The guys running this place are pretty sleezy. They aren’t salesmen. What they are are dudes that buy cars at auctions and immediately turn around and sell for a decent profit. They don’t service the cars AT ALL. The cars still smell, have road grime on them, aren’t even detailed in the slightest. It’s just lazy and these guys are inept. The owner is a real winner let me tell ya. If you so much as ask a single question he rolls his eyes or mutters under his breath. I ended up buying a car from the very reputable shop located right in front of it. Sure, the price was more expensive but at least the cars are clean and serviced.

I purchased a 96 Chrysler Concorde about a month ago and they told me it was a perfectly running vehicle and they’d stand behind it.
Well within a week it was already running poorly, misfiring, the ride indicated something wasn’t right, struts? They also told me there was not a reader on the car to find out why the Check Engine light was on… RED FLAG.
Now it leaks water, leaks oil and still misfires. IT DOES have an OBD reader on the car — it just doesn’t work. I went to have an estimate done at a shop and they said that the water pump is bad, the valve cover gaskets are leaking oil, tie rods are work. Motor/​tranny mounts are lose. The housings are rusting and the struts are bad. The brakes are bad, fuel filter’s old, scanner detects a misfire.
In other words, I WOULD NEVER BUY FROM THIS PLACE AGAIN. They don’t return phone calls, I highly doubt they’ll return my email and I really don’t think they’ll stand behind the car like they said the would. 1 star… if I could go lower… I would!
If you want to get a car… get one somewhere else.

My husband and I were looking for a second car being sold at a decent price and came across Auto Werx on Craigslist. We read other reviews for this business below but my husband decided to give them a chance. We called to see if the specific car was still available, told them we’d be on our way, and took the hour+ drive out to Lynnwood.
After finding the place (really needs a sign out front as it’s behind another used car dealership), we introduced ourselves and asked to see the car. The cars are crammed together so we had to wait over 20 minutes while they unsuccessfully tried to jump a car to move the car we wanted to test drive. I viewed this as unprofessional as they could have done this while waiting for our arrival, but we just took that time to examine the car. My husband got in and out and we walked around to talk about what we saw. The next thing we know, the older guy (never provided a name) is yelling at my husband for locking the keys in the car! My husband swore he didn’t touch the locks as he was checking the gears and overall driver’s side of the inside of the car. The younger guy, Jessie I believe, calmed the older guy down –ish by saying it happens more than you think and then proceeded to separate the door to unlock the car, but I was upset that he immediately accused this of us as he was messing with the car as well so couldn’t know for a fact who did what.
After getting the car out, my husband went to sign papers for the test drive and I continued to inspect the electronic functions of the car. We had to move our car so the older guy could get their car completely out for the test drive. He then jumped out of the car and yelled at ME for almost locking the car door «again». I was not having it and told him that I was checking the electric locks and purposefully left the car open to prevent anything from happening accidentally. Instead of apologizing or being understanding, he just walked away.
The car was horrible. It smelled and had things that didn’t work, but drove fine. We didn’t know the area but were able to find a parking lot to test some things, at which point I noticed the «check engine» light was on… but covered with electrical tape so the driver couldn’t see it! My husband said that the black tape blended perfectly with the dashboard, preventing anyone from seeing it. We immediately drove back but couldn’t believe they tried to hide that MAJOR issue. Upon arrival, we asked about it and the older guy looked away and said, «Huh» (clearly he knew about it), got in the car (which had started smoking!) and proceeded to ignore us, so we left.
The entire experience was a nightmare and we will NEVER go back there again as the way their business is being run is highly unprofessional and unethical.

