Clarke’s Garden Center & Stone Depot

My friend and I went to this garden and were very excited about seeing it for the first time. Well, that’s enough of that place. I had to go back to get an item that I wanted and that I could not find at any other nursery. I have never met more ignorant and rude personnel in my life. No customer service there AT ALL. They ignore you completely and heaven help you for asking a question. The guy at the counter continued to watch a game show while checking me out for my purchase. Sarcastically, he said thanks to the TV game show as he never looked at me again. The guy with him just looked at him and smirked and laughed. I don’t get my feelings hurt by rude and ignorant people like this, but I think that HE thought that he was upsetting me and proving some type of rude point. Two occasions and ignorant and rude behavior on the part of the staff. Prices are high and service is beyond poor. Why ever go back or recommend this place to ANYONE??? The other review must have been written by themselves. While ignorant and rude are understatements of this childish, juvenile and unprofessional behavior by anyone, I’m at a loss for stronger words. By the way, there was only one other customer there when I went the second time — so what does that tell you at the height of summer?

Wonderful gardening center– has everything I need for my veggie garden– manure/​soil combo, pea gravel for my yard, an amazing selection all around! Edited to add the prices were fantastic– much better than other local nurseries. The staff was well-​informed and incredibly helpful, answering all my questions about soil amendments.
