NOTE: This review is specifically for the Pastry & Pasta shop adjoining the Function Hall at the Lynnfield location. First off, this place has an unusual combination of offerings: — Cakes/cookies/pastries — Take&bake pasta dishes I only tried the desserts, but they were pretty amazing. I had the individual size Boston Cream Pie and the individual size Carrot Cake. Boston Cream Pie($ 3) 1. The chocolate icing/ganache was nice and rich 2. The cream filling was firm and had a consistency more like cream cheese than pudding… deelish! 3. The cake was nice & moist Carrot Cake($ 3) 1. 3 layers of cake + 3 layers of cream cheese frosting 2. Big chunks of walnut & carrot gave it nice body For under $ 10, this place is a better pick for desserts than Cheesecake Factory, IMO. The downside is that there’s no seating in the Pastry/Pasta shop, so it’s all take-out. It’s well worth it though to take it home and have a slice of cake with a nice coffee/cappuccino! Out of curiosity, I may have to try a pasta dish in the near future, but I’ll definitely go back any time to satisfy a sweet tooth. UPDATE: Key Lime Cheesecake = Oh yah! German Chocolate Cake = Decadent Marbled Cheesecake = Thumbs up Rum Baba Cake = Not so good, to be rum-soaked, it was a little dry 5 out 6 desserts I tried were fantastic. That’s certainly worth going back for!