As much as I liked the salesman I dealt with on the day we drove in and purchased the car… That’s where it ends. We made it less than 10 minutes down the road before it was leaking antifreeze and the warning light was flashing. I get it, it’s a used car, and anything can happen. So, it makes it back to them. They agree to fix it. I’m told a new thermostat was put in a day or two later. At this point I’m concerned I just flushed 4 grand down the toilet but I’m trying to stay optimistic. So, when I go pick it up I bring my mechanic, which to my own admission I should have had check the car out prior to buying it. But I didn’t due to the low cost of the vehicle and that it’s a first car for a teenager and won’t be driven too much for the next couple of years. But excuses aside… I’ve learned my lesson. First of all the thermostat wasn’t fixed it was something different but they did have it repaired my mechanic tells me. The muffler was making a noise it wasn’t when we bought the car upon picking it up. The other salesman, or as he describes himself so proudly «the real owner actually» presented himself with very little customer service/​people skills. He tried to play off the noise, any other concerns, and at one point mumbled «it’s all good,» ect… well after about 50 miles of driving the check engine light went off. I wasn’t shocked. It turns out the catalytic converter was shot (why it was making the noise), it needed a new thermostat gauge, and an O2 sensor, among a few other smaller things. We all know that you can reset the check engine light and it can stay off for a while but will eventually will come back on. At this point I didn’t trust bringing it back to them for more duct tape, band aids, and glue work. So, I sucked it up and paid my mechanic over a thousand dollars to fix the issues the right way. I asked my mechanic if it was possible that they didn’t know about the issues and he simply said «there’s no way.» At that point I was really mad. I thought to myself, «why be in the business of being shady?» I waited a while to write this review because I was so mad when it all first happened. I wanted to sit with it for a while to make sure I knew I wouldn’t write the review out of a place of anger, but rather a place of honesty and clarity. And you know what I’ve come to realize is, the part that pisses me off the most is, that this business advertises for reliable cars, under 4K, and that they can finance almost anyone. They are able to finance high risk people because they use a financing company that charges 29.99% interest. So, I imagine to myself this. What if I was someone who had bad credit? What if I bought this car for a daily driver and put all my money down just so I could have reliable transportation, and it breaks down, and I can’t afford to fix it? What then? For me paying a reliable mechanic to actually fix what was really wrong with it vs. band aids wasn’t the end of the world, but it could have been crushing to someone else on a tight budget. And that is the part that again, that pisses me off the most. The part about me buying a car without my mechanic checking it out, knowing these are auction cars, ect… well, I can own that part of it. But when my mechanic tells me there’s no way they didn’t know about at least some of the issues, and they were fine selling me the car that way… and tell me they «fixed» any problems… I just can’t stand this level of shadiness… and felt compelled to tell my story after of course I’d gotten past the emotion of it and could simply state facts. If this review helps even one person avoid buying a clunker at this place, then the time it took to write this review will have been worth it.

Great Customer Service!
I love my new car and I love the price! There is a good selection of cars to choose from and their financing can get just about anyone approved. I will advise anyone getting a used car (from anywhere) to get a warranty. The place is behind another place but that is why they can sell there cars so low. Need a car go here! I recommend this place to everyone looking for a car!

BUYER BEWARE!!!
My mother & I went here and each bought a car about 6 months ago, and despite the smooth talk and assurances, each car has several issues, my mom ended up in an accident due to one of those issues and mine has broken down several times. I told them to please be honest as I need to know what I’m getting into as I’m currently unemployed, and have two small kids and the only way we could afford the cars was my mom’s trade in and the very small inheritance we had from my grandma dying a few weeks before… the salesman assured me their mechanics fixed the only issue on the car and it was in great shape, but if there was a future issue to call, they could fix it ‘at cost’ lol yeah right! After my kids & I got stuck in winter when it broke down they said they would help me out, had a friend who could tow it there free as he owed them a favor, they’d call me back… never heard from them again though I tried calling. Suddenly the guy I spoke to was never able to be reached. Well… once again my car sits in a parking lot of a store, dead. Let this story at LEAST inspire you to learn from my error and BRING IT TO A MECHANIC before you buy if you want to go w/​this crappy company! Do not trust a word they say! They lost out, too… I told them if all goes well I’d send the father of my kids there as he was soon to be buying a car… well, since they were such jerks, he just bought a car elsewhere worth 5 times what mine cost.
~I wrote this above review on Facebook yesterday, today I took it to a mechanic (last 2 times I got it towed home after breakdowns & a friend got it started so I couldn’t afford to get it inspected then) and found the extent of the issues, and am astounded at how lied to I was. Dangerous vehicles like this shouldn’t be given to anyone w/​o knowledge so they can fix it, especially not unemployed mothers of small kids! How do they sleep at night?!! I had just split from my husband of 10 years before I bought the car, I told the salesman this & that I had very limited funds/​means to fix up a car, so I needed to know the amount of work needed, he assured me the only issue was a bad fuel pump that they fixed, yet here my kids sit over a leaking gas tank-​thanks, Seattle Auto Werx! That one is just the tip of the iceberg. My $ 2,500 car needs aprox. $ 1,500 in repairs after a quick inspection, NOT including the leaky fuel issue or the other issues I know need addressing but couldn’t be gotten to today, such as the ABS/​Trac control off lights that come on every time/​the noise it makes before hand, brakes are kinda important! A more thorough inspection when it happens, who knows what other issues there will be! The total amount to fix it will probably exceed it’s value, I can’t afford that on the $ 570/​month I have coming in right now! Minor things too… the AC not being functional, the radio doesn’t work and the speakers aren’t wired right, come in & out as you drive, the key they gave me is a ‘stripped’ type key-​comes out in any gear and the mechanic said it’s the type people use to steal cars, that’s why it is so hard to start– you have to REALLY wiggle the key… the list goes on. I am in tears unable to afford to fix this car! They took the small inheritance that I got & threw it away, basically. All I wanted was a decent car with no super big issues, small things I could fix over time are fine… but this? I’m endangering my kids here. NOT okay. I need to call the BBB :(

