESES IN LYNN #21 PLEASE. Pork fried rice, beef teriyaki (2), chicken fingers have good flavor not plain (4), & bnls spare ribs all for arnd $ 8 bucks. They are stingy on the duck sauce so always ask for extra. The place could use a makeover for sure and a good scrubbing. But all in all the BES chinese in Lynn.
