Bought a Groupon for oil change at Sears.
Never had car services done here before. .but I got a great deal so I figured I would try it.
First of all. .WHY HAVE I NEVER DONE AN OIL CHANGE HERE BEFORE? ??
No. .seriously. …think about it. .you get your oil changed and it typically takes how long? ?
20 minutes to an hour depending on if you have an appointment or drop in. And what do you do in that time? Sit in a stale popcorn and coffee smelling grease shop watching some stupid ass show they have running on a tv, while you stare at your phone.
But getting your car done at the mall?? GENIUS.
You can shop, eat, shop. …such a better environment than the stink shop.
You can get real coffee, or snacks, even sit down for lunch.
LADIES. …this is where it’s at. Oil change, Sephora. …boom.
Ok. .so back to the service. I bought a Groupon and it wanted me to set an appointment online. …which was great, except it would get to the last step and stop. I tried for 40 minutes and finally just called when the shop opened. I was actually pleased because online I had to set it up for next day, but when I called they were able to get me in same day.
When I got there, there wasn’t anyone saying hello or greeting people, 1 employee was on the phone, and another emerged from the back after a few minutes.
He got me all set up. .said his techs were swamped so it might take up to an hour.
Luckily I shopped and it was ready in an hour.
There was even a $ 10 coupon on my «reminder sticker» on my windshield.
One more reason to go back! !

Service was great prices were decent but a gentleman named Eric was very rude to me in the service area I will not be returning

I don’t know where to start… We needed to replace the cylinder of our jeep Cherokee — they quoted us a rate, but when time came to pick it up it was very different. In addition, the workmanship was very poor, and it needs additional servicing, meaning more precious time. I took it to another Sears and they said I could leave it there for a couple of days so that they can take a look at it… The problem they introduced?! They all went to the same training classes where they teach them key phrases — but that does not equate customer service. In fact, it is like hitting a smiling wall.
Sears used to have a very honest, straightforward service. I now feel I was had by a shady garage.

$ 20 for an oil change, time efficient and quality service? That’s what to expect when you come to Sears! Andy specifically is a great technician and I always go in to see him specifically when I come in. He always takes great care of me and my car!

I had an appointment to have my air conditioning in my car checked. When I got there I explained that to the person at the desk. He said okay. The Sears website said the diagnostic test was free. I came back an hour and a half later and the person at the desk said, «Okay you are all set, that will be $ 130.» I asked what the money was for. He said they charged the a/​c system and I was good to go. I asked if the mechanic had checked the a/​c system. The person went out in the garage came back in and told me the mechanic said the system was leaking and the hoses and compressor would have to be replaced at a cost of about $ 700. I asked if the charge to the a/​c system would last. The desk person said it would for a little while. I asked why they charged the system instead of performing a vacuum test on it. He didn’t know and said that is how they always did things. Basically I paid $ 130 to find out my a/​c is leaking. I’m pretty sure I already knew that. What a scam. Don’t believe anything Sears says about «free». They are going to find a way to make you pay, one way or the other.

It’s the height of the rainy season here and my windshield wipers have stopped working twice in two days causing me I have to get off the road and go home. The wipers would temporarily come back on but stop. They were working when I brought the car in at 10 AM (which was my appointment time) and I informed them that even though they were working, they keep stopping for periods anywhere from 1 – 8 hours and I can’t drive the car like that. They said they’d call in an hour with a diagnosis. At 12:30 I call (only after reaching voice mail 4 times) and they said they’re writing a quote for my repair and they’d call in a few minutes. 2 Pm rolls around and I call back again. They tell me the wipers are working and there’s nothing they can do. So many things wrong. I told them they yes, are going now, but keep stopping. They should have called at 11 telling me it was beyond their ability, not made up a lie at 12:30 before finally going to check on my car. You can’t write an invoice for a repair that you’re not going to do! I had my 2 year old with me and if my sister in law didn’t come and get us I would have been stuck there for four hours with her for them to basically tell me my wipers are going whoosh whoosh so the car is fine. They’re waiving my diagnostic fee rightfully so because they didn’t diagnose anything my two year old couldn’t.

Very good quality shop with reasonable prices. Staff is friendly and professional. Good place to take a used car to for initial inspection before buying it.

Stay away, stay away, stay away.
I had a 5:00 PM appointment to change the oil in my car. I arrived on time. They told me that they would call me when the car was ready but if they didn’t call to just be back by 6:00 since that was when they closed. I arrived at 6:00 only to find out that they had not even started yet. I took my keys and left. If time is not important to you then feel free to go see them.

Seriously, NEVER go to Sears for anything with your car. Not only did they fuck up my summer tires when they put them on, (didn’t replace the valves causing one to go completely flat) little did I know they also RIPPED A HOLE in my winter tires when taking them off! Seriously so fucking pissed. What should have cost me $ 40 for a winter changeover is now costing me five times as much cos I have to buy an entirely new tire. Called them and was told since I didn’t notice it when it happened (I was kind of busy dealing with my FLAT completely destroyed summer tire at the time) they won’t do anything for me. Ridiculous.

First, I had my doubts, after having a bad experience about 8 years ago. I took the chances again and had service done at the Sears Auto Center in Lynnwood. Actually had a LOT of work done too.
The customer service was WAY OVER my expectation. They were over friendly and nice and more than willing to help. They did such an EXCELLENT job on my car. I am very happy. Especially with the price that was spent, it is a much better deal than anywhere I was able to find.
Also put on new tires and they gave me a good deal.
Thank you so much. I’m definitely coming here again.

