Its like Home Depot and Archie McPhee had a love child, got Michael’s for its nanny and then only fed it at Chuck-e-Cheese for dinner. Seriously though, its a craft store where the art supplies are re purposed and recycled bits and pieces from our everyday lives. Like surplus leather straps originally used for flip flop straps but now possibly bracelets. Or pippets for odd legs. They even have a craft area in the back for kids and are great for parties. Highly recommended for creative kids or your own inner child.

OMG! This was my favorite field trip as a kid but I eventually convinced myself over the years that I had imagined it all because no place could ever be this cool. BUTITDOESEXIST! Seriously as a wee little third grader i made an entire house out of cardboard with a secret drawer in the bottom which I stuffed with all kind of goodies, mostly plastic paint color chips, if my memory serves me right. The house was soo heavy that I had to get picked up from school because I couldn’t carry it on the bus. One point for me-not-being crazy because I didn’t make this place up. Only 473 to go.

If you’re crafty or an artist or a collector of weird junk or a parent you will love this place. Stuffed to the brim with leftovers, found objects, craft supplies, you name it, this is a great place to forage. When was the last time you saw film canisters? Not the 35 mm camera kind(though they have those), the movie film canisters. Papers, bobbles, glitters, kits, magnets, masks, paper clips… they get their stuff from all over and the stock changes all the time, so if you want something for some kind of multi-media art project you’re almost guaranteed to find what you didn’t know you needed. For parents, you can have a birthday party here and let the tykes create away. You can also make things there if you don’t have space to do it at home or take a workshop. They even have a die cut machine you can use. How cool is that?
