I just want to add something else to my review. I found ONE thing they make that is good, and good for one purpose. Their french bread is PERFECT for putting together a homemade Bahn Mi! Not normally a baguette I’d buy — the airy quality, along with(if you give it a very short time in an oven) the crispy outer crust is just what you need to put together your own version of Bahn Mi. Mine will never be exactly like, for instance, Phở Viet at the stall at the former Super 88 grocery store in Brighton — but it’ll hold me over til I can get there! So avoid the so-called ciabatta if they still make them,(may it rest in peace, sniff, sniff) and the pastries if they haven’t given up on those(I don’t live in Lynn anymore so I’m just going by what is sold at local stores). But if you’re searching for a good, airy, crispy ‘bahn mi’ style baguette(ONLY! — don’t get it if you want a real authentic French style baguette, please!!) — this is pretty close. They’re sold at Arax in Watertown, too.

i was at the farmer’s market in central square(open thursdays from 11 – 1, july-oct). i’d arrived about 20 minutes before it opened, so i was waiting just outside the fence where people had begun to crowd around. a van pulled up, but some of us were blocking the way in. the man came out of the van, started YELLING at people to «MOVE! you can’t stand here, MMOVE!!!» this was at mothers with little kids. i looked, shocked at how rude he was and made a note not to buy anything from where he set up. it was the supreme bakery stand. well, after buying my veggies, i caved and thought freshly baked bread would be great. so, i succumbed and picked out a french baguette, wheat bread(sliced), a raspberry turnover and a cheese turnover. results: french bread was really flaky and dry, not chewy or crusty in a good way. not worth it. wheat bread tasted bland as well, poor texture like it was from a bread machine. raspberry turnover? more like dry, over-baked«pastry» filled with cheap raspberry JAM. blech. i don’t know, i was expecting like real raspberries. :(then, the cheese one– alright, not great. i took one bite, and will save the rest for my husband, lol. the other turnover made its way to my dog’s plate. at least he enjoyed it! overall, i should have followed my gut feeling and walked away when i saw how rude the guy from the bakery was. it’s not good, don’t waste your time/money trying it.