I saw a car that I liked and went out there and bought it. I didn’t haggle since I knew the vehicle I was buying would have sold at the cost he listed it. I asked him to disclose the price once I paid and he did. He didn’t make a fortune off my sale, but I found it to be reasonable. The place is a little hard to find, but the reality is… so what. The cost of renting a shop is crazy and I commend any business person that can hang in there even through a recession for over 6 years. I read the other reviews, and would have been burnt if they weren’t available when they said they would be especially since I traveled from Des Moines, Wa. I’m happy with my sale today.

My wife and I saw an ad for an auto at Seattle Auto Werx in Lynnwood on Friday, called the lot, and spoke with Jessie to arrange to see the vehicle the following Saturday morning. We asked Jessie if we could take the car to our mechanic in Redmond for a buyer’s inspection, and he agreed, since all the shops in Lynnwood were either closed on Saturday or charged at least double what our mechanic, whom we trust, would for the mechanical inspection.
Asking Jessie what the earliest appointment he had available Saturday was, we learned his lot would be open at 10AM, so confirmed we’d be by at 10AM sharp and made an 11AM appointment with our mechanic in Redmond. We got to Seattle Auto Werx (we agree with another poster that it’s difficult to find, as it’s behind another building off the main road with no alerting signage) about 9:55AM, aware of the tight timing to get to Redmond and back to Lynnwood (we both had to work in the afternoon). By 10:30AM no one had arrived at the lot and it was obvious we would miss our appointment with our mechanic. Another business owner at an adjacent mechanical shop expressed surprise that the Auto Werx team wasn’t present (we both knocked at Auto Werx’s door, but all the lights were off), and even commented that it reflects very poorly on a business to miss a confirmed appointment.
Later in the day Jessie called to apologize – there had been a power outage at his home. Already hesitant about doing business with Seattle Auto Werx, we called the shop reluctantly on Monday to arrange to see the vehicle one more time. John answered and was adamant, «we were here all day Saturday.» When I detailed to him what had happened – even pointing out that his partner Jessie had already called us to apologize for missing the appointment, he shockingly refused to acknowledge that his team/​partner had missed the appointment. I let him know my mechanic had made a special Saturday availability for my family and that I couldn’t cancel another appointment with his garage. But never once did John even apologize for wasting my family’s time – and by extension, my mechanic’s.
Seattle Auto Werx’s unprofessionalism was scintillating. While emergencies happen – we can understand a missed appointment due to extreme weather conditions, calling a potential client a liar after having failed to show up for a confirmed appointment is simply egregious. This business’ treatment of customers reflects extremely poorly on their products, used cars, in an industry already renowned for duplicity and churlishness. We’ll be letting all our colleagues – all in the market for used vehicles for their sons and daughters leaving for college next fall – know to stay far, far away from Seattle Auto Werx.
