Friendly service, great specials, and awesome atmosphere. I felt like I was walking into my own hope for a meal! The ribs were delicious. I can’t wait to go back. Oh yeah, did I mention they do breakfast, too?!

I stumbled upon this place on my way home from the Northshore Animal Shelter. Was starving and randomly stopped for breakfast. What a treat! The place is adorable, very small with wooden built in benches and tables and a beamed peaked ceiling. Overlooks a pond and I felt like I was on a boat. The place is even kind of slanted to one side to add to the effect. I had an omelette with cheddar, onions, mushrooms and tomato with home fries. Quite possibly best home fries ever — crisp on outside, not greasy or heavily seasoned and tender on inside. Cheese in omelette turned out to be American which I kind of hate and there was so much of it relative to veggies which were all on one side, but good nonetheless. Food came out very fast but bill didn’t. Had to chase waitress down for it. Very upbeat vibe. Seemed like a happy staff and a lot of regulars.

Had breakfast with my parents, good food, nice staff ! The eggs Benedict was by far the best I’ve had and they have good home fries not to overlooked or spicy. Price is cheap and they are very quick ! I would definitely recommend it !

Best classic, all-around value, quality & service! I was floored by how good the fried chicken was– like«old recipe KFC» back when they used big, meaty pieces. The staff is friendly & funny, going the extra mile. Taso, the owner, regularly comes out to chat. I’m pretty sure most of the staff are either close friends or relatives. But my favorite– breakfast. They have a corned beef hash eggs Benedict that is just the perfect hangover food.

Best clams in all of New England. Always super fresh, hot, cooked to order and the portion size is huge for the price. They also have a great breakfast. Be sure to check out the lunch specials too! The place is small but we’ve never had a wait. The staff is hit or miss. Sometimes they are very friendly, sometimes not as much but nothing that would prevent me from going back. Seems like there are a lot of regulars in the place. Very fast service!

Went there the other night. Great seafood dinner cooked to perfection. Service was great and the prices were very reasonable. The chef even came out to our table and asked how everything was. You don’t get that kind of service at many restaurants anymore. Kudo’s to the chef and Haywards. keep up the good work.

Great food. Terrible waitress. This business has been through many owners. The current ones need to give waitress 018 an attitude adjustment. I ordered an omelette and bacon well done. The bacon came undercooked for most tastes. Very limp. I simply asked to have it cooked a bit more. The waitress actually sighed in disgust and took the bacon with a nasty puss on. I was told that she is an owner? She never asked if our food was good, she never smiled and generally made us feel as if we were bothering her. Good way to kill your business. The food was good, very good actually. Service improvement would go a long way.

Maybe I hit them at a bad time, but overall a bad experience. For starters, there was a family member or employee sitting in a corner having a loud cell phone conversation while glaring at me. On a Saturday afternoon I was the only person in the place, by the way, which should have told me something. It’s a nice location with seating by the water, but don’t stand at the window looking at the water too long while you’re waiting for your take out order, or cell phone lady will try to burn your face off with her anger stare. And now… the food! The onion rings were decent. Not great, by any means, but good enough. The Lobster roll though reminded me of the great pyramids. It was really big and seemed like it had been sitting there for a long time. It was warm-ish and had either been previously frozen or was just old. As in, not fresh. The mayo was too heavy, which I could’ve overlooked had the meat been edible. And that’s not hyperbole. I had one bite of it and threw it out. The texture was off-putting and it had a strange vaguely artificially sweet taste like someone accidentally dumped a packet of sweet and low in it. Just gross. I don’t mind average food, but when it makes me question if it’ll make me ill, shame on you for selling it. I would’ve gone back and asked for a refund, except I was 10 minutes down the road by that point. Instead I’ll express my displeasure here and drive to Kelly’s RB from now on.

Had not been here in at least 15 years. Even though I think new owners took it over, still some great food and chowder. We god haddock, clams, shrimp and all were great. The onion rings are homemade and thin like they should be. Grape nut pudding for dessert(warm) is a must! Parking can be a challenge but it is worth it, try this place.

First time trying out Hayward’s. Seemed to be a lot of regulars in this place which I am not. A little confusion on the service side of it and I’ll leave it at that. But I was hungry and just wanted my breakfast. lol… Nice view of the lake out the back window.

Went for breakfast this morning and WOW! To start off, the servers were extremely helpful. We were sat right away even though it seeme pretty busy. I am indecisive and couldn’t choose between the pancakes and the omelette. The waitress Kathy chose an omelette for me and OMG best breakfast I had in a while! Fresh sautéed onions and mushrooms and oozing with cheese! Yum! The homefries were cooked perfectly. My boyfriend had the pancakes which were also delish. Such a gem! I will definitely be back!

Service was pretty bad, the hostess began by setting a table with the previous customers food spillage still on the table. it’s ok, mistakes happen. One waitress asked our drink order and walked away as I was giving it to her, mid sentence. Another came over and I had to repeat it, same thing happened. Nobody came back to ask how everything was, had to flag the waitress back to get more coffee. Im a waitress myself so probably more critical than I should be, but these are the basics you’d expect at any decent restaurant. Overall the waitresses seemed spastic and unorganized. Food was standard, home fries undercooked and bland. Would never go back.

Recently came in for breakfast on Mothers Day, typically a super busy restaurant day. We walked right in & got a table right away. The food was awesome, and as always the service was stellar. I think is a hidden gem, love it!

I LOVETHISPLACE. I just made a HUGE mistake. I wrote about an incident with lousy food and how the waitress ruined my purse and it was NOT meant for Hayward’s, it was meant for the Porthole Pub. OMG, Hayward’s is awesome… great food… nice cozy location… clean… and best of all… GREATFOOD. I apologize for the error and I pray that Unilocal can delete what I just wrote. I have ALWAYS had a great experience at Hayward’s. It was the Porthole Pub that was a disaster. SORRYGUYS.

I love this place. My husband and I usually split the a fried seafood dish because it’s always way more than we can eat alone. The fried clams are WAY better than Kelly’s which I used to live by!

Locals recommended this place… it’s very small, and very popular. The people seemed to know all of the customers waiting except us,. The people there were very nice and we were able to get a table overlooking the pond. We had the Belgium waffle which was good, but one of us should have tried the traditional breakfast… they all looked really good… the coffee was good and you can always tell a good place by the coffee… yumm! Very small parking lot, but we found street parking…