Forrest and crew saved my life today. If the stress of a new job and apartment hunting wasn’t enough I thought my beloved 1998 Nissan Pathfinder was a goner as well. After a typically horrendous afternoon of car shopping (on a MAJOR budget mind you) I figured it was worth it to have the old girl’s condition given a second opinion. On a busy Sunday afternoon (btw these guys are the only automotive place open around here on Sundays) Forrest was a ray of sunshine upon an otherwise cloudy Seattle day. He and another gentlemen patiently explained what would need to be done to get her back in fighting shape, what parts of her were looking «beautiful», and made a clear effort to save me as much money as possible without skimping on job quality. At that point I added on a laundry list of other maintenance things I’d been putting off and when all was said and done, as one of the techs put it we had a «pretty big ticket.» They even stayed late to get the job done! I will never go else where. And owe Forrest a six-​pack and my endless gratitude!

Great place for new tires or car batteries plus installation.
I got a flat tire around 6pm, which is when most automotive places close their doors. I needed to get a new tire ASAP (the flat was completely shredded). I called Sears and they said that they’d stay open late to install the tires for me. I was in at 7pm and out at 7:30pm.
Excellent service and accommodating!

Update: staff is growing and as friendly as ever. I’ve come in here before and they remember me and how much I love my Dodge Charger, and they take good care of her!
One thing I would change is the phone answering policy. This is not the fault of the employees and I understand this is an upper management thing, but I hate standing in line, finally getting to talk to someone, and halfway through explaining I get cut off because the phone rang. I showered, brushed my teeth, and made the effort to come to the store and waited in line. Why should some jackass in his PJ’s press a few buttons and suddenly jump in front of me? I know several retail stores have this policy, and it’s very disrespectful to the human beings who are physically there. Let the phone ring and allow your staff to give their full, undivided attention to the person in front.
I don’t mean to sound like a narcissist, but a phone caller should not get priority over everyone waiting in line-​ever.
Otherwise I am very happy with this place. One of the few car mechanics you can actually trust, coupons to the Sears store, and a big mall with an Apple Store to hang out in while they work on my car. I’m a fan!

This Sears has always treated me and my family right. Prince has always been really helpful. Calls before they actually do stuff to your car. Good prices and nice people. I will always shop here.

I went to this auto repair place many times and had repairs done but I only had a good customer service once but most of the time they underestimate people. If they think you are not going to spend a lot of money, good lock! I lost trust on them now and I won’t recommend anyone to go there and waste their time and money.

I just moved here from New Jersey. It is tough to find a automotive repair in a new city. Very Professional and trustworthy and honest. Sears Automotive at Alderwood Mall ROCKS!

Went in for a new battery for our car. In and out with the battery installed in less than 20 minutes. Absolutely fantastic service!

Ok, I went back for a full set of tires: Michelin Pilot Exaltos for my BMW. I called on a Saturday morning to get the tires ordered — John, who was working the phone arranged to have the tires brought from their distribution center in Federal Way to the Alderwood Mall location for a Monday installation. I brought the car in Monday and the technicians there were very friendly and eager to sell me other things like a coolant flush and fuel treatment. Unfortunately, while they were working on my car, one of the technicians broken a bolt on the suspension — at least that is what I recall. They called me to give me the news and took responsibility for ordering a replacement bolt from BMW, at their expense. The car stayed in the shop until Tuesday — and I had to call them to get a status update on the vehicle at 11:30 am. they hadn’t worked on my car Tuesday until I called them. Apparently the weekend crew did give the weekday crew the pass down on my car. I got the technicians in high gear and they drove down to Seattle to get the bolt. The car was completed by about 1:30 pm Tuesday and I picked it up at about 2:00 pm.
Note: I asked for a military discount because they had a big banner hanging in the auto department, expressing Sears support of the military — being a reserve uniformed service member, the technician handling my bill knocked 10% off my bill.
So far, the tires and the alignment and everything has worked out well for my car. Good job Sears!

We recently had a very great experience at Sears. I highly recommend this place for all of your automotive needs. This is the letter we wrote about one of the mechanics to his boss:
I am writing to let you know about the excellent customer service I received recently from one of your staff members, Forrest. My boyfriend and I walked into the automotive department, frustrated from our current car situation, and Forrest immediately walked up to us, smiling, and asked us in the most friendly way possible if there was anything he could help with. We told him we were just in to buy some transmission fluid, and he asked if he could take a look at the car. We agreed. We drove the car around, and he excitedly began looking at the engine. Forrest explained exactly what he was looking at and what he thought could be the problem.
My boyfriend and I were so pleased when we left Sears that day. Neither of us had ever experienced such quality customer service like that before. We were so impressed! Forrest was knowledgeable, professional, friendly, warm, and genuinely seemed to care about helping us. Needless to say, he turned our frustrations upside down. We just moved up here from Los Angeles, and were wondering where we were going to be able to find a good mechanic. I’m happy to say that we’ve found a great one, and we will be back to Sears in the future. We’ve told our friends about Forrest, and highly recommended him and Sears for all future automotive needs. This was a great experience and we thank you!
