Been here 2 times and very disappointed that they steal from the local community. Next time you go here pay attention to their menu prices and prices they promote on there Windows are not the same when you get the bill. They over charge and have no explanation to why the prices all differ. Just a scam to get people in.

I came here on a Sunday morning right when they open my husband and i ordered a shrimp cocktail and an aguachile. When the food cane to our table we started to eat the aguachiles first, wich was good, as i was preparing my shrimp cocktail i did notice that the girl at the table next to us sent her shrimp cocktail back as soon as my husband and i took the first spoonful we very quickly knew why, it had gone BAD it tasted MOLDY. It seem like we hed been served the previous day leftovers and they obviously did not store it properly. It is so disgusting that they would serve you moldy seafood, they obviously need to train their employees in properly handling leftovers if the intend to serve customers that, because people can get very sick from eating bad seafood. When we called the waitress she took the cocktails back to the kitchen then came back and without even apologizing just asked if we wanted to order something else we said no asked for the bill and left. I will never again set foot here.

This is the worst place I’ve been in a long time. The service is horrible. I was there for 30 minutes Before anyone came to the table. Our server came to the table took half of our order for drinks and left. After asking her to come back for 15 minutes she comes with the worst attitude And still doesn’t come with the right drinks. Then she asked after being here for an about an hour if we were ready to order when they never brought us any menus. Just bad all around.

Decent food, should have more people don’t know what scares them to come. Maybe it’s the loud music

Food was good. I had the ceviche de camaron and fajitas. However, the service was horrible. The moment we sat down, the waitress came over with the rudest facial expression and continued to be dismissive and rude the whole night, never checked on our table, etc…

Waited at door for about 7mins, no greet no hosting. Just got a couple of hesitant looks. Restaurant smelled a bit, took off– ill spend my money across the street at El Paisa Mariscos. #Terrible Service

I went for breakfast when i had just moved to southgate, lets just say it wasnt the best. I hesitated on going back but when they opened their tacos/tamales place next door i went to check it out. Their champurado is good. And the tacos are full of flavor. The corn tamales are sweet and soft and the horchata is pretty goos as well. I would defenitely recommend it. Still have to try their seafood!

Mariscos Sol y Mar is a regional Mexican seafood restaurant. If you think all seafood is the same, au contraire mon frere. This seafood happens to be in the style of the state of Sinaloa(a slender state that is on the west coast of Mexico). I’ve been here several times and often order to go. It’s a close eatery to where I work so it’s convenient. It went through renovations about a year ago so the interior is beautiful now. There’s a stage for weekend entertainment(mostly bandas estilo Sinaloense), a jukebox, large flat screen TVs(for, you know, soccer games and such), and plenty of tables and booths. The décor is really nice now compared to when I first started coming here. There’s such a variety of dishes and prices. You can get a skillet dish for two called a parrillada that comes with chicken, steak, seafood, beans and tortillas for $ 30. There’s tacos of all kinds, tostadas, guacamoles, tortas, burritos, and shrimp and fish served in different styles. The servings are generous and flavorful. It honestly tastes like a home cooked meal, very authentic. I’m a fan of their grilled fish. It’s super flavorful and light. It comes with rice, salad, and a baked potato. Odd combo? Perhaps. It’s very filling and never leaves me with regret. Their shrimp quesadilla is really good too as well as the shrimp and fish tacos. The best treat is their guacamole! I’m really picky about guacamole and Sol y Mars is one of the few that I like. Mariscos Sol y Mar is great for brunch, lunch, dinner, drinks, take out, and they also do catering! Clean facility, decent service, locations not the best but definitely not the worst.

I LOVE the Micheladas here! The BEST Michelada I’ve EVER had at any restaurant or bar or venue, hands down. I can’t say too much about their food because I haven’t really tried it. All I know is I usually order at least 2 Micheladas when I come in because I couldn’t just stop at one drink. Man, my mouth is watering right now just thinking about it :)

I give this place a BIGFATZERO! Epic FAIL! I have been here plenty of times and the service is horrendous! This time was it. I placed an order and one item was missing. I called them to see what they can do. However, the girl who helped us answered the phone and was rude! As if I owe her something. She did not want to deliver it or return my mom. This is while I’m on my lunch break. Then without notice puts the cook on the phone. He was no help and asked for the person who is in charge if this place and all they could give me is his first name, Jose. They do not know how to contact him even if the place burns down. I’m sure if they want their check they’ll have his number. So I hung up b/c they were obnoxious, rude, and inconsiderate. My sweet and dear co-worker went to pick up my order. This is why I stick to Don Chente in Lennox, they are very nice there. La gente de Sol y Mar son una bola de idiotas e ineptos!

«Service sucks! Waited FOREVER for our food(i was done with my food, and my husband still waited an additional 20 minutes for his) and waitress didn’t even apologize! !!! Food is pretty good but not worth the bad service! AND music soooo loud that you have to read waitress lips to figure out what the F she’s saying! Been waiting for 20min for check…» FYI: MICHELADASSUCKKKKKK!!!

The food here is good, but plates can go up to $ 15+, so we went with their taco special. The music is way too loud. Restaurants are suppose to have a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere; it gets as loud as a party and you have to talk over the music. The restaurant hosts live banda, but charges $ 20 per song, seriously?.. I can barely afford a decent meal here. Prepare having an authentic Mexican dining experience with flies landing on your food, i recommend ordering extra limes to place on your drinks and food; which should help keep the flies away. You can also expect random people coming up to your table selling pirated movies. This restaurant allows solicitors, and one thing I hate the most is being bothered by solicitors when i’m trying to enjoy my food. Lastly, their parking lot accommodates about 10 cars; dont be suprised if your car gets broken into either.

OMG the best mexican seafood ! the«Tostadas de ceviche de camaron» never disappoint me! Also«Camarones al Chipotle» are so good(if you like spicy dishes!). On Sundays they have loud live nortena music that can be a little annoying if your not used to it, but just makes you feel more alive!!! Just don’t order«Aguachiles» here because they have no clue how to make them right and you’ll be completely dissapointed!

Great find!!! If you really want to know what Mexican Seafood from Sinaloa are all about you need to go to Sol y Mar… amazing food… try callo de hacha, tacos gobernador, langostinos in any way(they are all ridiculously tasty), waitress said that they bring the langostinos from Sinaloa… wonder if they have a visa or something… they should sell white wine but Pacifico is fine… try Parrillada for 2 or 4… the best best is the rice they add to all the fish dishes… that rice deserves a case study… leave before 6pm in case you don’t want to lose your ears with Nortena music…
