I went for an oil change today. I walked in and said I wanted an oil change. The old guy with glasses didn’t even look up at me and said «there’s no way we can do it right now drop your car off and come back at six. He didn’t give me any kind of price or say we are a little bit busy just a miserable remark. I just walked out and didn’t even say anything to him. How can you have someone at the front desk of your business who makes it out that you are bothering them even though you are giving them business. I wouldn’t bring my car to Midas even if my car was on fire going down the Lynnway. Obviously reading all the other reviews there hasn’t been anything done I gave the corporate office a call maybe that will change things.

I called to get prices on a set of tires. They answered the phone, and when I asked for a price on a set of tires for my car I was told to call later. I asked why, and said I knew my size, just needed a price. He said he was busy and if I needed a price to call later. I said then I’ll try somewhere else, and was responded with «Good», click. I was blown away. And will never step foot in one of their locations.

Called 3 days ago to make an appointment for an oil change today at 11am. I got there right on time and said I was here to drop my car off for an oil change and they looked at me like I had 10 heads and said, well, do you have an appointment? I said yes, I made one a few days ago. Of course they had no record of that. They told me they couldn’t do the oil change but if I could leave my car for a few hours, then they could do it. Needless to say, I was very mad. I was going out of state an hour later so I could not leave my car. Isn’t that the whole point of making an appointment? I will go elsewhere from now on when I need an oil change.

I appreciate the price at Midas for the oil change ($ 30 and change with tax) but I made an appointment for 1pm, dropped my car off at 12:50 and was asked for «1 hour and any extra time would be great». I came back at 1:50 assuming the car would be close to done however it hadn’t even entered the bay. Appointments are set for a reason, if I agree to an appointment time that means I have set my day, for you to not have even started on my car after the time it should have finished means that you don’t care about my schedule but only yours. If you’re going to have appointments, set them and keep them.

What a joke!
I went in for an oil change and tire rotation on a Friday morning at 8:15AM, forty-​five minutes after opening. The three mechanics and the manager are eating breakfast and apparently one customer waiting. OK, we all have to eat. But, then again, NOT exactly killing it either. He asks me how he can help. I ask if I can get a oil change and tire rotation. He asks if I have an appointment — I respond no. He points out correctly that the Groupon states you have to call for an appointment. He asks if I can leave the car for several hours — I say no (several hours for an oill change?!?).
If you are a manager and your staff is not exactly over burdened wouldn’t you accept work? Even if unplanned? Is the goal of the Groupon promotion to turn business away? I have been a customer of them for several years — but no more!
Whoever owns this shop must be looking for LESS revenue. I guess the shortsighted manager must be hoping to be out of a job soon.

I have had mostly postivie experiences here. Honest for a chain until my last visit. A shop manager i had not seen before was trying to do the hard upsell you get at most dealerships. He tried to charge one guy 79 bucks for a premium oil change which did not go over well. Then they tried to get me to fall for the ‘you need some new belts and hoses’ trick. I have a subaru and just had the 70k checkup so there are no belt or hose issues. Great place or horrible place depending on the shop manager and mechanics. The older shop managers are better, the young guy just wants to charge people who don’t know any better.

I found the servive here proffesional, timely and friendly. They diagnosed quickly and did a great job.

I went there for squeeky brake issue and find out one of my calipers is shattered after they take a wheel off. The part wasn’t in stock locally and the location suggested I may need to leave my Jeep. I explained that I had a child and I needed my vehicle in working order I brought in as. The manager, Scott, gave me a credit for the inconvienence and made the situation right. George and John were also very helpful at this location. I recommend this place.

I have been coming here for years. The service now is way friendlier than it used to be. They must have changed management. Donna the shift supervisor, is friendly and explains everything. Felt that I was treated very fairly.

I’ve had my front breaks, rear breaks, and an oil change here. They have been great every time. When I got my rear breaks fixed I was blown away because so much work needed to be done and it was a lot of money (due to my own fault of not bringing it in right away when I thought there was a problem)! But Donna the manager was helpful and told me that I should start getting my oil changed here and have them do an inspection of my breaks when I get my oil changed. That way we can prevent future problems before they start! So I brought my car for an oil change today. Donna was there and remembered me! We chatted for awhile and I told her that my rear wind shield wiper was stolen! Yes stolen! She ordered one because I need a special type on my jeep (which was probably why it was stolen) and had them put it on! I didn’t even wait that much longer and the price with the windshield wiper and the oil change was still really inexpensive! I will be returning again for my next oil change! Mainly because the customer service is great, especially Donna and because the price is good (just as long as I don’t wait forever to have my breaks inspected again)

I have had this Midas do the servicing on my 1999 Ford pickup truck for years, and they have always been honest and fair. For a franchise shop, it isn’t bad. If you find a private mechanic in his own garage somewhere, and he/​she is outstanding, then you are truly fortunate. But for the rest of us average jamokas and palookas, the Midas on the Lynnway is a good bet.

I was quite skeptical of this place because of the other reviews on Unilocal.But I actually had a very pleasant experience at this Midas location. My car desperately needed a muffler part, and my car made it to their parking lot, but wasn’t getting anywhere else. So I was pretty much obligated to get my car fixed at this place. I imagined they would charge me through the roof for it seeing my desperate situation. But, the guy was very honest and fair. He showed me exactly what was wrong with my vehicle, and told me what it would cost. It seemed reasonably priced. He had it done in an hour and no surprise charges at the end when I picked up my car. My car work, I didn’t spend too much, I’m happy.

my girlfriend brought her SUV there because they sent her a coupon for oil change and tire rotation. advertised $ 25. well when we went to pick it up, I made sure to go in with her. guess what happened? couldn’t take it off lift cuz she needed $ 400 in brake repairs! we declined and was told the brakes would be grinding by tomorrow. when we got the car back, oops they FORGOT to rotate the tires and fine print fee’s brought the total to $ 30. if you go mark your tires to insure they are rotated and stick with the oil change, it’s not a bad price.

Haha wow, don’t think they do this just to women they scam the guys too. I went into this shop playing stupid. These mutha fu@#Kers broke my calipers and made me pay for the part and to reinstall it. Worst of all I brought the car in at noon they didn’t tell me they broke the part untill 6pm at close. Along with that more than a $ 1000 in suspension work was recommended by their technicians which was more than the book value for my car!!! Stay far away for this shop if possible for the pricing they charge, just go to a dealer. I tell you the truth I was about to strangle the fricking morons until I realized I was out numbered. No star rating for this shop my experience was horrible.

OK, I know I’m a girl and know nothing about cars, but that is no reason to take advantage of the situation. I needed new front brakes so I took it to midas for repair. Not only did it take them 6 hours to get back to me about what was wrong and how much it would cost, but they told me I needed new front and back breaks as well as new rotors and would cost like $ 600. OK NOT COOL! I may be clueless when it comes to cars but I can tell whether my front or back breaks need to be fixed. I only had them fix the front, which took another 3 hours, although they strongly recommended that I fix my back brakes. 5 months later I took it to another location to have my back brakes fixed and they told me it wasn’t necessary, that they would be OK for a few more months.
The mechanics at midas are scummy, money hungry bastards. Auto service experts my ass. Unless you are going just to get your oil changed, never go to midas, they will try to screw you!
